Year Purchased: 2010
About the owner: After wandering around the country for a while, I returned to Charlottesville in 2007 to be near family in the area. Although I grew up in Northern Virginia and had family there, I had fallen in love with Charlottesville when I finished my undergraduate work at the University of Virginia. Coming back to Charlottesville felt like coming home, and I decided to buy and settle in for the long haul.
Why the Owner Chose Charlottesville: I bought this house because the weeping cherry tree up the street was in bloom, and when I first looked at the house, I could hear children playing up the street. I liked that it was in a quiet neighborhood with families and mature trees. I loved that almost all of the houses on the street were mid-century modern. I also love that I can walk to football games and be most anywhere in town pretty quickly. And if I don't feel like driving, cabs are inexpensive because of the central location.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment: Walking to the football stadium is a huge plus. I can enjoy tailgates but avoid the traffic issues. I'm 5 minutes from my gym and 5 minutes from my office. I'm also close to many great local restaurants.
