This home was the perfect place for me to stay several months . It was immaculate ! And so warm and homey. Lovely neighborhood to take long walks, minutes from the grocery store, excellent restaurants and great shopping close by. I loved it. The owners were so welcoming and responsive. Wonderful experience and I will stay there again !Recommended for: People with disabilities, romantic getaway, girls getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: What a wonderful delight to have you for the three months. Quiet as a mouse and yet fun to be around. You are right one of the reasons our travelers love the area is how quiet it is and how close the stores are to our home. We want you to come back anytime. Thanks for leaving the home in such clean condition. We look forward to your next visit.

I was coming to Austin for work with a client/friend and we decided to come in a few days early. We couldn’t have stayed at a better place. My friend had never stayed at a VRBO rental before and she absolutely loved it. Bob was there to greet us when we arrived and walked us through the amazing house we rented. There was plenty of space, clean, the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. It was in a beautiful quit neighborhood, you really felt like you were at home. I will defiantly stay here when I return to Austin.Recommended for: People with disabilities, sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: It was great to see your business trip turn into fun. I must say you two are power shoppers. Glad our home was your base for a great trip.

We found this property on VRBO and were SO pleased with everything about it. The pictures of the property are wonderful, but if you can believe it, it is even better in person!. The house is very comfortable, well-built, has every amenity possible, and feels extremely safe. We stayed here for 3 weeks while finishing up a 5 month remodeling project on our house, so this was the perfect house for us due to location and size for my husband and me and our 2 year old son. Bob and Carolyn are wonderful and made sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable (despite our feeling of being "homeless" due to the remodel taking place). Our 2 year old son LOVED their spacious backyard and side patio. They were always so welcoming and sweet to him and even let us borrow their grand kids' wagon--Bob washed it and had it all cleaned up for our first ride!! You will not be disappointed with this property. We plan to use this for family when they come stay for longer periods of time. It's truly a wonderful little gem!Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+.
Owner response: We love to have travelers to Austin and we also love to have neighbors who need housing for short terms too. We know about having to live in another home while your home is being remodeled. We love having families with children or grandchildren too. Our back yard is very large and quiet safe and stays shaded most of the day. Glad your home is not finished. We look forward to having your family stay with us in the future.

My husband and I spent a wonderful week here. The home is spacious and welcoming - as are the owners. It was even better than we expected. We were very fortunate to have found it and would recommend it to anyone seeking a lovely, quiet place to stay in Austin. It is no more than 15 minutes to everywhere you can want to go. We will definitely be staying there again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: Sara, It was our pleasure to have you and your husband. Come back anytime we love having grandparents and grandchildren visit.

This home in the Northwest Hills was absolutely wonderful, as are its owners and hosts. As described on the website, it has a great living room and kitchen, two sizable bedrooms with large walk-in closets for all of your luggage and goods, and a covered garage plus a nice backyard. The rooms were all clean and well stocked with everything from basic foods to bathroom items. The location is great, especially if you are a family wanting a great base to explore Austin and surrounding areas. Perhaps the greatest thing about this property are its owners Bob and Carolyn. Everything was ready for us on arrival thanks to the two of them and their thoughtfulness. Whatever we needed in our stay was available, and they both made sure that we had an optimal vacation in their property. Honestly, they provided just the right amount of 'touch' in terms of interacting with us so we felt provided for while at the same time having the house feel like our second home. The next time we are in Austin, we definitely would want to stay in this home. I highly recommend the warmth and experience.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, families with young children, age 55+.
Owner response: We love having your family. The children were delightful pushing the wheelbarrow and pulling the wagon in the back yard. We love children and granchildren and we like to see them have fun. Thank you for the wonderful care you took of our home while you were here. Remember you are welcome anytime you come to Austin. Keep us up to date on the new move and the children. Bob

Relaxing and fun is a short version of our experience and we came to Austin to visit our 17 month old grandson. Our first home rental was a great experience & felt like anything but a rental. My wife & I felt everything was spot on......accurate web site of the property, the home was private, immaculate, comfortable, well furnished and very well maintained including a great patio and grill to use. The owner & his wife were gracious, helpful, responsive and made us feel right at home including bringing over fresh picked vegetables several times during our stay. A one car attached garage was nice too. The physical location is great and as well within a 5 minute drive of all the local grocery, general shopping & local restaurants you could need and 15 minutes from several big malls all connected to the MOPAC highway. In the mornings and evenings expect to see a few deer walking down the street now and then. All that and you're probably only 15- 20 minutes from downtown Austin. We would recommend this home rental to anyone looking for a relaxing & comfortable stay. On a scale of 1 to 10 we'd give it a 15.Recommended for: People with disabilities, sightseeing, age 55+.

