Baskins Creek Sounds is our unique Log "Home away from Home" that we make available to those who are looking for a very relaxing setting and atmosphere.

Gatlinburg, Tennessee is a small mountain town bordering the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Our place is within easy walking distance to the center of town or you can walk right up the street and into the park. Pass a gorgeous waterfall approximately 45 minutes away and if you really like to hike, keep going and connect up with many other park trails. We have approximately 200 feet of creek frontage on beautiful Baskins Creek so you can enjoy the sights and sounds you normally find with a mountain stream.

The house has three (3) large bedrooms--- two (2) up and one (1) down and 2 full baths. New bedding includes a King, a Queen, and 2 twins as well as a Queen sleeper sofa. New living room furniture looks great on the hardwood floors. All total, you can enjoy either of three (3) televisions, with DVD and VCR.

The kitchen and dining room is 20’x18’ with a cathedral ceiling of knotty pine that looks great with the log walls. Included is a ceiling fan, island wet bar, and a gas fireplace. Seat 10 comfortably at the dining table and there is also a children’s table for 4.

Open the side kitchen door to enjoy our large screened in porch with an additional table for 4, a couple of unique chairs and a lounge where you can let the creek sing you to sleep. That is if someone doesn’t wake you up on his or her way out the door to the Gas Grill.

The yard is an experience all it’s own. Except for the house the remainder of this beautiful half-acre is filled with unique flowers, trees, and shrubs, all in a nature type setting. It is doubtful that anyone could identify everything but you owe it to yourself to try. There are plenty of places to sit and think, pray, or just enjoy the quietness. You’ll also find birdhouses, fountains, statutes, and stuff just about anywhere you look.

Of course the best way to experience most of this is to park yourself on the 30’ front porch where you can Swing, Rock, or just be Still.

As you can tell, our home is more about relaxing than it is partying. Actually, if partying hard and long is on your mind we had rather refer you to other opportunities.

July 2, 2008 Whew! Time flies by so quickly in a place like this. We had a marvelous stay. Our one minor annoyance was quickly resolved. I thank you for that. My daughter and I enjoyed the opportunity to cook for our families and enjoy the meals together at the large table. My two teen grandsons and 8 yr old granddaughter watched as a turtle dug the hole to lay her eggs, birds perched to sing to us and the aroma of the flowers and honeysuckle. The cabin was a delight with all the interesting pieces and unique way you have employed them. Even the rain was pleasurable from the back sleeping porch. We hate to leave and hope to see you again. June 18-25 A short note of thanks from our family to your family for sharing your home with us. We certainly enjoyed each and every day of our stay and will always remember our family vacation in the Smokies. This has been our home away from home and will be our next visit to the area. May 25, 2008 Once again, we really enjoyed our stay in your “comfy cozy cottage”. We always enjoy the Gaither concerts, our meals we have together, the times of fellowship and being at your home. There wasn’t anything we needed that we did not find in your well equipped kitchen, oh, there is one thing—a machine that magically takes the calories out of our food. Thank you from the three college (Asbury) friends, couples, from way back. MD, GA, KY June 18-25

March 16-21, 2008 Thank you for sharing your wonderful retreat with us. After many visits to Gatlinburg over the years, I do believe that we have found the perfect spot. We felt right at home. As a special treat on this visit, we had snow on the mountains near Clingmans Dome. We all enjoyed a good snowball fight and the delicious 2 to 3 feet long icicycles. We also enjoyed our three hour hike into the park at the end of the road. (Just up from the cabin) There was so much to see. There are actually remnants of old house places along the trail. Thanks again for the wonderful visit. The “N” family

March 21-25, 2008 The cabin was more than we expected. The pictures could not convey the absolute beauty and tranquility of staying here. We all went to church on Easter and was truly blessed. All of our needs were met and the comfort was astounding. Both of our families enjoyed everything. We even got snow on our visit. Our prayer is that many will continue to rest and reflect how truly God blesses us with our hearts desires. Thank you Gregory’s for allowing us to be here. The “M” family

Greeting from Southern Indiana. What a wonderful and beautiful place to spend a lovely fall break. The house and surrounding outside areas were absolutely perfect for relaxing & the kids had an awesome time running, playing & laughing through the yard. As a family we have been coming to Gatlinburg for a fall retreat since 1993. This cabin has been the best! We hope to be able to return each year. Thank you for the wonderful memories we will take back to Indiana. The “A” family---“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
