We used this property as a filming location for a small TV shoot. The owner was very professional, kind and the experience overall was very pleasant. Neighbors were not fussy about us coming into the neighborhood. Aesthetically, the property has a very cozy cabin-like feel. Wish I could have stayed the night! Highly recommend it!

From the time we arrived at this beautiful home, we felt relaxed and welcomed. The pictures only began to tell the story of what a lovely property we had rented. Everything we could have asked for and more was included in this house from a lemon tree full of fresh fruit we were encouraged to use to the juicer that helped us make some fabulous lemonade. The house is convenient to the major attractions in L.A., but comfortable enough that there were days we just enjoyed staying home. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. Mark was such a terrific owner, responding quickly to the one small concern we had during our stay. If you want a comfortable home, with everything you need at your disposal, rent this property!

My wife and I arrived and were very pleasantly surprised at how great this home turned out to be. We picked up our two adult kids the next day all enjoyed our stay for next few days. The location is a great and safe neighbourhood. Close to shopping and major routes but quiet and comfortable. The place was outfitted very well. Everything one would need, basically a home away from home. Very clean and neat. Easy to find everything in the kitchen. We would definitely stay here again and the price is very reasonable. We loved it.

We stayed at Casa Verde for the month of January, 2013. This home is a real delight. It is very nicely decorated and maintained, inside and out. The hardwood floors, stain glass windows, paneling, and art work are beautifully done. It has everything you could need – appliances, utensils, roomy closets, great beds and linens. We particularly enjoyed the patio, cooking on the gas grill and drinking fresh lemonade with lemons picked from the tree along the driveway. In addition to the normal appliances you would expect, they even have a juicer, coffee grinder, and espresso machine. The large-screen TV, additional TV in master bedroom, computer with high speed internet, and foosball table were nice bonuses. The neighborhood is quiet, upscale and safe, with very little traffic. There were several restaurants within a block or two – we tried Mambos (Cuban) and Chinda (Thai) and would recommend both. Being close to the Equestrian Center, there are horses stabled down the block and we frequently saw them walking in the roadways. We particularly liked being so close to the LA Zoo and Griffith Park - so much to do there. The house is also close to the I-5 and the 134, so it’s easy to get anywhere in the LA area. We hope to come back next year and would definitely recommend this house to others.

We stayed in this nice home over the 2013 New Years in anticipation of the Rose Bowl. It was a great place to bring kids. We could walk to the Pickwick Gardens bowling lanes and ice arena. There were horse walking around the streets because the Equestrian Center is just two blocks away. Very convenient for stores too and very close freeway access. I would definitely go again.

My family and I spent Thanksgiving week at Casa Verde this year. Best vacation decision we've ever made. Having the entire house instead of a small hotel room was so incredibly helpful. The kids (2, 4, and 6 year-old boys) had room to play and move around. We had room to work, play, and relax. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner, since everything we needed to prepare just about any meal was there for us to use. The house has so many very helpful and thoughtful details -- lemon and grapefruit trees, stocked kitchen (utensils, pots and pans, dishes, etc.), nice furniture, WiFi, TV, the list goes on and on. Everything made this trip so much more relaxing than any hotel stay we've ever had. Oh, and the house was INCREDIBLY clean! So easy to be comfortable in a place that has been so well cared for. Very close to everything in Burbank, Glendale, North Hollywood, etc. Plenty of places to eat within 10 minutes. If you can, definitely fly into Burbank, it's a hike from the valley to LAX. We have family in the Burbank area, and will definitely come back to Casa Verde.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Greenhouse ! Well equipped , quiet and peaceful surrounding, friendly neighbourhood ! Short driving distance to all the attractions like Universal Studios ,Hollywood ,Observatory, etc . Bus Station just a 5 min. walk away.( really cheap ! $ 1,50 to Downtown LA ! ). Only the folding bed was a bit uncomortable ( Mark, the owner told us that it will be replaced soon ).And no chance to darken the nice extra room . Definitely would come back next time !