We stayed for two weeks in this spacious, spotless, and comfortable home. The owners made our stay very pleasant, and offered us fresh organic herbs and vegetables from the garden. Bob & Carolyn take pride in their home and helped us with every request. The location has great access to Mopac, as well as a grocery store, pharmacy, and several restaurants. Many beautiful deer can be seen every day in the neighborhood.Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with teenagers, families with young children, age 55+.
Owner response: Mireya, it was fun to see your children and family enjoy the back yard. We have lots of grandchildren and welcome those who do. Having lived in Austin and having family here to visit I am sure helped to make the visit even better. We enjoyed meeting some of your family and friends. Come back to see us. Bob and Carolyn

We stayed at this lovely home when my son graduated from seminary at Austin. The two bedrooms worked out beautiful as did the patio, sun-room, living room and kitchen. We were able to cook out on the grill for a graduation party for about 15 people and had a really wonderful experience. (so much better then if we had booked a hotel room) The owners were most friendly and accommodating, they even provided us with fresh vegetables out of their organic garden...YUM! The property looks exactly as pictured on the internet and I would highly recommend this property to everyone! IT WAS GREAT!Recommended for: People with disabilities, sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: What a joy it was for us to meet your family. It was so much fun for us to provide some fresh vegetables for your grill night. Please come back to see us soon and bring the family with you. Bob

Beautiful, near new, residence with all the amenities discribed. Owner was very happy to help us with directions and tips about getting around Austin. The weekly Farmers Market was a real treat. We visited the LBJ Library in town and really enjoyed the tour of the ranch west of Austin. ( nice day trip or overnight to visit historic Fredricksburg ) Another day trip to College Station and the Bush Library. A weekend trip to San Antonio to visit the Alamo and River Walk is a must. Downtown Austin is awesome. We really enjoyed meals at The Driskill, Bess's Bistro, & Austin Land & Cattle. A walk on the trails near the river will settle a big lunch. We walked to the nearby Starbucks and grocery store several time. Whether business or pleasure you will have a relaxing time at this rental.Recommended for: People with disabilities, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+.
Owner response: What a treat it was to have you and Nancy in our home. We loved seeing you fire up the grill even during the cold weather. You are a five star chef on the grill. Come back anytime and thanks for being such 5 Star guests. Bob and Carolyn

The Northwest Hills Hideaway was the perfect place for our Austin visit. The spacious, meticulously maintained property proved to be even more inviting and comfortable than its description. The open area with great seating and an interesting collection of DVD's and books was an excellent gathering place for our family in Austin to visit us. The luxurious master bath was a treat. We thoroughly enjoyed our walks in the beautiful neighborhood. Our hosts were attentive to our every need and wonderfully gracious. We look forward to staying in this property again.Recommended for: People with disabilities, sightseeing, girls getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: It was a true joy to have your family spend some of the Holidays with us. We enjoyed meeting everyone and loved the time we had to visit. Always know you are welcome and let us know when the Grandbaby arrives.

About the owner: Our passion is to provide an outstanding property where our guests will continue to come back year after year. We have a large family with 10 grandchildren and more to come so having a home large enough for families to be able to come to Austin and share a home with friends is important for us. We are serious organic gardeners so our home and landscape is never treated with pesticides. This property while attached to our home is completely separate. You will be impressed with the wonderful decor and amenities.
Why the Owner Chose Northwest Hills:
We would live no place else in Austin. Some homes in the area have stunning views, others offer level tree lined streets. Tucked away from the City noise and traffic, yet minutes away from everything.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The Northwest Hills area is located in the heart of Austin, yet the neighborhood offers a quiet place to retreat. Austin's finest major shopping centers such as the Domain and Arboretum are just minutes up the road. Yet, local shopping offers everything you need and you never have to get onto any major highway. Grocery stores, post office, UPS, Banks, Pharmacies, restaurants, cleaners and Starbucks are just blocks away
