Though we were only able to spend two nights, we thoroughly enjoyed our time. It was wonderful to be so close to the heart of Portland, then retreat to incredible peace and serenity by the river. Every morning we sipped coffee from the comfort of our bed while enjoying a magnificent view. Each evening was bliss by the river watching the abundant bird life. Simply beautiful. We'll definitely be back!

Staying here is truly living the dream. Everything about the place from fantastic view to the tasty treats exceeded my expectations. It's close enough to downtown, yet a world away - very private and secluded. The hot tub on the river is beyond delightful. Sara is a great hostess and has created a wonderfully relaxing retreat. She also gave me one of the best massages of my life. This is where I will stay whenever I am in Portland from now on and I can't wait to return.

Sara love- I cannot thank you enough for sharing your wonderful oasis with me. The moment I walked down the steps to the entrance of the house and the back yard- I knew my soul was finally complete! :) For the first time in my life- God said you are home! Your place put all my broken pieces back together again. The serenity and powerfulness of your home has done and continues to do amazing work in my life. I love being able to come here and bask in the peacefulness! :) You and Fred are amazing! Thank you SO much for taking the time to think of others and opening your place up! Because of that amazing faith you have- you are touching so many! Continue to do what you do baby! :) Looking forward to spending some more time here any chance I get! :) You guys ROCK! I surprised my husband with a night away for his birthday. I called last minute and Sarah the owner was able to arrange for our last minute arrival, arranged for a 2nd massage therapist to come for a 90 minute massage for myself & my husband to start our evening. We ordered Sushi to go and chilled champagne were amazing from the living view! We enjoyed her beautiful setting, lovely hot tub just steps from the river! I would recommend this vacation suite to anyone! I can't wait to share with all my friends & family and we can't wait to go back! Thank you Sarah for making our nite extra delightful! When we booked the rental the plan was to have a nice relaxing and ROMANTIC get away.... The day we arrived we both came down with a bad cold and ended up staying in the majority of our stay. But the beautiful views, comfy bed, and the kindness of Sara (she gave some vitamin C) made being sick fun. Even our dogs loved it! The listing was dead on and very accurate! Just 15 mins to the infamous food carts and shopping. Not only would we recomend this place to a friend but I would book it for another go around of a romantic get-away!

This spa retreat lives up to it's promise. Sara was a gracious host and had no problem with a late night arrival. The listing description is accurate and it was remarkable how very close you are to downtown Portland (15 minutes by car). It is unbelievable that you are still that close and yet have an amazing view of the Willamette River right out the HUGE windows of the studio. The inside of the suite has a comfy queen sized bed, wood burning fireplace (prepped with newspaper, kindling, and a log), Bose i-pod speakers, wifi access, television, small dining area and sitting area. There is a small but very functional kitchen with TONS of amenities (loved the Keurig one-cup) including a washer and dryer. The bathroom had a full tub and shower and baseboard electric heater that worked well to regulate the temperature. We took advantage of the wood burning fireplace, cedar hot tub, and also had amazing 90-minute massages in the spa room next door. It was perfect. I can't wait to return in the summer to experience Oregon in a different season and also to see Sara's outdoor shower and spa tubs once they are in place and functioning. This was an awesome place for a couple to stay while enjoying the Portland area.

The ambience was just as advertised - a quiet spot on the broad river, with views across to an island park. The interior is decorated in nice style (a bit New Agey), and the hostess went out of our way to make sure that we were well-settled. The big window opened directly onto views of the island park in the Williamette River. The island park was reachable from a trail a few blocks away, and a bike/walking trail makes "downtown" Milwaukie an easy walk. I was skeptical about "12 minutes to downtown Portland", but it was absolutely true - a speedy few miles down 99E, across the bridge, and we were in the heart of the city, with all that Portland has to offer. The place was immaculate and the hostess even put a few snacks into the refrigerator. The rental is one big room with a separate kitchen and bathroom, so more suitable for a couple than a larger group. As a couple's getaway, we recommend it highly.
