Enjoy our private bed room (queen size)and bath(with tub) which is a separate part of our single family restored 1830 Greek Revival home in downtown New London on legendary Starr Street. As a recent European guest said: ' what a nice room and fantastic hosts! We stayed at Frank's beautiful house for two nights and our bed was so comfortable I (ashamedly) overslept on the two mornings. The house is located on a postcard-perfect street, with a parking spot for guests in the driveway. You'll find a private access to your room and bathroom, which are both exquisitely furnished and immaculate. This room had many little touches that make the difference between a hotel and a home, a feeling stengthened by the discrete and welcoming presence of the hosts. I could not think of anything missing, except perhaps more time to stay in New London and enjoy Ocean Beach, the nicest swimming location of our entire trip to new England! Oh, I already miss its white sand and cristal-clear water...' We are a short walk from the Thames River waterfront, restaurants, ferries and trains. The room is air conditioned for summer and has a fireplace for winter plus cable (TiVo) and free WiFi. The accommodation is on the second floor. You're invited to enjoy our private brick patio garden.
Convenient to downtown: 18 Starr Street is minutes from all downtown venues. New London is a transportation hub with Amtrak Service to Boston or New York and Washington DC. Shore Line East connects with Metro-North in New Haven for very affordable commuter service to New Haven and NYC. Cross Sound Ferry has car and passenger service to Long Island (Orient Point). The Fishers Island Ferry connects to Fishers Island and the Block Island High Speed Ferry travels there.
Restaurants: Name it we've got it. Pizza, Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Northern Indian, White table cloth, Fish, Wings, Mexican. We dare you to eat your way through New London! All are a five minute walk from 18 Starr.

Perfect place, wonderful old home on a historic street in New London. Our son is in Sub School at Groton, the room was not far away, a quick drive and different stay then being in a hotel. Clean, host was very informative and close to train, ferries, and resturants.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: Thanks...we look forwartd to your return, perhaps when your son graduates from Sub school.

Great location and nice hosts! Stayed here with my boyfriend for 3 nights. On a Historical Street, the town is full of history. Room was clean and nice, accessible through side entrance, but not separate from the rest of the house. Yet this did not bother us in the least! Close to Mystic where we attended a family reunion.Owner response: Great guests,we never saw them- must have been a great reunion!

We had such a wonderful stay. The location was perfect to enjoy all the local festivities. Frank and Lynda were very accomodating and welcomed us into their home. The room was very nicely decorated and felt like home. The back yard felt like an oasis from the world. We will definately be looking to return again, hopefully the same time next year. Thank you again Frank and Lynda.Owner response: It was great to have such enthusiastic guests in New London. We look forward to their return.
