Great Cabin!

I was pleasantly suprised by how nice this cabin was. It is tastefully decorated in cabin decor but is fresh and clean. Not at all like many of the "dated" cabins that I came across for rent. The location is close to everything. I would highly recommend and will definitely come back again the next time we visit Big Bear.

Fun family weekend

Our family stayed at the cabin Feb 14-17th. We'd booked until the 18th but left the previous night, hoping the kids would sleep in the car the whole way home. The cabin is beautiful and the amenities are great. Everything was clean and perfect upon our arrival! The kitchen was stocked well with everything you'd need to prepare easy meals (pots, pans, dishes, silverware, cooking utensils). There's even some cabinet space for things we brought up there (bottles, kid dishes, sippy cups), which was great so that it didn't have to sit out. The size of the place is great. My husband and I went up there with our two kids, a 2 year old who slept on the bottom bunk of the bunk bed and our 8 month old baby, whose Pack & Play fit in the second bedroom fairly easily. We also brought our Boston Terrier, who enjoyed snuggling with us by the fire. We really enjoyed the location. One morning, we walked over to the lake/water. The drive to the village was really short and there's an awesome little market just a few blocks away. We also enjoyed some local restaurants, like Log Cabin (for breakfast - very generous servings!) and Azteca (not bad Mexican food, my husband who is picky liked the carne asada tacos a lot but I wasn't impressed with the chicken tacos and am easy to please). The owners were wonderful in responding to email and depositing our refund very quickly. We'd definitely recommend this property to friends and family! In fact, we'll likely book this cabin if we come up in the future (for either summer or winter). The location was perfect. There was plenty of yard space for us to play in the snow and build snowmen. The size was great for our family and we loved being able to bring our dog!

I am in complete agreement with all the previous reviews. We had a friend from Australia, daughters from Hawaii and Santa Barbara, and son from Alabama spend four days with us in this cabin. We were all very happy with everything and I honestly cannot see why anybody would not have a great time in this cabin. The only advice I can add to what has already been reported is we had a great meal at the Hacienda Mexican Grill. My wife fancies herself a bit of a chile relleno expert. She has actually eaten hundreds in various restaurants through out the world and rated theirs as the second best she has ever had.

Perfect cabin in the ideal location.

My family had an excellent MLK weekend in this great cabin. It's really the perfect cabin in the ideal location for a visit to Big Bear for all the many reasons. Coming to ski and enjoy the snow was our focus. The cabin is only minutes to Snow Summit and Bear Mountain. I'd advise renting any skis and snow boards at one of the rental locations outside the resort to avoid delays at the ski resort. If you pre-rent, you get better equipment, and when you get to the resort all you must do is buy your pass and get on the lift. There's plenty of places to eat and stock up on food and drinks for your visit. We went to Vons just down a mile or so past the entrance to Snow Summit and got everything we needed. We got lucky with great weather, plenty of snow packed on the ski slopes, and enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend the rental for anyone wishing to visit Big Bear.

Great Experience

We checked in on Sunday, January 6th and were suppose to check on on Wednesday January 9th, but had to expend our stay another night because we were not ready to leave. Darin was great from the first email to the time he immediately refunded the security deposit (and there were several calls and emails in between). The cabin is great, open, clean, bright and fully stocked. This cabin is in a great location and easy to get in and out of. We are hoping to get back in the spring and definitely next winter. Thank you Darin and family for offering an alternative to the dark and drab cabin experience.

Excellent Rental Experience

Stayed the first part of January 2013. Owner was very helpful and the cabin was all and more than the pictures showed it to be. The property was new, in an excellent location close to the Village, Snow Summit and Alpine Slide. There was a small market and the Big Bear Brewery within walking distance. The home itself was very nice, the furnishings were like new, it was equipped with everything one needs. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for somewhere to stay. My family and I will definitely be back!

