A cozy cabin in the woods, far enough away from street traffic noise but not too far from town. The cabin is great for a lazy weekend with friends -- the kitchen has all the cooking equipment you could need and the pot-belly stove is adorable! In the summer, we enjoyed having breakfast in the yard out back during the summer and then riding bikes into town. Definitely will go back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2000
About the owner: The property is a two-story classic A-Frame cabin nestled in the woods along the North Shore of Lake Tahoe and is connected to public land leading directly down to the lake. The room layouts are as follows: First floor - living room, kitchen, dining area, 1 double bedroom w/ attached bathroom; second downstairs bathroom is off of the hallway. Upstairs - 1 double bedroom, 1 queen bedroom, and outside deck w/ stairs to sideyard.
Why the Owner Chose Lake Forest:
The cabin has always been a wonderful base for us to enjoy the great hiking, biking, fishing, and skiing the area has to offer as well as just spending languid days on the beach or in front of a wood burning fire doing nothing but reading a book.
The North Shore, and the Lake Forest neighborhood in particular, is one of the more easygoing and naturally developed areas of the lake and offers many great outdoor activities while also providing you with a level of comfort & entertainment that doesn't have you too far from the beaten track. Boutique little shops, friendly store owners; a small movie theater; large, convenient supermarkets all nearby make our wooded offbeat area not only a peaceful, but also a comfortable and easy place to stay.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
In summer, just hop on a bike and ride a mile into town along a paved path or walk in to spend the morning having coffee or the afternoon shopping or eating in the many good local restaurants.
For those boating enthusiasts, a public boat launch and dock are located just 2 blocks away with ample parking for a trailer on our property; convenience couldn't be much better.
In winter, throw on your boots & thick coats and take your pooch for a quiet walk along serene, snow banked streets for views across the pristine lakefront just 3 blocks away.
If you find the need to venture further, the quaint town of Truckee, or the big city lights of Reno are both less than an hour away.
