There are no granite counter tops or stainless steel appliances to scratch - just simple living that allows you to relax and not worry …It’s a place to retreat, create, play, rejuvenate and be…
The Blue Lake Springs Community Center is just 5 minutes – or less down the hill by car and shopping at Big Trees market is only 10 minutes or so, Big Trees national forest with some of the largest trees in the world is a 10-15 minute drive up hwy 4 and Bear Valley is 20-30 minutes up hwy 4 as well…it’s close to everything but feels so far away . We love climbing the hills behind the house into the national forest and taking long hikes on the cross country ski trails.

My wife and I stayed here with our kids (6 and 8) for a three day weekend. The cabin had everything we needed to relax, watch movies, prepare meals, etc. The kids loved the loft which was also great for us since it gave us quiet time to relax downstairs by the fireplace after a day at Bear Valley. The owners were very nice and easy to work with too. I'd definitely recommend it to others.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

The house was very charming, had a spacious 2nd floor "loft" with a half bathroom, an old fashioned western/woodsy/country theme throughout, and was equiped with tons of comforts to make our stay so relaxing and enjoyable! The bedding, beds and many other items were of good high quality-somewhat of a rarity today. I especially loved unwinding in the jacuzzi. The wood burning stove was another plus. This home faces the forest so it's private and the views were amazing. We, including our dog, were lucky to get away from our busy lives to experience a fun, laid-back, peaceful family holiday!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, pet owners, girls getaway, families with young children.

We really enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin bordering Big Trees park. This is a very comfortable two-bedroom cabin with a loft. The two bedrooms downstairs have lodgepole pine beds and are very comfortable. There are three beds upstairs in the loft. The wood burning fireplace keeps the living room warm, and the easy chairs are very comfortable. The downstairs bathroom was recently remodeled and is very nice, and there is an upstairs bathroom in the loft. There is cable TV and DVD with a nice flatscreen TV. However, there is no internet, and unreliable or no cell coverage -- also no dishwasher. The owner's daughter handles the rentals and she seems very nice and pleasant to deal with. This is a great cabin for a ski trip for a small family. Overall, this is a very comfy cabin that looks like it has really been loved and well maintained by its owners.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

We loved the location of the cabin. It was quiet, and great for walking the dog thru the neighborhood. We also liked hiking up the hill behind the house. We used the king bed and 2 of the loft beds and all were very comfortable and warm w/ the flannel sheets. Some of the pillows could be replaced since they were a little too flat to use. It was convenient to have 2 bathrooms, but there weren't enough hand towels upstairs for the bathroom. The living area was cozy and we loved the recliners. It was also nice that there were a few throw blankets down there to curl up with. The wood burning stove made everyone warm and toasty too. The dining table was the perfect size for eating and playing board games. The kitchen was small, but functional for our family of four. The electric griddle was a big help on our pancake morning. It would have been nice to have a dishwasher, but there really isn't room for one. Some new cookie sheets would be nice. The ones we found looked pretty worn out. Overall, we had a nice stay at the cabin, but the 11am checkout time was tough because we had to finish 2 loads of laundry between the sheets and towels and we didn't even use all the beds. We got up at 8am to get it all done and barely made it out by 11am. A later checkout would have been great. The owner's daughter was very responsive on email with any questions that I needed answered before we booked the rental. I would recommend the Snowshoe Brewing Company in Arnold for lunch or dinner.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children.
