Wonderful Winter Weekend

Guest: Karin N (New York City)
Date of Stay: 01/01/08 Review Submitted: 01/29/08

We had a wonderful time. The cabin was beautiful and cozy and we didn't want to leave at the end of our weekend. Coming from New York City, we really wanted to get away. The weekend in the country was exactly what we needed.

Owner response:Peg & the entire staff at Apple Valley Log Cabin would like to thank Karin for her kind words and as we continue to strive for quality in sharing this wonderful, affordable, eco-friendly vacation home experience with all our guests.

Dear Peg, THANK YOU for allowing us to rent your wonderful cabin for New Year's Eve!!! It was the perfect thing to do for the occasion and an ideal place for our family. We hope to return in the warmer months -- it looks like it would be extremely beautiful there in spring and summer. Thanks, too, for sending the list of things to do -- we went for a great hike in the D.A.R. Forest, which we probably wouldn't have thought of if not for your message. With sincere thanks and best wishes for the New Year, A.L., Groton CT

Great Time at Apple Valley Log Cabin

Guest: Valarie D (-)
Date of Stay: 09/09/11 Review Submitted: 10/03/11

Our group had such a great time at Apple Valley Log Cabin in September. There were originally 7 adults in our group, with a late last minute addition. Peg was very accommodating in allowing the additional guest and amending the contract. Thanks Peg! The house was PERFECT for our group, quiet, peaceful, and close to rafting! We had such a great time and plenty of room to stretch out. The living room, dining room, and kitchen were large enough to comfortably seat our entire group. I was worried about only one bathroom, but it worked out fine. Everything was in great working order, and very clean! I highly recommend Apple Valley Log cabin if you're looking for a peaceful, private get away! Thanks again!

Apple Valley Log Cabin Is The Best

Guest: JB - Boston, MA (-)
Date of Stay: 04/01/11 Review Submitted: 04/07/11

Hi Peg! I just wanted to send you a quick note thanking you for another AMAZING time at the cabin! Our friends absolutely loved the place and we couldn't stop talking about when our schedules could match up again so we can come back. We were also really impressed with how well maintained the house is. We haven't been there since 2008 and yet it felt like it had been just yesterday that we were there. We can tell that the house is very well cared for and it is just such a wonderful place to be able to vacation. I also wanted to thank you for allowing us to have a late check out. I know we weren't able to stay the extra night but having us check out late was very thoughtful and much appreciated! The weekend was great and I even loved the hike we went on (which is a big deal since I would generally enjoy reading with a glass of wine more than hiking through snow!). Please keep us posted of any specials you may have through the spring and summer, as we look forward to being able to get back there soon! Also, on a side note, if ever in the future you plan on selling Apple Valley PLEASE consider letting us know as we have discussed being very interested in a property like that to be able to escape to on weekends and summers and to bring future children to! And we're a little biased that Apple Valley is just the best! Thanks so much & best regards!

This was our second winter visit and again had a wonderful time. We hiked up trails in the backyard and adjacent to the property and enjoyed the beautiful winter woods. It was great to get out of the city and enjoy this comfortable, warm, quiet cabin in the woods again. Rebecca ,John and "Sadie the dog." -Rebecca +John, Roslindale,Ma. Wonderful, Restful two day stay. Beautiful fall colors

Guest: Beanajon (El Cajon, CA)
Date of Stay: 10/04/10 Review Submitted: 11/08/10

My wife and I stayed at Apple Valley for two nights on October 4/5, 2010. The cabin is in a beautiful location and was very private. We cooked our own dinners (lobster from Maine) both nights and all essential utensils were readily available in the well-stocked kitchen. We really enjoyed walking about the property and neighborhood and we were only 1 hour from the Norman Rockwell museum. Thank you Peg and Jackie for taking care of everything! Our stay was wonderful and we recommend Apple Valley cabin to anyone who will appreciate it's setting. Just save a date for us as we plan on returning!

Our family just got back from Apply Valley Log Cabin couple weeks ago and Absolutely LOVED IT! The cabin itself was very clean and was equipped with everything we needed. Was a very peaceful fun experience and would do it again with our family. We went up there with 6 people, and there was plenty of space. We picked blueberries every morning and made pancakes, and walked 10 minutes down the road for some fresh eggs from a local chicken farm. We spent most of our time hiking and doing activities at Zoar adventure sports, but also visited local shops and restaurants. Our little sister is going off to college this fall, and this was a great vacation to just relax and get away from it all and reconnect as a family. (No cell coverage=) Loved it! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get away and just re-energize from our daily life. No doubt I'll be visiting the cabin again real soon.

a lovely cozy log cabin and a fine restful time

Guest: Don (Brookline, MA)
Date of Stay: 07/01/10 Review Submitted: 07/06/10

Peaceful, quiet, cozy place, with a well equipped kitchen. Nicely off the beaten path, and very close to Zoar. We had a great time. The owners clearly put a lot of thought into making this a comfortable retreat. Very well maintained. We enjoyed hiking on local land preserves and bike riding in the area, then dinner on the deck. Hope to be back for some cross country skiing in the winter. If you go during the season, don't pass up the Ashfield Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings. Great people and produce.

Owner response:Wooo-hoooooo, thank you so much Don for the review. We are aiming for a quality experience at the cabin for our guests and it is always gratifying to feel that we have hit the mark! Thanks again & pls come back next year.

Apple Valley Log Cabin was the perfect setup for our family. We did not spend a lot of time at the cabin, but the patio and yard were the best part. Great place for morning coffee and afternoon drinks. Very relaxing. Spent one evening watching the fireflies dance around. Fun time had by all. Thanks
