“The most exceptional property in the area”. The cabin is built on large stone boulders overhanging the Rocky Broad River. Climb the cascading waterfall on the property. Fish from one of the large boulders, just steps from your door. Swim in the waterhole. Tube down the falls. Hop the stones. Or quietly watch for wildlife. You can do all of this while chatting with those relaxing on one of the 2 large decks, one of the stone patios, or one of the large rocks. It’s an experience you’ll never forget!

Take a short stroll to downtown Chimney Rock with its unique shops and restaurants. Walk to the entrance of Chimney Rock State Park. Or spend the day on Lake Lure with its many water activities.

When entering the main home, you will be stepping back to the ambience of a 1930’s mountain cabin with original wood floors, ceilings and walls. The living room and dining room have been opened to view the outside scenery. The furniture is custom-made mountain laurel. All the bathrooms have been updated and enlarged. The large fully equiped modern kitchen will be a gathering place with its elevated table. It’ll be easy to prepare for a crowd with the 5-burner gas stove and double oven. Or if you prefer, cook on the grill outside the back door.

You’ll never lack for activities for the family. There’s a firepit at water’s edge for visiting and roasting marshmellows, a large yard for yard games, stone benches for watching the sun set, patios for viewing your own private cascading waterfall, the 360 degree mountain views, or Chimney Rock and Hickory Nut Falls in Chimney Rock State Park. Or walk along the landscaped stone paths to take in the beauty of the site and the exotic trees and plants.

A one room stone cottage sits next to the main house. It sits high on a large boulder and is built of native stone 16 inches thick. It features a full bath and an efficiency kitchen. All of the above amenities of the site are available for your enjoyment. This cottage can be rented as a package with the cabin or seperately. Please call for details and rate information.

We had the best time at this amazing house. The setting on the river is absolutely STUNNING. We would sit out on the decks constantly just to watch and listen to the river cascades. The cabins location is so close to everything so for families like ours, with lots of people of differing interests. It was very easy to accomidate everybody. Some family went shopping, others hiked Chimney Rock, others staying home, relaxed and sat out on the decks. We have some runners in the family who would get up in the morning and run from the cabin through the park and beach at Lake Lure, what a picturesque run over the boardwalk. The pictures on-line do not do justice to this cabin, outside of the views, it has an gorgeous modern kitchen but with all rustic furniture in the house to make you slow down and relax. Nothing like waking up in the morning in a huge log bed to set the mood for the day. We would highly recommend this cabin and plan to come back as much as we can to the area.

This place is awesome! We looked all over to find a mountain retreat for our family to visit once a year, and we think we found it here. It feels very remote yet it it's right in town and provides easy access to shops, restaurants, a grocery store, Asheville, and other neighboring towns. Beautiful Chimney Rock State Park with all it offers is literally right down the street. The home is plenty spacious, with 5 bedrooms, and the lot is absolutely gorgeous. The riverside fire pit is awesome! It really does have the best views of Hickory Nut Falls, the Broad River, and Chimney Rock. Our two small children had a blast with us and their grandparents, and we hope to return!

This is a beautiful place to stay and the owners are so nice, helpful and easy to work with. The views in person are even much greater than the pictures on the website. The house has lots of character and was very clean. Hope to stay here again in a future visit to North Carolina.

Our extended family of 8 adults and 3 children thoroughly enjoyed this cabin. There is something for everyone...places to spend time together, space to enjoy the majesty of mountains and river, the antics of wildlife. activity, rest, renewal. We rented a pontoon on Lake Lure, went horsebackriding, hiked on Chimney Rock, swam at Lake Lure Beach, visited Carl Sandburg home in Flat Rock, visited Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway and even built a fire in the fire pit, (a little warm for July). Cooked alot of meals in the spacious well-equipped kitchen. La Strada and Larkin's excellent choices for dinner and a couple lunches. The owners couldn't have been easier and more responsive to work with. We've taken our family on trips all over the US and this place ranks in the top 3. We highly recommend this vacation home to anyone who enjoys a natural setting, an older home with character and modern convenience, and proximity to attractions and restaurants.

We loved our say at this Chimney Rock property on the Broad RIver. The pictures let me know it was an amazing place and it was even more spectular! The house and property is very relaxing and beatiful and full of suprises! We enjoyed the home as much as sightseeing. It is is walking distance to many shopping places and centrally located in reference to Asheville, Black Mountain, or Hendersonville. We enjoyed the gourmet kitchen and cooked breakfast each morning and enjoyed breakfast on the porch listening to the crash of the river beside us. The kitchen is loaded with any applicance you would need. My family jumped in and helped with every meal and cleanup since the kitchen was such a pretty room with a great view of the beautifully landscaped grounds. The plants, Japaneses maples, cedars, rocks, walkways, and many steps and animals provided a relaxing place. My sons watched deer feed across the street. We enjoyed grilling out at night and my sons and girlfriend enjoyed walking the rocks in the river. The architecture of the house is very enchanting but has been updated for convenience but it has not taken away from the character of the home. We loved everything and will definitely be back!

