Indian Creek Bed and Stable sits high on a hill overlooking Indian Creek and has beautiful pastoral views and views of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains. It is a unique place, offering vacation lodging for horse & dog lovers, riders and horses in a Barn Villa that sleeps up to 8 people. The center-aisle 10 stall barn has a 2000+ square foot, 3 bedroom apartment upstairs. You don't need to own a horse to stay at Indian Creek. Indian Creek is an excellent destination for families, friends and honeymooners as it is located on a private estate with no other guest. We are dog friendly, so you can even bring your dog to enjoy our private trails (no leash required!).
Indian Creek farm consists of 186 acres which offers 6-7 miles of hiking and riding trails through fields and woods with numerous creek crossings. You can also trailer to great riding trails close by. You can rent a Golf Cart to enjoy the trails and have a picnic next to the stream in our new picnic area.
LOCATION
We are located in Central Virginia in Amherst County in the small rural community of Lowesville, which is in the shadows of the Blue Ridge Mountain’s “Sleeping Giant”. We are located just 12 miles North West of Amherst (15-20 minutes to Sweet Briar College) 45 minutes south of Charlottesville, 30 minutes north of Lynchburg (30 minutes to Liberty University) and 45 minutes east of Lexington (VMI), 30 minutes from Wintergreen Ski area/resort & Tubing
YOUR ACCOMMODATIONS
Go upstairs to find a beautiful 3 bedroom 2 ½ bath 2000+ square foot, fully furnished Villa with a wonderful deck to sit & watch the sun set over the mountains. The deck also has a table with chairs so you can have your meals outside and watch the horses in the pasture below. There is a full kitchen (11x14) with breakfast counter and open family room (20x22) with a 50 inch HD TV which is hooked up to DISH TV . There is a dining room (12.5x17) in case you prefer to eat indoors. The Villa has wireless internet service. There is a laundry room with a washer, dryer and iron. A charcoal grill is located on the lower patio for your convenience. We are 5 miles from Winton Country Club Golf course.
Your accommodations consist of 3 bedrooms:
The Kentucky Derby Bedroom (18x18)
This Master bedroom has a King bed with a private bathroom, 2 nightstands, dresser, TV and a walk in closet.
The Belmont Bedroom (14x14)
Has a King bed and shares the bathroom across the hall with The Preakness bedroom. It also has its own TV, nightstand, dresser and closet.
The Preakness Bedroom (13x14)
Has 2 full size beds and shares the bathroom across the hall with the Belmont bedroom. There is a night stand, TV, dresser and closet.
HORSES ACCOMMODATIONS
We have (6) 12 x 12 stalls and (4) 12 x 14 stalls. Each stall has its own 4 x 4 window and also has its own water. There are 5 grand chandeliers down the center aisle and an overhead light in each stall to illuminate your horse. The main aisle footing is rubber pavers so your horse will be safe. Also on the ground level is a heated and air conditioned lounge/tack room (24x8), powder room, feed room and separate wash stall with hot & cold water (Horses are $30 per night per horse Additional-covers hay/bedding/mucking/use of guest pasture/round pen)
MAIN HOUSE: NEW in 2013- JUST OPENED A B&B IN THE MAIN HOUSE Are 4 Bedrooms each with Private Bath. The Main House does not accept Children or Pets, (Adults only - 2 per room- sorry no exceptions) Rates per Room per night are $150, which include a continental breakfast.

First, let me say, the owners are the best. My family stayed for a four day weekend, and did not want to go home! I can not think of anything they did not provide that we needed. Chris, was so nice to our grandchildren. She explained all about her horses. They were completly spellbound. We are looking forward to going back. Do not hesitate to book your reservation. You will be plesantly surprised!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

A group of four of us had a weekend stay here during a motorcycle trip. The photos don't begin to convey how special this place is. Every room is oversized. Everything was spotless. The beds were uber-comfy. The owners couldn't have been more congenial. They have prepared a binder with everything you want to know about the apartment, local restaurants, stores, and vineyards. The horses are fun to watch, even for the non-equestrian folk. The view from the deck is breathtaking. The down-side was having to go home.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had so much fun! I really needed this! Please reserve the weekend of 26-28 April 2013 for me. We had another great ride. We rode General's Gap and straight up the hill behind your house. Blaze's girth wasn't tight enough and the saddle began sliding off his back. I knew I couldn't stop him on that hill, so I did what I could to stay on. The top of the hill came just in time....laughing. I think one more step and I would have slide of his butt, saddle and all. We laughed so hard.
