This apartment was just what we wanted during our week in Barcelona. The location is terrific - trendy, quiet, safe, and close to everything! The apartment is well-equipped, cheery, with lots of natural light, and clean. The owner is extremely hospitable, efficient, and a good communicator. The quick Wi-Fi was an added bonus, and the terrace was a lovely place to enjoy coffee in the morning. I would recommend the apartment to a friend or relative.

We could not have asked for anything more. We were thrilled by the location of Annemarie's apartment and loved the multitude of small shops in the neighbourhood where everything we needed was so close at hand. Being away from the hustle and bustle to the south was appreciated and the central location at Casanova and Valencia made for many wonderful days of walking. We found, for example, walks into El Born and Barcelonetta, over to Montjuic and up to the northern end of Passeig de Gracia were easy from the apartment. We found the neighbourhood safe and very quiet and it was so nice to stay amongst locals. Annemarie's apartment is beautiful, spacious and oh, the terrace! To sit out there early in the morning as the city came to life and as the sun set is something we cherish. The roll out awning and umbrella provide all the shade needed and even in the heat of the afternoon, there always seemed to be a breeze to help keep us comfortable.The plants on the terrace thrive in the heat and it was a pleasure to water them for Annemarie. Inside,the artwork, the wonderful lights and the cheery colours all contribute to making the apartment feel like a home away from home. The apartment is spacious and so well equipped. Everything needed for cooking is available and we really appreciated the washing machine. Clean, fresh clothes, hung outside to dry on the terrace is a real treat when travelling. We would unconditionally recommend this apartment. It is exactly as advertised and Annemarie is a pleasure to deal with. She was quick to respond to emails and offered fantastic advice. Wonderful!!

I cannot say enough about our stay in you wonderful apartment! When we first arrived I was dubious. We live in a 4,000 sq ft house and I was surprised by the small size, at first. After one day I was sold. The ambiounce of the apartment and the neighborhood is not defineable. You must experience it to appreciate it! The apartment is wonderful, the neighborhood is the same. On every block or two there are bakeries, meat markets, vegtable stands, sidewalk restaurants reasonably priced. Lana was great! She meets and informs you of everything, and makes sure you have her phone number and email address for any questions you might have. I have never had a better experience that Barcelona and this apartment/neighborhood! The castle on the hill is a must see! We look so forward to returning!!!!

We loved the apartment and we loved Barcelona! We will be back, as there was just not enough time to see and do everything. Lana was wonderful, even finding an English speaking dentist when we needed one. The location is excellent, within walking distance of Casa Battlo and La Pedrera. Taxi's were available at any time (even 6am) right outside the door. We enjoyed the Mercat del Ninot as more authentic than La Boqueria (more touristy), and just a block away. We also enjoyed having a bakery, fruit market, convenience store and Les Gourmets (prepared foods) just outside our door. Out of China restaurant around the corner was a yummy and beautiful meal. Having the outside terrace was fantastic. Perfect for coffee in the morning and a glass of wine at night. The larger, shared terrace (although we saw no one else use it) was great for doing Tai Chi. All of the art and books gave the apartment a warmth not usually found in a rental yet there was plenty of space for our stuff. Our thanks to Annemarie and Lana.

We stayed here for a week and a half in January. The weather was in the 50's and 60's, F, and the apartment was very comfortable. I liked the location as it was away from the tourist areas, but close enough to reach them on foot or public transport. The apartment was as advertised, clean and attractive, although due to the weather we didn't spend a lot of time on the terrace. It was quite quiet, and convenient to local grocers, bakers, and a nice wine store. Instructions were very good, and the gentleman who met us and checked us out was quite helpful. I liked the Mercat del Minot, a market of quality comparable to the Boqueria, but less crowded and very near the apartment. I would certainly recommend this pleasant apartment to anyone.

