  Bula From the moment of arrival and Radjesh picked me up at the airport I knew I had choose the best spot for my holiday. Radjesh was to become my number one taxi driver and guide around Savusavu. Pointing out places, people and of course answering my many questions about the area. I could not believe the view (and still cant) that Villa Vanilla offered. From the moment you wake up and look out of the big bi-fold doors and across the tropical gardens to the beautiful stunning bay of Savusavu to the time you sit on the balcony or in the pool at the end of the day to watch the sunset you are in heaven. Villa Vanilla is beautiful decked out with a separate kitchen and bathroom with a very large balcony that overlooks the bay and pool. Unfortunately you can not capitulate this ever changing view in just one picture, which was a shame. Use came every few days to clean your room and do your washing. She has the most beautiful laugh which rang out over the balcony. I miss hearing her. It must be noted that Savusavu is not a raging modern hip place with restaurants and bars everywhere.(If you want Bali, this place is not for you) Savusavu is a village town with the most friendly people you will ever meet who will welcome you at every opportunity. It has a few great places to eat such as Surf n Turf, (The Seafood Lovers Red Curry is absolutely yummy) Captain Cafe at the Copra Shed and Country Kitchen amongst a few. Or you can buy a few things at the daily local market and supermarket and cook your own. Things to do include the Waterfall (dont forget your bathers), snorkeling, drive over the hills to Labasa (check out the Hindu Temples - we found 4), or most importantly just lie in your own pool at Villa Vanilla and soak up the awesome views and just relax. Of course none of this would be possible without Mario and Tatijana. Mario was most helpful from the first email and both were lovely and warm hosts and so easy to chat and get along with. If you ever needed anything they were there. So thank you so very much Mario and Tatijana for a fantastic holiday, the snorkeling and Kava ceremony.( A great night) and for the tears I shed as I left you and this beautiful Island.   First of all the owners Mario and Tatjana! Thanks for our wonderful stay! We loved villa vanilla,and we loved our hosts, what a beautiful place you have made! You made us feel comfortable from the first moment, it was like staying with friends, it was staying with friends! I hope we will come back some day! We will nebpver forget the wonderful views, eating breakfast on the terrace and enjoying the silence and beauty of the place... We loved it all!

  We are a family of four (9 and 4 y/o girls), and the house was just great. The facts: - Mario and Tatjana are the most welcoming and helpful of hosts, made the experience a pleasure - The pool is just the right size to cool off after travelling around - Getting some home made Indian from next door was a real bonus - Savusavu has everything you need, sitting around the Copra Shed having a coffee was most relaxing - Consider getting a small four wheel drive, easier with kids - Must go and see the dolphins.

  We spent a wonderful 6 weeks over Xmas and New Year 2012/2013 at Villa Blue Banana. The owners Mario and Tatjana were so kind in giving us any support, including fresh fruits from their beautiful garden or low cost transportation if needed. Together we made very nice trips by car and boat for sightseeing and wonderful snorkeling. Exploring the natural beauty of Vanua Levu and meeting its friendly people was an exciting experience. Due to the location of the villa high up the hillside and the considerable distance to the town of Savusavu however it is recommended even for fit guests to rent a car in order to get around on the island (for shopping, dining, beach life, snorkeling and sightseeing). We can recommend this property for both relaxing and adventurous holidays. Ulrich & Edith Kull, Switzerland

  One month in paradise ! Because of the Fijian welcome, the kindness and availability of our hosts, the beautiful scenery. Also the calm of a beautiful villa nestled atop a hill overlooking the beautiful bay of Savusavu full of delicious fish.The villa is fully furnished and a few kilometers from the city where you will find everything you need and a market with daily fresh fish and local vegetables. Beach and boat fishing are just down the hill. For a few FJD you can visit the interior of the island with a taxi driver very attentive to your needs and who knows perfectly the area or ask your hosts. So do not miss this opportunity to spend a great holiday !

  Mario and Tatjana are the best hosts anyone could ever ask for and still surpass your expectations. They took care of us and directed us to neat places and things to do and got us the best values. They made our 15 year anniversary extra special and arranged an amazing dinner for us at a awesome sea side setting, took us there and then picked us up afterwards. Fiji was truly a different experience and a well needed slow down from the everyday hectic life. Sunshine Villas is an awesome quite location, with wonderful views and two pools. Value wise you can't beat it! Two of the most genuine folks you will ever meet and I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. They felt like family to us and we miss both of them.