Very pleasant and spacious house with a garden with grapefruit tree. The neighbourhood is quiet and serene. You wake up to the sound of the horse neighing. And at night you can sit in the garden to watch the stars. You can also cook yourself a big meal in the kitchen with plenty of pots, pans and utensils and cutlery. Very peaceful. Just what I needed. Also, you can see the mountains from the house which I really loved. I would recommend to anybody who needs some quiet in the city.

When we arrived at the property we found that the power was off. We called the maintenance man Juan and he informed us that they'd been having electrical problems. He reset the main switch and left. All was fine the rest of the day. We house was in a good location and clean. We were happy with our choice. The next morning we awoke to find the power off again. We called Juan again, but this time he was NOT able to flip the switch again. Now we were stuck in a house without any power, 2 kids, no where to go and $100 with of food melting in the frig/frezer. Luckly we were able to stay at my husbands sisters house for a night. We were NOT able to find another house/apt rental and had to stay in a hotel room for the next 5 days with a 2 yr old and 5 yr old. They did refund our $$ and were sorry for the inconvenience. We don't blame anyone, but it was VERY inconvenient for us to move. The house was nice and if we come back we would probably stay there if we could, but only if the electrical was fixed.

Owner response: We don't expect ever to repeat the unprecedented (and unacceptable) situation of sending a guest away again. In addition to copper plumbing, new HVAC and waste systems, following this electrical failure, the wiring and breakers have been replaced after they began to fail on the day of Chris & Celeste's arrival, as the house was being prepared. I just regret that even with weekend emergency calls to an electrician, there was no quick fix for Chris and Celeste.

If you are looking for a place in the most delightful neighborhood with friendly neighbors, beautiful flowers, lemon and lime trees, a horse and rider passing down the street in the mornings, a corner convenience store, hair salon, and nail salon within a two-minute walk, a Starbuck’s and major supermarket within a one mile drive, then look no further. With the LA Equestrian Center nearby, it is like living in the country in the middle of a grand city. A stop at the local Mexican restaurant will find horses in the parking lot instead of automobiles. The birds were singing every morning and the squirrels were the best show in town as they ran across the roof tops and played. There is little to no traffic in the immediate area but easy accessibility to the freeways to start the frenetic pace of southern California sightseeing. This is the perfect place to stay to enjoy the best of both worlds.

This is an absolutely gorgeous little property. The wood-paneled interior just about took my breath away when I walked inside. All the redecoration was obviously done by skilled craftspeople who didn't cut corners. Things I loved: in addition to the appearance, the place is clean, has a well-supplied kitchen, nice appliances, comfortable beds, blazing fast internet connection, lemon tree for fresh lemonade, fun DVD collection (we caught up on our Hitchcock), friendly owner, nice proximity to Burbank and Glendale malls and Griffith Park, easy freeway access, and is located just between the San Gabriel and San Fernando valleys, which always seems to get a little extra cool breeze most of the time. Things some people might miss: The TV isn't as big as some might be used to. The next time we vacation in L.A., I sure hope this place is available, because I'm totally spoiled and don't even want to think about staying elsewhere.

You have everything there...great space, light, big kitchen, TV, computer, quiet neighborhood, great outdoor...really close shopping malls and supermarkets!!! When you enter to the house, you have almost everything to start your stay...coffe, teas, cleaning stuff, paper towels, oil, some stuff in the fridge!! The owner is amazing...anything you need, he is there to help you!!! Just GREAT! I highly recommended for your next vacation! And of course I hope to come back someday Thanks a lot!!!!

This house more than lived up to my expectations. It's in a lovely, quiet location; it's spacious, well-appointed, and comfortable; and the owner is incredibly helpful. The second bedroom worked perfectly for me as an office during my working vacation. It was delightful place to stay, and I was very sorry to have to leave!
