I have had the pleasure of spending a month at Casita Elena, and cannot say enough about the wonderful landlords and the clean and beautifully decorated historic casita. I came here without my car, but it proved to be no problem, as stores and the center of town is in easy walking distance. The washer and dryer made the extended stay easy, and the generous start up provisions were very helpful. I have felt so cared for and highly recommend this beauty to anyone visiting the area. If you do bring a car, there is parking provided. The kitchen had plenty of utensils etc. to cook great meals, I really enjoyed the fireplace. You will want to come back!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Dear Anne Lise, Thank you so very much for the lovely comments about your stay at Casita Elena. You were a delight and so enjoyed meeting and talking with you. Hope your remodel turned out great! Kind regards, Linda

Thank you so much for such an exceptional experience ! I have stayed in this VRBO several times when I am in Santa Fe, NM. Having lived in Santa Fe for several years, I am aware of the various areas around town and this is an excpetional location. I personally enjoy walking into town and up to the Cathedral from the Casita, yet, at the same time is it quiet and private. PERFECT ! I have often arrived in the evening when it was dark and Linda has made sure the lights are on, inside and out, and I feel completely safe, secure and welcome ! When I stay here, I feel like I am at my "home away from home," no detail has been spared, and the place is immaculate. It truly feels like a "sanctuary" within the City of Santa Fe. Linda is very customer oriented and always happy to help with local recommendations. The photos of the Casitat are terrific, but, I find it even more charming an comfortable.. the beds are super comfortable and having a washer & dryer is a REAL PLUS ! Really came in handy. As a seasoned world traveler, this is one of my favorite places to visit and stay, as it combines a convenient location with convenience and charm, I truly feel like a Princess whenever I stay here ! :)Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

My fiance and I stayed at Linda's charming casita last April. The location is perfect...just a few blocks from the plaza on a quiet back street. When we saw the beautiful, patina'd door and sweet casita, we were instantly happy. Linda had put a bottle of white wine in the fridge to chill, along with eggs, butter and the best bread I've had in a long time. We really appreciated the food for breakfast -- it made our day so much better, starting out with a little breakfast, which allowed us to hit the town with energy for rest of the day. We were very comfortable and would love to come back some time.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

We stayed in the Casita Elena for 6 nights while I attended a meeting near the Plaza, and my wife, a potter, spent her days working with ceramics at Santa Fe Clay. The central location was close enough for both of us to walk, yet felt like it was close to museums, restaurants, and attractions. The apartment was lovely and well-supplied; and Linda the inn-keeper went out of her way to be helpful. We enjoyed out stay and recommend it highly.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Donald for taking the time to write a review; I really appreciate it. So glad that you both enjoyed Casita Elena so much. Kind regards, Linda

Casita Elena is all that it is advertised to be and more. Located in a real neighborhood, yet convenient (walking distance) to all sorts of shops and the Plaza, it is ideal for those, like my husband and myself, who are sharing one car and yet may have different schedules at times. The casita is totally modern but also authentic in its origins. Without sacrificing the perks of contemporary living (cable TV, efficient kitchen), the owner, Linda, has managed to create a charming and comfortable home-away-from-home. You know that the vigas and kiva fireplace are natural elements in this historic building, and Linda's thoughtful touches in choosing the decor add to the feeling that you are in a real home with an interesting history. We would certainly recommend Casita Elena to any couple of any age as a place to call home when enjoying all that Santa Fe has to offer.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

My girlfriend and I had a lovely three nights stay at the beautiful Casita Elena. While the pictures were nice, they did not do justice to this well apportioned space. We found it hard to leave this cozy little casita at night. After all we, were visiting in the middle of February and always had a big fire going at night. When we did venture out we found ourselves walking to the Plaza in less then 10 minutes. As New Yorkers we loved this amenity. We considered staying at a house up on a hill with sweeping views of Santa Fe. But at the end of the day this casita provided us with all we needed to make this winter getaway one we will remember for years to come.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

The casita was ideal in every way. It was a perfect size for two people, beautifully decorated, very comfortable bed, well appointed kitchen stocked with breakfast items, a short walk to the plaza. We appreciated the use of the back patio, thank you Linda!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Casita Elena is beautifully furnished. It's comfortable, spotless, fully equipped. If you like to cook the kitchen is everything you could ask for. If not, there are nearby restaurants a well as shops and museums. The proprietor has thought of everything from perfect decor to a great bottle of wine. Also, she's always accessible. I've stayed in Casita Elena twice and am returning a third time in 2013.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