A few friends and I rented out this cabin for a little snowy getaway and had a great time. The cabin was beautiful, fully stocked with all you need in a kitchen, and was very spacious for just hanging out. This place also isn't far at all from the slopes, about 3 miles, which was very convenient. The owner was very nice and was more than happy to help us with any questions we had. They had a great tv, excellent wifi, comfy couch, washer and dryer, and the heater actually worked exceptionally well, all for an affordable price. I had a great time in this cabin and would definitely recommend to others. Hopefully we'll be back next year!

Fabulous Weekend

We hadn't been to Big Bear in years, and only to camp when we had. This cabin/home is beautiful, clean, roomy, and comfy. I can't say enough good things about it. We had 6 adults with us and a toddler. There was plenty of room and we all slept comfortably. It was close to everything, yet we didn't feel like we were in the middle of town. We will definitely be back!

FIVE STAR RENTAL HOME - VERY COZY, UPDATED, CLEAN - WILL RENT NEXT TIME IN BIG BEAR!

I rented this home for 4 days/3 nights while in Big Bear visiting my family in November 2012. My dad and two little sisters live in Big Bear (12 yrs old & 14 yrs old). The 4 of us stayed inthe home. I have very high standards and this home 'exceeded' my expectations! It is not too small and not too big. Perfect for just a couple or a family/group of 6. The home would not feel too big for just a couple to be staying there. The home feels homey & inviting as soon as you walk in the front door! It is easy to access, feels safe, very comfortable and cozy with a great open floor plan! The driveway is flat so easy to park in the snow/ice. It is beautifully & tastefully decorated, with plenty of seating room in the dinning room & living room for 6+ people. The description & photos posted by the owner are very accurate. The home was well maintained & felt almost new. The kitchen is spacious, updated, and fully stocked with everything we needed. There is even a crock pot and I made a roast in it one night. Perfect cozy meal and easy to do while we were out playing in the snow all day. The kitchen was clean and roomy enough for 4 of us to be in it cooking & preparing food at the same time. The big wood burning fireplace in the middle fo the living room was nice...added to the coziness! You will need to purchase wood...it's for sale at the stores and gas stations. The flat screen tv's with cable were nice in the master bedroom and living room. The master bath has a separate large soaking tub that was very nice. I liked that they provided a cd/dvd player with both tv's & they had ipod/iphone docks. We had music on much of the weekend. The laundry room/mud room would be handy for coming in if really wet. I did use the washer/dryer and they were clean/almost new. The master bed was comfortable and even the pillows were good! They provided many extra blankets and comforters in the closet, which we used, and they were clean and good quality. The owner Darin responded quickly to my inquiries, answered all of my questions, was pleasant to communicate with, gave me all of the rental information I needed to find & enter the house on time as promised, and he refunded my security deposit quickly. The rental process was easy. I have already recommended this home to my family & friends & I hope it's available for me to rent again my next trip to Big Bear!

Fall Family Trip with the Grandparents

Our recent visit to big Bear was to escape the heat and start enjoying the fall season. The weather was cool and the leaves were colorful. We stayed with our 2 young children, my parents and their dog and the house was perfect and so clean! We felt right at home. The neighborhood is quiet and in a great location for bike rides or strolls to the lake. We will definitely stay again!

My family and I decided to take a last minute trip to Big Bear. I found this cabin online and fell in love with the pictures. The owner was so very nice when I booked the weekend in October. When we got to the cabin, I could not believe how much more beautiful it looked in person. It felt like home. It was so nice. My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The linens smelled fresh and the cabin was amazing. We definately would like to come back to Big Bear and stay in this cabin when there is snow outside. Highly recommended for a nice get away weekend!

The cabin is in a great location, the owner was very accommodating. It looks even nicer in person than in the pictures. We were also glad to be staying somewhere with laundry machines as our 4 year old got carsick on the way up the hill! Very relaxing, we will be returning.

