This is a great secure condo; from the outside it doesn't look all that fancy. But the owner has made the inside of this condo awesome. We really did not stay in the room all-day for the entire trip as we were out sight-seeing all the wonders Oahu has to offer. Love the fact that it is all furnished including the kitchen made for easy preparation of meals. Did not use any of the beach equipment, but how awesome it is there for use.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

This condo was a starting and stopping point for a busy 5 days of traveling Oahu, we loved our nightly sunsets and early morning views of the ocean. The Condo was so accomodating everything we needed was there the place itself so well kept and clean. I was worried my husband would have a hard time sleeping without a TV in the bedroom but WOW the sound of the crashing waves purr'd him to sleep everynight, in fact he has said several times he misses the sound of the ocean. Only spent one day on the beach itself but it was also great not a lot of people on the beach the waves were a bit high during the time we were there so I didn't really get in the water much more than my knees but it was very nice and refreshing. As many of the other reviewers had said and I have to agree this is not "fast paced" Wakiki so if that is what you are looking for not the place for you but if you are looking for total relaxation away from hustle and bustle then Go For It. A few things the surrounding area is depressed looking but I think its because its a town of working local people not a resort area---and no real good restaurants close but a 20 minutes back down the road plenty nice places to eat. We are not big restaurant people so Sandwich's and Pizza close by was good enough for us. Not much to see up in that area if you go farther up the coast to where it ends beautiful beach and views. We did not really hang around the area during the day had rented a Jeep and did tons of exploring. North Shore was my favorite area so much to see. In closing for the $$ and cleanliness this place is awesome and the owner Michelle is so accomodating any and all questions I had she handled. Highly recommed if you are like us and need a place to rest your head with a great view and then off during the day for exploring.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children.

What a treat! Going to sleep every night listening to the waves lapping outside your doors. Every morning we would sit and have our breakfast and watch the whales playing in the water. The beach is never crowded and the sand is always clean. Kids and adults have a wonderful time playing in the waves. The unit was clean and very well supplied. The lanai was the perfect place to watch the sunset and then the conch-blowers would announce that the sun was now below the horizon. Would definitely recommend this unit to friends looking for a great place to stay. Michele was easy to contact and very helpful in answering any questions.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We prefer homestays to the cut and dry hotel stays, and this condo has been our most comfortable stay so far. The condo is located on the 4th floor of Makaha Beach Cabanas and has an unbeatable view of the blue sea just 50 ft away. The living room is a bit dark and dingy and you can hear the neighbors, but the bedroom opens out to the patio and is bright and beautiful, and quiet apart from the sound of the waves. Sleeping to the sound of the sea is so relaxing. In the mornings, we spotted a bunch of whales right from our patio! The apartment can comfortably accommodate 2 adults and a child. The owner, Michele was prompt in communication and payments. The list of instructions she provides with the booking is idiot-proof and very thorough. She was also extremely thoughtful with the rental- it had everything we needed, even before we thought of it ourselves. The kitchen had complete cookware, dinnerware and silverware, rice cooker, coffee grinder, blender, coffee and tea, basic spices like salt, pepper and also some extras like brown rice and butter for cooking. The apartment provided good quality snorkel gear and boogie boards, beach chairs, mats and umbrellas, a small cooler for packing 2 sandwiches, laundry detergent, dishwashing soap, fabric softener and even some shampoo and body wash. The little things really made a difference, like the ziplock bags for packing our sandwiches, the spare plastic bags for holding our wet clothes, the flashlights and the cooler. There's even a few USPS boxes in case you shop too much! The area isn't very hip and there are no nice eating places, so we planned our fine dining at the other places we were visiting. But the condo building is safe, and the security guard patrols the corridors at night. The beach in front is private and much better than the packed Waikiki beaches, but I strongly recommend staying in the shallow waters if you're not a strong swimmer. For first timers to the island, remember that you will have to travel at least 1 hr each way to get to north shore or Waikiki, and much more if you get stuck in the rush hour. The Farrington highway is slow speed and often clogged. Almost everything for sightseeing on the island are at least an hour away, so be prepared to drive.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.
Owner response: The living room can be brightened by raising the shades but then you will lose some privacy... I don't think it is "dingy" as furniture is 1 year old, of modern design and condo is cleaned thouroughly after each guest. This is a large 9 floor condo which has tenants/guests coming and going just like a hotel and unfortunately we can't control who is your "neighbor" but overall, you will see very few complaints about neighbors, more complements on how friendly everyone is. Just want to note that items mentioned (food, shampoo/body wash) are sometimes left by previous guests to share with next guests and are not guaranteed to be in the condo. If you come during whale season, bring your binoculars for a better look!

