This spacious, elegant apartment set on two floors, with its own Belle Époque staircase, is situated in Montmartre, just a few minutes’ walk from the cobbled streets of Abbesses (the area featured in ‘Amelie’) and is an ideal rental for a family. Typically Parisian with its high ceilings, marble fireplaces, large mirrors, and oak parquet floors, it is tastefully furnished with English antiques. Having an open outlook means that the apartment is always bright.
Built for his family at the turn of the century by a wealthy industrialist, this approximately 1700 square foot (160 m2) apartment has its own rather grand entrance hall and staircase. There are two living rooms, each with an open fireplace and three large bedrooms, one of which also boasts an open fireplace. It sleeps between five and eight people. Downstairs is a large living room comprising an open kitchen and dining area with a big oak table that seats ten comfortably.
Upstairs is a landing, serving a light, very spacious bathroom with a good, modern shower and bath, a washroom, three double bedrooms, a nursery with cot (off master bedroom) and a library/living room with a fireplace. There is also a new, double sofabed in the library and a single divan bed in one of the three bedrooms.
The apartment is situated in a safe and pleasant neighborhood just next to the lively area of Abbesses, with its food market, cafes, restaurants and boutiques. Up the hill is Montmartre and the Sacre Coeur Basilica and down the hill is Pigalle, Moulin Rouge and other famous Parisian night spots. The apartment is close walking distance to bus routes and three metro lines. The famous flea market (Puces) of Clignancourt is two stops away on the metro. Saint Germain des Pres is a twenty minute metro ride and the Louvre a fifteen minute bus ride. Being in the North of Paris it is very handy for access to Charles de Gaulle International Airport.