WOW is all that I can say

The description of the place was exactly as described. Photos were not as nice as the place itself. The place was awesome! We were 3 couples and we were amazed at how nice the bathrooms and kitchen were. This place was immaculate and clean. The kitchen is very well equipped and modern. My girlfriend LOVED the sunken bathtub in the Master bedroom. Both bathrooms are very clean and well done. I initially chose this location because I was dog sitting for a friend this past weekend and they are pet friendly. I emailed the owner the week before we arrived with additional questions and was shocked by his response. Instead of answering brief yes /no answers, I got an amazingly descriptive and though out response to all of my questions. I would recommend a trip to the Village which is only 10 minutes away to shop and check out local restaurants. Some neighbors walking their dog over the weekend told me that they live in LA also and bought a place up there for the peace and tranquility. They recommended B's Backyard Barbeque for their food and doggie beach. The food was good there and our dog could sit on the patio with us. They also recommended the Himalayan Restaurant. Food from Nepal and India in Big Bear? Wild. I really recommend Teddy Bear Restaurant. My friend was craving friend chicken. The service was lacking but I think it was due to their huge crowd that day. Once the food came, we forgot about any unhappiness. It was that good. I can walk to Holloway's Marina and the lake in less than 10 minutes on a slow relaxed pace. I highly recommend going there and asking for a young lady named Sarah. She was really sweet. We rented a pontoon boat for 4 hours and cruised around the lake while fishing. It was 4 of us and the dog. We could have easily fit 4 more people there with our ice chest, very relaxing and scenic. I REALLY hate to leave such a nice review for fear that I will never be able to rent this place again due to crowding but the owner Darin deserves it. Thanks again!! We will be back

We were looking for a decently priced, well kept cabin for our family to stay in while in Big Bear. This cabin fulfilled all of those needs. It was neat, well-maintained and contained almost every amenity we needed, especially in the kitchen. The owner was quick to respond to our requests and was right on top of providing us with information about how to get into the cabin and refunded our deposit in a timely manner. It was a hassle-free experience much to our delight.

Great value for a classy cabin

This cabin is amazing! All the amenities of home but in the peaceful environs of Big Bear. Convenient location in a nice neighborhood and close to all, on the southwest side of town/lake. Even better than the photos depicted. Very clean and classy. Big bear feel without roughing it! Nice to find a pet friendly rental that has modern amenities and is meticulously clean and nicely furnished. Owner Darin is flexible, easy to communicate and work with; no hassle. Would recommend taking a fan in summer as AC didn't work. Our boat and SUV fit in driveway but was a tight fit, so ask for details. A nice walk to two good nearby restaurants-Log cabin and Millcreek Manor Teahouse and many other restaurants and shops just a short drive away. Single story with just a few front steps might work for seniors, hard to find in Big Bear. We will be back and have no reservations wholeheartedly recommending it to others.

Last Minute Booking

Owner was incredible helping me with a last minute booking for same day arrival. Cabin\House is like new with appliances nicer than my home (and I have a pretty nice home) + full size washer dryer. Kitchen was FULLY stocked with matching items (cookery, cutlery, glasses, mugs) and beyond needed utensils. Flat screen tvs and dvd players in living room and master. Appears the cabin was decorated by a real decorator (or owners have great taste). Walking distance to marina and great general area (although a few of the cabins immediately surrounding are a bit sketchy. For the price, location and 4 star rental - you cannot go wrong. My only CON - all the good reviews and price make it difficult to rent for more than a week, due to so many short or weekend rentals. LOVE it so much, I went back a week later (since I could not extend) and stayed another 6 nights. Pet Friendly. My dog loved it.

Charming/Comfortable Cabin Home

My husband and I rented the cabin for a few days and took our daughter and two young grandchildren with us. The cabin is close to everything (especially the water park and The Village). The cabin was very clean with a nice kitchen, 3 bedrooms (kids loved the bunkbeds & large bathtub) and modern bathrooms. It was also wonderful to have a nice washer/dryer and Direct TV. Thank you for sharing your wonderful cabin.