There were 10 of us that stayed at this house and it was an amazing weekend! The house has been recently remodeled and has a great cabin feel with modern amenities. We had a fire going inside most of the weekend and did several fires in the fire pit by the river. The waterfalls were gorgeous and made for a great backdrop. The little town of Chimney Rock is a 2 minute walk, but yet the house felt very secluded and private. It is a great house set on an amazing lot overlooking the waterfall and river. I highly recommend!

We recently rented this beautiful home and it was the best of all worlds! We were within walking distance of the shops in Chimney Rock yet the property feels so private and the view is stunning! The beds were very comfortable, the cabin was immaculate, and the kitchen was a joy to cook in! We had fires in the firepit right next to the river and cooked wood-fired chicken over the little stone grill between the stone cottage and the big cottage. The Japanese maples on the property were exquisite and the yard was spacious. We take several trips a year to the Lake Lure area and this is by far my favorite rental! Having 11 family members with us, ranging in age from 5 to 77 this spot allows everyone the freedom to do what they want without ever having to get back in the car. It doesn't feel like you're so close to town because the property in the back is secluded. We had so much fun watching the river otters play and they put on a show for us each day. I will say that the pictures on this site do NOT do this home justice (no offense to the photographer ) because it was much larger and much more beautiful than we imagined. The kitchen was our favorite room in the house. What a cozy spot to gather and prepare meals! The bedrooms were roomy and comfortable. If you'd like to rent a spot that feels like your own little inn and you enjoy falling asleep to the sound of waterfalls then this is the place for you! The view is magnificent, it's close to town, and yet very private. This was one of the best vacations in the mountains we've ever had and we have the owners of this lovely home to thank for that!

Thanks Bernadette and Catherine, we had an awesome time!! We have been excited to tell anyone who will listen how beautiful the weather, scenery, and cabin were. We loved the cabin, which was extremely clean and comfortable, and how even the small details seemed to be thoughtfully planned out and blended with the natural environement and the original style of the home. My son had the best time climbing on all the big rocks by the river, exploring the "dirt pile" and rocks in the basement, and roasting marshmallows in the firepit. It was great to be able to walk into town to explore, shop, and eat. It's was nice to be close to everything but yet feel completely secluded when relaxing on the deck or in the yard. You have a treasure and we appreciate you giving us the chance to enjoy it. My Mom has already mentioned planning a trip with us back to the cabin. Thanks again, it was a pleasure doing business with you and we hope we will be back again before too long...for a week next time!

Our family of 12 met at this wonderful cabin for a great fall weekend. The grandchildren played on the rocks, we had a great time making smores at the riverside fire pit, and the views and sounds of the waterfalls were magical. Swimming in the river would be great when the weather is warmer. Although close to the road, the views and space out back made up for it. It was an easy walk to town. The owners were very helpful in answering questions about rooms, etc. The room with twin beds had room for two air mattresses on the floor so 4 of the granddaughters could sleep together. They wanted to be with their cousins. Other bed rooms were large enough for air mattresses also. Living room was not very large but we didn't need to watch tv. There was too much else to enjoy. We loved the big dining table which held all of us. It had a great kitchen. We've notified the owners of a few things we would have liked to have in there. I think we were the first renters to stay there. I would highly recommend this property to anyone.

About the owner: This mountain home was bought by a mother and her adult professional children. This is our dream second home and have enjoyed numerous family get togethers and quality time together since the cabins purchase.

Why the Owner Chose Chimney Rock:
The property is a very short stroll to downtown Chimney Rock. Restaurants and shopping is truely a 2 minute walk away as well as the entrance to Chimney Rock State Park. Although it is right in town the property itself is extremely private with the most breathtaking views of the Rocky Broad River, the mountains, a cascading waterfall outside your back door, and private paths. The property is unlike anything we have ever dreamed of as it has everything we could have possible wanted or needed as far as location and views

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
You can't help but relax and enjoy the nature and mountain air. We watch the river otter sunning himself on the large rock next to our swimming hole, while getting the fishing pole ready for a day of trout fishing outside our back door. We relax by the fire pit, while counting the fireflys illuminating the night sky. We get up to enjoy the sunrise while sitting on our private stone bench and eat our picnic lunch on a rock in the middle of the cascading fall in our back yard.
