Located near the base of Alta's Westward Ho ski run, The Travis Home has an amazing and unobstructed view of our beautiful Mt. Superior. The home's 3 bedrooms and 2 baths accommodate 4-8 people.
Enjoy Alta and Snowbird's light, fluffy powder or groomed trail skiing, or sign up for a heli-skiing or snowcat adventure. Then lounge in apres ski ambiance around a crackling wood fire, create hearty meals in a well-equipped modern kitchen, enjoy satellite HD-TV, DVD movies & free WiFi. Rely on our charismatic hosts for information about the many spa, shopping, and dining options available at Alta & Snowbird.
Our large master bedroom on the upper floor has 1 queen bed and 2 twins. One main floor bedroom has a queen bed and the other has 2 twin beds. A laundry room is also on the main floor.
Take advantage of our grocery-buying service for a small added fee and there will be no need to rent a car. Free shuttle service from the Christmas through Easter holidays will take you to and from the Alta ski lifts, and free UTA bus service will take you to Snowbird. Your children will enjoy Alta's ski school adventures, and you may opt for private or class lessons for yourself.
Alta summers are punctuated with a profusion of wildflowers and many hiking & biking trails. You may come across moose, coyotes, deer, hawks, marmots, and other wildlife on even short hikes. Enjoy the cool breezes and discover hidden mountain lakes. Snowbird has many summer events and concerts for your enjoyment, and Alta is known for its yearly Wildflower Festival in July.

We just returned from staying at this wonderful home last week and had to write a review because the house far exceeded every expectation we could have had. The kitchen was stocked with all the cookware and utensils we could need, and even had various spices and seasonings we used while cooking. We were aware that there was a washer and dryer, but did not expect it to be stocked with detergent and fabric softener. The fireplace was wonderful, and although there is a large flat screen tv, our family spent every night enjoying the fire and each other’s company. Our daughter is expecting and couldn’t ski, and the house was close enough that we could come home for lunch to see her, and then head back out to the slopes. The care takers Hailey & Travis were more than helpful; making sure we had everything we needed and offering great advice of restaurants to eat at and places to ski. This house really took our Alta experience to the next level! We can’t wait to come back. Thanks Karen!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car.

fantastic house with really great views; incredible location, few steps from Alta and 2 minutes to Snowbird; caretaker on site really helpful with luggage and information; highly recommended for a family vacation; already booked for next year....Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children.

About the owner: I have loved living and working at Alta and am always thrilled when our guests leave with the same love and enthusiasm for my home in the mountains. Alta is so unique, with a personality and vibrancy I haven't found anywhere else. Our home was built to our specifications, and we are constantly updating it for your enjoyment. I had never skied before coming to Alta, nor did I know the meaning of "deep powder snow". Now I do. I can't wait for you to enjoy it too!

I could give so many reasons for choosing to live and work at Alta, but as with so many of the local residents, we have the feeling that Alta also chose us. Its timelessness means that guests and employees either return year after year, or they return after many years. Either way, we are all very connected and love the feeling of knowing we are where we belong.

Besides the most fabulous skiing right outside our door, the Alta/Snowbird ski areas are unique in many ways.
Although Little Cottonwood Canyon stretches 10 miles from the Salt Lake Valley, Alta is the perfect opposite to the urban valley. The natural peacefulness of the mountains, the extraordinary beauty in all seasons, the quiet, the wildlife, the snow, the wildflowers...this is the place to enjoy it all. And yet, the international airport is only 40 minutes away. Grocery stores, malls, and every service are available in the Salt Lake Valley. Great restaurants, ski and rental shops, gift shops, bars, spas, a post office, church, school, medical clinics, and a myriad of other services are located at both Alta and Snowbird. This canyon is the best of both worlds.