This cabin is great. It is very clean and comfortable. The kitchen and the bathroom are beautiful. The cabin is located in a perfect spot. We had a great time at this location. The house was very cozy, there was plenty of room, very clean and modern it was like we were in the comfort of our own home. Also it was very conveniently located to everything so it was a short drive to anything you wanted to go do. We really enjoyed this place it was a wonderful experience for a first time VRBO renter and we will be back.

No Need to Look Further

Our stay here was like our home away from home. We had a great time, very very clean, kitchen was amazing it had everything you could think of and needed. The pictures on the website appear the same in person "A+" cabin. We used the washer and dryer a lot, the heater worked great, our children didn't want to leave. The Village and Snow Summit were not far away but a few minutes. I would highly recommend this cabin. We are planning to return in the summer and plan to keep the information on this property for the future. The owners returned our e-mails quickly and answered all our questions. If you are wondering should I rent this cabin the answer should be easy after reading all the reviews, take a chance you won't regret it!

Our family cabin vacation rental was wonderful. The cabin shows even better in person. It was like being in the comfort of your own home, with all amenities that have been thoroughly thought out! The kitchen was great to cook in. I made many meals and they were easy to make due to the fully appointed kitchen! The cabin was clean and tidy, warm and cozy and decorated with love. I would not change a thing! Great place to stay, the owners take pride in their cabin and it shows. This is what makes this cabin a great choice to stay while in big bear. Great 3 bedroom house in a nice quiet setting close to Big Bear marina

The house seemed to be a lot newer than anything we have found in Big Bear. It was very nice and clean with a big master and bathroom which included a big tub. We have 3 kids but we could have brought another family since the 3 bedrooms gave us plenty of space. Large driveway could hold up to 5 cars. We walked to the marina in 5 minutes since it was just down the street. Plus the ski resorts were only 8-10 minutes away. We had a great time and would recommend the property to anyone that needs larger accomodations. I did notice it was nicely insulated and detached so we were not woken up by any noises from neighbors or traffic since it is located on a quiet street. The owner was very responsive on our questions and quick to return our deposit.

Great Family Fellowship!

Our family (5) vacationed with another family (4) from our home fellowship. Let me begin by saying wow; it was a great experience! The cabin was just as advertised, close to big bear village, less than 5 minutes from Alpine slide and tubing. We enjoyed the large kitchen which helped us save on breakfast , lunch and dinner. The flat screen was perfect for the Super bowl and late night movies. Between the 2 family we had 5 little ones under the age of 6. The tv in the master bedroom was awesome for their movie times and our 1 year old loved running around the open floor plan. It was great having towels and linens provided and the washer and dryer was a plus after the snow play. We BBQ 'd in the snow and ventured to big bear zoo and even made our way to lake arrowhead. Overall it was a great time of fellowship and fun. We are definitely coming back this summer.

This cabin is nice and modern. It has a nice open floor plan so everyone can hang out together and have plenty of space. The master suite is very nice and quite large. There are plenty of dishes but be sure to bring food staples (such as salt and pepper, sugar, oil, etc). It's a nice location and not far from the village. Big bonus is they let us bring our dog! We would definitely stay here again.

This cabin is the perfect choice for your stay at Big Bear. Well furnished with a great kitchen to prepare meals for your hungry vacationers after a day of skiing or hiking. All the comforts of home yet set amongst the pine trees in the mountain. I highly recommend this one to anyone looking for a nice stay in Big Bear.

The cabin was larger than the pictures online depict. I was very pleased with the amenities and modern appliances. There was enough room for our party to really enjoy our weekend. It was clean and well taken care of and the owners are very easy going and trust worthy. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking to stay in an above average place. The only thing missing was room service!!

We stayed for 3 nights on MLK weekend. Very cozy and comfortable cabin. Perfect for the family or a small group. Kitchen was modern and had all the utensils. Beds were very comfortable. The owners were efficient, professional and courteous. Will definately rent this cabin again when we come to Big Bear.

