This spacious 2bdrm/2bth home, offers stunning river, ocean and mountain views. It features wall to wall windows, French doors, traditional colonial terra cotta tile floors, hand-made Talavera tiled bathrooms, cathedral ceilings, patios and large decks. The 20 foot wide deck is perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner, BBQ, reading, napping, or just doing nothing.
You’ll love the unobstructed 180-degree panoramic views from both inside the house and from the glass lined deck: ocean view to the right, a large fresh water estuary below pooling at the ocean's shore, to the left the picturesque mountains frame the morning sunrise. The fresh water river keeps our community vegetation green year round. We are located near La Fonda, 30 mins. south of Rosarito & 35 mins. north of Ensenada.

MAIN HOUSE floor located at street level: sleeps 4 people in beds + 2 on large couches, and plenty of room for a few kids in sleeping bags. Master bedroom has (cal king bed) with en suite bathroom, 2nd bedroom (2 twin beds/if pushed together make a king bed), 2nd bathroom, 2 large/long couches in living room, fireplace, large deck, fully stocked kitchen, the dining table can seat 8 people comfortably/12 snuggly, all bed linens and towels & hair dryer are provided.
ADDITIONAL GROUND LEVEL STUDIO: nestled into the hill, with its own gently sloping private entrance, sleep 6 in beds, open floor plan, full kitchen, living room, dining room, 1 bathroom (full size bed in semi enclosed bedroom, 2 daybeds in opposite corner, livingroom queen fold out futon couch). It has its own large terrace with similar views as upstairs. Available for rental at discounted price to main house renters ($79day/$425wk + $40cleaning fee).
Our community is gated with night security patrol and our house is completely fenced so children and pets can roam safely.
1 car garage + paved parking area for up to 3 cars within fenced yard.
Nature lovers: enjoy the various migrating birds, ducks, seagulls, pelicans, storks, egrets, and native flowers. Stroll along the river, walk at the beach or hike in the mountains.
Beach lovers: short 10 minute walk from our house to our un-crowded beach, swim, surf (near the popular K-58 spot), boogie-board, horseback ride.
Golfers: only 5 mins. drive is the Bajamar ocean front golf course (Ranked 7th out of the top 10 most beautiful courses in the world/3rd in Mexico) 27 holes on Scottish-style links.
Fun Stuff: nearby shopping, dancing and happy hour in Ensenada(25min drive) or Rosarito(25min drive), savory authentic meals 10 mins. away in Puerto Nuevo, ATV rentals at Sand Dunes 5 mins. drive, haciendas/wineries/Spas in Valle de Guadalupe 45 mins. drive.
Safety: you’ve probably heard of conflict happening in parts of Mexico. Fortunately, we are nowhere near any of the problem areas.
Our coastal areas and our community is totally safe and friendly--lots of Americans have lived here full time for over 40 years and the majority of the locals speak English. I drive my nice car south of the border often without any issues.
P.S.: extremely well behaved and completely potty-trained pets that do not scratch doors or chew things while you are gone are Ok (no young puppies please).

This is my first visit to Mexico, and this was nothing short of spectacular. It is about a ten minute walk to a clean ocean beach shore, 5 minutes away from a federally protected bird estuary, and the negative ions from the sea and hilltops are refreshing for any writer seeking to finish a book or novella. I'm not a visual artist but the landscapes available to the naked eye are gorgeous if you value birdwatching. I understand that there are well over 30 varieties of birds. A horse ranch is close by and horseback riding is available on the weekends. I stayed at both the upper level and at the guest house downstairs. Will definitely plan to come back with a group to possibly rent out both units. 1. The listing description is accurate 2. The listing photos accurately reflect the appearance and amenities 3. Great house with a fantastic ocean, river and mountain views! A short walk to the beach. The house is very clean and comfortable, with pleasant interior design. I spent Valenties Week with my lovely wife in this beautiful hourse! I was a surprise for my wife... she had no idea where I was taking her. When we got there she was floored by the breath-taking view! We had a lot of relaxing time, did some hicking, winery visits, visted some delicous restaurants... but most importantly we felt SAFE. The gated community and patrols... we didn't have a care in the world. Definitely a must say location!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners.

We stayed at your wonderful house over the thanksgiving week. Your fully equiped kitchen was great. You are are very correct in that the pictures really do not do this house justice. The views are so much prettier in person than in the pictures. We had a great time. And Mike was so helpful and full of so much information about where to go for fun/food/etc. Thanks. We plan on comming back for the kids spring break. About the owner: I am 39 years old, professional, known for rescuing dogs, wounded cats, birds (i usually manage to find them permanent good homes but have kept the ones no one else wanted, love to garden (both flowers and vegetables, my passion is buying and renovating old homes as well as building beautiful Spanish style homes in Baja.

I fell in love with La Mision from day one. This community has the most picturesque views of all the communities along the northern Baja coast. Being in La Mision melts away all my stress from city living.
