This is a extremely nice home/cabin with outstanding mountain views. It is clean, comfortable, and has plenty of room. The people who own the cabin were great about everything--including a short notice reservation. My wife referred to the decor as "classy country." We have a dog who is an important part of our family so the fact that this cabin is "pet friendly" was essential for us. I was a bit skeptical about renting a cabin online sight unseen, but this one was great--and in a beautiful location as well. We were very pleased (in addition to being a bit surprised at how nice the cabin was). Two thumbs enthusiastically up and our dog Ranger agrees ( Two toes enthusiastically up).Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The owners are so easy to work with. The ad/photos don't do it justice. I love this place and it can only be seen in person. Perhaps the greatest part is its central location -- all within a hour (mostly less) Murphy, NC, Franklin, NC, Hiawassee, GA, Helen, GA, Lake Chatuge (with several recreation areas - we put our kayak in here), Wayah Bald, NC (5300ft peak easily driven to), Stone Indian Mountain, NC (6 miles of gravel Forest Service road, then 2.5 miles ALL UPHILL hike to the summit and so worth it!!), Cleveland, GA (home of Babyland General Hospital; where Cabbage Patch Kids are born - yeah, weird for this dood!). We got so much out of this 3 day stay. The house only added to the experience...every evening spent grilling out on the spacious deck overlooking the facing ridge, which, btw, happens to be none other than Brasstown Bald - the highest point in Georgia. Overall, the cabin was clean, in a great location (go to the Ingles' grocery just a 1/2 mile east on highway 64 instead of the Wal-Mart in Murphy!!) and had excellent views/privacy/accomodations! Thank you!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: Thanks so much for your gracious comments and information on the area attractions. We welcome you back anytime. Thanks for your stay at Beartree Cabin. Myra

We truly felt at home in this cabin! We could have stayed forever. Clean, well furnished, amazing view and plenty of outside room on the deck. The owners were very personable and worked with us to make our last minute reservation work! The central location was perfect for me, my husband and our two 5 year olds and our chihuahua. We visted the local Crane Creek winery just down the road from the cabin and the gracious owners let us wander the property and explore their garden. We were very close to two recreational areas on lake Chatuge- 15 minutes to Hiawassee where the beach also has a playground. It was very easy to make day trips to the NOC for whitewater fun, Helen, Ruby Falls, Bryson City (train ride), Blood Mountain and Vogel State park all about 40 minutes with amazing mountain scenery. Each afternoon we'd enjoy a beautiful drive back to our cabin, exhuasted from a day of exploring. We'd prepare dinner and sit on the deck until the sun went down. This will be our new base camp for our annual mountain trips! By the way, check out STRUTS shoe store in HIawassee- amazing selection and great prices!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