We had a great time in the Bankhead'sl home...Their home is beautiful and very well kept...Close to everything!!! Darin, the owner communicates well and was great with all of my questions...Thank you for a great time and wonderful experience...Also there is a great park (free) minutes away that our kids went sledding...Recommend The Bakery too...(yummy treats for all)...

We were lucky enough to come across this slice of Heaven in Big Bear. My Family & I stayed at this cabin for 3 days during the Holidays & it just wasn't enough. We have stayed at at least a dozen cabins over the years & by far this is the best. The cleanliness of the cabin is fantastic & the amenities are everything you need & more. My family consists of 3 boys from teenager to a 7 year old & we were all extremely happy with our stay. The Cabin is right in the heart of Big Bear & we were near sledding,slopes, the village, & everything you could possibly need during your stay. Thanks Again for sharing your Cabin with us. We can NOT wait to return! Happy Holidays!

You will love staying here! My family and I had a wonderful time...The cabin is lovely, updated, cozy and clean. The owner,Darin, was so helpful and accommodating, made us feel welcome and was ready to help in every way.We will be going back to this cozy cabin again and again...We loved being so close to the village where we enjoyed shopping, and good eating places. We have been going to Big Bear for many years, and stayed in many cabins, this was by far the best cabin we have ever stayed in!

Perfect Big Bear Getaway

We stayed here a couple weeks back and boy did we have a great time. The cabin is very clean, well-decorated and in a great location. The owners are great people, flexible and very easy to work with. Best of all is that they were very responsive. The driveway is nice and long so we could fit all of our cars. We all brought things up to the cabin thinking we wouldn't have what we needed but, we never even used our own stuff. Lots of pots and pans, plates, cups, utensils. Great appliances. I could go on and on. The place just felt like home! I have already recommended the owners to friends and family, and will contact them first when planning our next trip to Big Bear.

The photos don't do the place justice. Everything is brand new and the decor is so homey and festive. All the amenities and luxuries of home made this cabin the perfect spot to celebrate Thanksgiving away from home. We had 8 adults and 4 kids and had no problem with space. We cannot wait to rent this cabin for our next Big Bear trip and would definitely recommend the cabin to friends or family.

This past weekend my family and i stayed in this residence and we loved it. We are huge clean freaks and not ONCE did i find a space in the cabin that was dirty. It is close to the village aswell as the lake, and the neighboors were really nice. It was great, we got some snow so the dryer in the cabin came handy after coming from playing out :) and loved that we were able to bring our pug pup with us. I`ve been to many cabins in the past, and this one by far was the neatest, and you can tell by the decor that it isnt owned by a grandpa, lol. I def plan to come back later in the winter.

Our family of 6 stayed in the cabin a total of four days this summer (2011). Very relaxing and off of a quite street. The lake was a nice little walk away and you can take several different routes. My favorite thing was just sitting on the deck in the early morning, with a cup of coffee and spending some quite time with God. Very well maintained and everything worked just fine. Would definetly go back. Haven't been in the winter yet....... Thank you

Our family has stayed at this cabin several times over the past few years in both summer and winter. Either time of year is absolutely fantastic. Cozy, warm, inviting, and very comfortable home with every amenity you'll need . It's like home away from home! It's just outside of all of the hub bub but no so far that if you crave it you can reach it quickly. It's close to the lake, great walks during both seasons. There's also a park and mountainside on Mill Creek Road very close and is great in the winter for free sledding! It's not crowded at all - just don't forget to buy an adventure pass or you will get a parking ticket :) Also very close to the Alpine Slide which has tubing in winter and the Alpine Slide and go karts in the summer. We are going back this February for our annual ski, sled, snowboard week and can't wait! We highly recommend this property to anyone from a couple looking for a romantic getaway or a few families looking for some fun year round playtime. A big thumbs up! You'll get hooked!