Very pleasantly surprised! We wanted a break from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki and that is exactly what we got. The pictures did not do the condo justice. Everything was so fresh and clean and we loved all the added homey touches! We had everything we could have needed - towels, beach chairs, ice chest, snorkel gear, ect... I was concerned about not having air conditioning but it was not a problem at all. We loved listening to the waves crash right outside and enjoyed the beautiful sunset. We felt very safe given all the security features such as the security gate, the elevator and the entrance gate all opened only by the fob the owners provided. If you have any reservations - Don't! It is well worth the price and the owners are very accommodating!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Great price for a condo right on the beach. Sleeping to the lapping of the waves, beautiful sunsets. A short drive to shopping and dining. Excellent buys at Island Wear at the small, Waianae Mall. Half the price of the same items sold at the Dole Plantation and other stores. We enjoyed shopping for breakfast foods and a local market (fresh papaya, coffee, Portuguese (linguisa) sausage, mini muffins, juice. Even bought a couple of steaks to fix. As usual, ate most of our other meals out. Farrington Hwy. is busy during commute hours, so the trick is to time your departures and returns. There are many schools located along Farrington. Also lots of 7-Eleven gas stations/conveninece stores, several large supermarkets, etc. The closest area for Walmart, Costco, Safeway and many chain restaurants is a short drive to Makakilo/Kapolei. The public can swim in the beautiful lagoons at beautiful, upscale, Ko'Olina as well. The condo was comfortable and contained everything you need for your stay. Very private since the building is a concrete block structure and is very secure with a fob used to enter the parking area, the front gates, and the elevator. A nice change from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki Beach in downtown Honolulu. It was great having a cross breeze come through the condo. The owners are very accommodating and answer their emails quickly. Mahalo for a nice stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Had a great vacation / honeymoon. We were looking for something out of the city areas and we found it. This is now one of my favorite beaches. Snorkeling was great - turtles were very curious, we saw them everyday! Magnificent sunsets! Condo provided everything we needed including boogie board, snorkeling gear, starter coffee (we left some for the next guests). Everything was self explanatory and user friendly. Thanks is all we can say... er Mahalo!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My wife and I had an amazing time at this condo. The owner was great to communicate with via e-mail and payment was easy. The condo had everything you could ask for and more! The owners paid great attention to detail and provided lots of nice 'extras' like beach chairs, a beach bag, boogie boards, etc. The property itself was beautiful, with an amazing view to the beach below. Pictures of the condo online were just as it was in person. Everything was clean, neat and well-maintained. Nice location too as it was out of the way, away from the busier area around Honolulu, yet close enough that everything was just a short drive away. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone considering a stay on Oahu. Thanks for the great time and great memories!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My husband & I stayed here for a week and very much enjoyed it. The condo was impeccably clean, the furnishings modern, the linens high quality, the kitchen well stocked, and the extras such as beach chairs, body boards, umbrella, snorkel equip, cooler, etc. were such nice bonuses.....all adding to the overall experience! The best part though was the view from the lanai and the beach. Sometimes photos only show the views the owner would like to showcase, hiding the parts that are less than desirable. Not so here. Just beautiful view all-round. Close by are the basics - grocery store, few places to eat, banks, etc......but Honolulu, Pearl Harbour, Diamond Head are all very reachable by car. If you have small children beware of the sometimes strong beach break (although Hawaiian children have no problem with this!), however Ko Olina is only 15 minutes away. If you like a place away from the hustle and bustle, but still close enough to the action if desired....this is a great place to stay!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
