This stunning log chalet, named Abardair, was at one time one of Canada's most expensive homes ever to have sold. 10 years old and still looking like new, the breathtaking architecture and interior design make this one of Whistler's very finest residences ever built. Absolutely no detail was spared in its construction and guests are always astonished by its sheer beauty , style and character.
Living in the house is an experience in itself. Spend time in the entertainment room, playing pool with cocktail in hand whilst watching sports on TV, listening to a song on the jukebox or even playing karaoke.
Walk through to the open plan living area and relax in front of a real wood fire on either of the huge sectional couches or hang out in the kitchen on bar stools whilst having some apres snacks. Listen to your ipod music on the house sound system or relax to some live music courtesy of the self-playing piano.
Walk past the dining area out onto the patio and go for a dip in the natural rock pool style hot tub or toast some marshmallows on the open fire whilst the steaks are cooking on the barbecue.
In the summer, there is also a putting green on the artificial lawn beside the house and in the garage, there's table tennis and foosball as well as a bowflex for those wishing to stay strong.
Downstairs, the theater is the perfect room to relax in after a tough day on the slopes. Sit back with a glass of wine whilst relaxing in the massage chair and watch a bluray on the huge 100' screen.
There are 5 beautifully appointed bedrooms all with luxurious linens. The Master Suite occupies the entire top floor with a high vaulted wood/log ceiling and a stunning bathroom that includes a jetted circular tub and large walk-in rainfall shower.
On the main level, there is a separate guest suite within the house which includes an open plan living room & kitchen, laundry, bathroom and bedroom (with a full/twin bunk) - we use the suite as the kids area and let the kids eat/play/sleep/watch tv etc in here.
Downstairs are 3 further bedrooms. One has 2 twins/1 king bed and an ensuite bathroom. The others have a queen bed and twin bunks with a shared bathroom. The home theater is down here too and a queen sized inflatable mattress with full bedding can quickly be set up to accommodate extra guests.
During the winter, skiing is a quick 5 minute downhill walk to the gentle bottom part of the Dave Murray slope which takes you down to the Creekside gondola. In the main village, you can expect to queue for 30 mins then stand on a gondola for 25 mins to get up the mountain. Here in Creekside, you can normally walk straight on the gondola and have your skis on in just 8 mins.
The ski home trail brings you back to the street literally 4 houses along.
There are very few homes in Whistler that can match the facilities of Abardair and there are none that can match the attention to detail and sheer beauty of it. This really is one of Canada's very finest homes.

Booking the place with the owner was a very pleasant process. I was worried that it was too good to be true but the place exceeded the entire groups expectations. This place is perfect for large group retreats and provides the perfect combination of luxury, technology, and relaxation/coziness to make any trip to whistler the perfect vacation. Our group has stayed at many places in whistler over the past decade and this place is by far the best accommodation we have ever had. From top to bottom the house is fully equipped and has everything you need to make your trip to whistler a time to remember. The owner was a pleasure to deal with and the entire group cannot stop talking about the magnificent time they had. Eight of us stayed here for 5 nights during President's Week and everything about this home is wonderful. The last several years we've stayed in luxury VRBO homes in Park City and we all agreed this was our favorite. The home is spotless, the amenities are great and the layout is superb. Super comfortable beds, Fabulous media room, pool and game room and great outdoor hot tub. We had the music playing on the iPad driven system all the time. The house is true ski-in, but a 3 minute slight downhill walk ski out. It's an interesting choice for New Yorkers between Park City and Whistler. It's an extra hours drive and flight, but once there, the mountain is the best skiing we've ever done. We got very lucky on weather with great snow and two sunny days. Also, it is nice to be skiing at lower altitudes and in a non-desert climate. everyone sleeps much better. Whistler Village has almost as many choices as Park City for dining. Certainly for 4-6 nights you won't lack for options. Finally, the owner and house manager are extremely nice and helpful.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We rented the house for a weekend skiing with a group of client friends. The house is beautifully proportioned, fully automated, nicely furnished and well equipped. It's a little bit of a walk to "ski out" to the mountain, but skiing back in to the house is easy. The hot tub is large and unique, and we used it and the billiards room daily. Our family wanted to take a ski vacation to Whistler. Finding a suitable property for our large family and young children is always a task. This house was above and beyond what we expected. Located within walking distance of the slopes, it is the perfect for those that want to ski in and out. The house itself is very well equipped. Outside of being a "smart" house with literally everything being controlled via computer, it is extremely user friendly and comfortable. The steam showers were such a treat after a long day on the mountain. The media room was the perfect escape for those that wanted to enjoy a good movie. Jerry was the most gracious and accommodating host always available for questions or advice. If you're headed to Whistler and want the best, this is the house.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We celebrated a 50th birthday in Whistler and stayed at this house and loved it. The house was amazing and we particularly enjoyed the hot tub, theater room, and large living/dining area. The house was all that was advertised and we really enjoyed our stay. Working with the owner was a great experience as he answered all questions and was very prompt in returning emails. The house location was also great although you probably are best to have a car if you want to spend time in Whistler upper village. We golfed at Whistler Golf Club, road bikes on all the great trails, and walked around one of the many nearby lakes so there is lots to do in the spring & summer season. Overall it was a fantastic experience and we highly recommend it.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our cricket club rented the home for the 2010 Olympics. It is a great home in a great location. The ski in was closed because of the Games but it's just a few minutes away. The hot tub built into the side of the mountain was a massive hit. Can't wait to go back.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