We have had a wonderful time here. What a well-located apartment! Did make good use of a 2-day on/off bus pass to help us see as much as we could quickly . Lots of walking as well. What a wonderful place! We felt right 'at home' in your comfortable apartment. We made much of your incredible patio (and watered the plants) every morning and evening. One week was too short - we are already talking about coming back for a month. We took your tips and ate at many of the restaurants you recommended and were not disappointed. They were all wonderful! The apartment was everything we expected and more! We found the apartment to be the perfect home base, and were completely comfortable there. The WiFi was great since I had to work from the apartment during our stay. We lacked for nothing and had all the conveniences (supermarket, bakery, wine shop, etc.) within steps of the apartment. The rooftop terrace is an amazing bonus! We spent lots of time there relaxing the morning and evening. The owner was very accommodating and helpful with questions, and the greeter was on-time and available by cell phone. There was plenty of information in the apartment to help travelers feel at home in the neighborhood and in Barcelona. We will be back next summer without question!!

We have loved our five days in Barcelona. Our highlights: . Güell Park . Sagrada Familia . Barri Gotic . Menjador: we ate here the first evening, the food and service were amazing . the marina: - paella and sangria at the waterfront. We saw beautiful boats (we're sailors) and interesting people including a man with a tattooed swimsuit . coffee on the terrace in the morning and wine in the late afternoon . the food market, pastry shop, meat/cheese shop, fruit and veg market right outside the front door . reading in the afternoon when the city ´rests´ Thank you

Loved your place, the terrace is a wonderful sanctuary amongst the hussle and bustle of the city. Watered your plants all week. The weather was a little to hot for us Canadians but managed well thanks to air-conditioning and gin & tonics. Our friend the lizard vanished after the second day. All is well -- we are home after our wonderful 10 days in Barcelona and your nice apartment. We had a very good time and were very fortunate to have almost perfect weather. Hi Annemarie, Finally beginning to feel somewhat normal from the jet travel so I wanted to get a note off to thank you. We had a wonderful stay in Barcelona and found your apartment to be absolutely perfect . We enjoyed your art, substantial library and well-equipped kitchen. I'd suggest a serrated bread knife would be helpful. We particularly enjoyed the light cast by your wonderful lamp in the dining area. I liked the way the patterns of light played off of similar patterns in the adjacent art. We were wondering if you might be able to provide information as to where similar lamps could be found. Soraya thought you could help provide that info. She, incidentally, was most helpful. The permanent market, just as you suggested, was heaven-on-earth for me in the planning and preparation of our meals. We lived in Seattle, Washington, for a few years and that was the last time we had access to such a wonderful array of fresh ingredients. We traded with the merchants who were friendly and avoided the grouches! All in all, an experience to be long- remembered. Thanks for putting up with my many preguntas! Tom Cooper

We are just back from Spain, and wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed your apartment. It was just perfect for our needs, and in such a convenient location. I very much appreciated how safe the neighborhood was. Barcelona really is a fabulous city, and we had a very good time there. Of course we saw all the Gaudi stuff, including the glorious Park Guell which I had not seen before, but what I hadn't known about before was the Palau de Music and the Hospital de St. Pau, both of which were incredibly interesting. We had a fascinating tour of the Palau, so we were able to see the whole interior. I saw them both mentioned in your guest book. We also enjoyed Menjador for dinner, also listed on your map. I think we ate there three times, and liked what we had every time. Again, thank you for allowing us to be in your lovely apartment. It made our experience in Barcelona so much more comfortable and pleasant, and I would certainly recommend your place to anyone wanting a pretty, reasonable and convenient place to stay in the city.

Had a wonderful stay in your cozy apartment! Air-conditioner worked great against intense heat. Used terrace for evening drinks and appetizers. Even cooked a meal or two! Not enought time to see all we wanted to see. Need to return to see the finished Sagrada Familia. Enjoyed walking in the many neighbourhoods in Barcelona. Dear Annemarie, We have LOVED our visit to Barcelona and the Costa Brava for 10 days. What a fantastic country Spain is!! The people, history, art, architecture, food and natural beauty are extraordinary. We can't wait to return! Your apartment is very comfortable and convenient. Dear AnneMarie, Your apartment is a peaceful oasis in a busy city. Gary and I have enjoyed our stay in Barcelona and are grateful for the cool time of the year to travel. When we arrived, Soraya was there to greet us with her beautiful baby - it was reassuring to know there was help nearby if something should come up. This is a great location to metro, trams and many neighbourhoods - we are going to take a day to photograph the lovely buildings and doors in this neighbourhood. We also appreciated your notebook of restaurants and info. Thank you for everything!
