We stayed here for my brother-in-law's 40th birthday. When we travel, we frequently stay at vacation rentals on HomeAway. However, this far exceeded any other vacation rental experience we've had. This place is just incredible. It is so well-appointed and has everything you could possibly want or need. It is the perfect combination of luxury and laid back. We cooked several meals in the kitchen and fished off the dock until our hearts were content. We also canoed down to Blue Springs which was so much fun!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

Our Family Reunion was perfect because of this house. Three families converged from all over Florida and had more than enough room and amenities to relax and enjoy each other's company. We took advantage of the roof top hammock and shaded wooden deck. We jumped off the large floating dock and swam in the river. We used the 5 canoes and kayaks to explore the river and found fossilized shark teeth and bones in the rocky shallows just downstream. The kids caught and released Bass and Bluegill right off the balcony with the provided fishing poles. The large kitchen and table was well appointed and perfect for all our meals. the rooms were clean and comfortable and the top-of-the-line washer/drier allowed us to pack fewer clothes. Plenty of parking and very nice neighbors (thanks for use of the rope swing!) Jennifer (owner) was professional and accommodating. We'll be back for sure!!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

We had a great famiy vacation. Plenty of space and all the amenties we needed. I would absolutely recommend this home and plan to return next year to stay again. Only problem we incured was the river was very low so our Jon boat coud not go enter river near the home, but the owners can't control mother nature. But the manager did advise us on a boat ramp we could use that met the Sante Fe and the Swannee river that was a great treat. I wish pets were allowed but I understand the owners concerns.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

We was only fortunate to stay at Kens Den for four nights but what a brilliant time was had by all, we whent out on the Kyaks every day a first for us, but what a great way to see the river and its wild life (& naked Ed!!!) We even stopped of for a swim at Rum Island absolutley brilliant. The weather was really good but the fireplace looked so inviting that we (the ladies stopped in one evening so we could light it).The house was fully stocked from binoculars to bird spotting books, we couldnt have wanted for anything else, so thank you so much for letting us experiance life on the river front,. We shall be back for sure.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

We stayed at Ken's Den over the Presidents Day weekend (2012) and had a relaxing time on the river and in High Springs. The house is one of the best VRBO's we have ever stayed in and we have been doing this for years. There is literally nothing to complain about. The place was clean, the descriptions were accurate and every time we needed something, with a little bit of looking we found it, The owners have really paid attention. There is plenty of living space for multiple couples or a big family, The outside space allows for people to spread out and the big wrap around couch in the living room can comfortably fit 6 to 8 adults. There are kayaks and canoes for your use and the dock is right in front of the house. Could not be more convenient. The property manager has a great antique/furniture store in downtown High Springs, drives to the property and goes over everything so you are not spending the first 2 hours figuring it out. Just a great VRBO. Oh, do bring drinking water!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

We had a great time at Ken's Den. It was super convenient to all the local springs and downtown High Springs. We kayaked the river and had a blast. We even met local legend "Naked Ed". The place was clean and updated. I recommended it to anyone.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

We have stayed at Ken's Den several times over the years for a week at a time when we just wanted to get away to cozy accommodations and commune with nature. Waking in the morning from a great night's sleep to enjoy coffee and watch the river flow set the stage for a day of canoeing, cycling, swimming or reading. Some happy family memories were made there.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway.