  I stayed at the Villa Vanilla for 9 nights in Nov-Dec 2012 and had such a phenomenal time i extended my stay 2 extra days. The Villa Vanilla was not quite finished back in Sept when i booked my accommodations there but i had a feeling from the photos that i had seen of the progress being made that it would be a perfect place to stay...perfect doesn't do it justice. You also can not beat the price...i live in Los Angeles and a Villa similar to the Villa Vanilla here would be hundreds a night...The Villa Vanilla sits on top of a hill over looking the Savusavu bay and has some of the most breathtaking views I have ever seen. The villa itself is adorable, very clean, modern, and cozy. The studio has 2 large doors with windows which open to the patio over looking the bay so the views are always within eyesight. There is a quaint kitchen which has everything you could need...we spent many mornings and nights making dinner and breakfast and enjoying it on the balcony. I also have to mention the pool...the views from the pool are breathtaking. After a long day exploring the town there is nothing better than jumping in that pool with the million dollar views. Mario and Tatjana (the owners) were extremely accommodating from the first email i sent inquiring about the property till the very last day. They went the extra mile to ensure we has a rental car sorted to accommodating us the 2 extra days we wanted to stay. Fresh papaya and pineapple were brought to us regularly and there was even laundry service and maid service a few times a week. They were a complete delight! As for Savusavu itself...the town is full of the friendliest faces you will ever see. Surf & Turf (in my opinion) has excellent food and Decked out Cafe is a great place to relax, look at the marina, and have a Fiji Gold (or 2!) As for diving...there is no better diving than Namena Island which is an hour away on a chartered boat. Chimneys and Grand Central station are considered some of the best dive sites in the world and I HIGHLY recommend KoroSun Divers (dive boat) to be your go to place for diving adventures! Ask for Colin or Janine...they are the absolute best. I can not say enough good things about my time in Savusavu...the Villa Vanilla far exceeded my expectations. I WILL be back and Im bring my whole family next time. Bula and Vinaka Mario and Tatijana!!!!!

  We are a young couple travelling on a budget. Destination: the World. First stop: Fiji. We booked the Blue Banana Villa for almost two weeks and this place is as peaceful as advertised. For us, it was the perfect way to enjoy Savusavu and its surroundings. We were unlucky enough to get about 5 days of rain and cloudy weather, which we used to relax onto this tidy property. As we were undecided about what to do on Vanua Levu, Mario and Tatjana (who were the perfect hosts, as discreet we needed !) were really helpful concerning their proposal of activities and the people they put us in contact with. Special mention to the taxi driver and the car rental ;) Oh, by the way, getting our laundry done once a week was a really appreciated convenience. We would return to Villa Blue Banana anytime.   We stayed in the villa located on the hill, overlooking the garden, the sea and the mountains, for 5 days and loved every moment of our stay. The owners Mario and Tatjana, as well as their pets were hospitable all the time. The quiet location of the villa is brilliant too. There is a walking distance to the snorkelling sites and to the Savusavu town, though one needs good physical condition to climb up the hill to the villa. The owners are building two more villas on the hill, both having a pool access, and after finishing these buildings the resort will be complete. Hence it will always remain a peaceful holiday destination.

  Bula Fiji travelers! We are a Canadian couple who booked a stay at the Blue Banana for a month, and ended up staying almost eight weeks February – April 2012. In our 50’s, we have done a lot of traveling, and found Savusavu to be way up there for friendliness and safety. In addition, our stay at the Blue Banana really made it for us. Mario and Tatjana were fabulous hosts and will assist with any details requiring local knowledge. They were thoughtful and friendly, yet aware of their guests’ privacy. Mario arranged a successful fishing excursion, for us and the guests at Villa Maracuja, after which we all enjoyed a great walu (white meat, unbelievable taste) BBQ together. The Blue Banana was a perfect fit for us. We loved the huge deck with the spectacular view over the palm trees and across the bay, the personal space, the beautiful garden and the refreshing, clean swimming pool. We drank clean Artesian water straight from the taps. The furnishings are comfortable, and the shower and bathroom are amazing - there is as much piping hot water as you need. The bedroom must be the quietest one in the South Pacific! The Blue Banana is spotlessly clean, and housekeeping is provided twice a week, together with an in-house laundry service, allowing even more time for R&R. We found everything we were looking for right in our area. There is good snorkeling close by, right off the shore at Split Rock. We enjoyed the walk along the bay into town for shopping, the market, or a cold beer. When laden down with supplies, we returned by taxi. The taxi drivers, servers, and store clerks in Savusavu are friendly and helpful. For rainy days, we had our own supply of books and crossword puzzles in addition to the satellite TV and wireless internet provided at Blue Banana. The wireless service, Vodafone, was very good and quite reliable, as the tower is near to the property. Enjoy your bula time in Fiji !! .
