My wife and I recently stayed at the Garage-Mahal for two weeks over our honeymoon. The place was exactly as advertised and Burlington is a great town with lots to do in it. Definitely recommended for younger couple like us, great location about 2 miles from downtown, and plenty close to lots of other Burlington sights, like magic hat brewery, or ECHO lake aquarium.

                    Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway.

Owner response: Burlington has a lot of things to do and great restaurants to try. A new cafe operated by Lake Champlain Chocolates has just opened just 2 blocks away on Pine St. 2 more breweries and a cider maker are also in the works for the South End of Pine st. Looking forward to some taste testing.

We enjoyed our stay at the Garagemehal. There were no surprises for us. The pictures accurately show the space and furnishings. It was within walking distance of our daughter's home and had everything we needed. We enjoyed coffee and having access to the news each morning. The owner was friendly and gracious. We would stay here again.

My wife and I stayed here for 7 nights and we were so happy with our choice. We had all the amenities of home, we were extremely comfortable, and most importantly, we felt very safe. We had no issues with parking on the street and the neighbors were very friendly to us. We brought our mountain bikes and were able to lock them up in a secure and dry location that was out of sight from others. The apartment has many lighting options and lots of closet space. For those so inclined to stay in and cook, which we did on a few of the nights, Price Chopper and Shaws are a half mile away, which made it convenient to stock the fridge. The lake and park are a 10 minute walk, downtown Burlington is about a 20 minute walk, and there are many shops and eateries located on Pine Street that are within walking distance as well. The owners Donald and Nancy were so friendly. They put together a great local guide of their favorite places, which we took advantage of. My wife and I travel to Burlington about three times a year. Staying at hotels in the center of town gets old and expensive. You have to beg the hotel desk for free parking passes and you have to pay to have a fridge put in the room. On this trip, we didn't have to deal with any of that. We are grateful there's a Garage Mahal that allowed us to experience life in Burlington's Southend. It's a quiet residential neighborhood, which was exactly what we were looking for. We will most definitely stay here again.

The Garage Mahal is a clean comfortable studio that is great for a couple. Its in a quiet neighborhood and a super quick drive to a great beach. Plenty of street parking. Its a nice 1.5 mile walk to Burlington or a quick drive. Its close to route 7 and 89 so it convenient if you plan to get to points east/south (Stowe, Waterbury, Camel Hump).

The only reason we did not give this rental 5 stars is because of the noise level. The apartment is clean, well appointed and comfortable. But, being so close to the main house the noise from house repairs in the AM and loud talking at night when folks arrived home was a drag when trying to sleep in a bit on vacation. Both of these things are easily fixed by the owners.

                    Recommended for: Sightseeing.

Owner response: Thanks for the feedback. We are addressing the noise issues. The house repairs will be complete within a few weeks. In the future we'll communicate better with guests regarding work going on at the house.

My husband and I absolutely loved this beautiful studio. It was spacious, extremely clean with beautiful decor. Donal and his wife were delightful. We would have loved to stayed longer. It's located in a quaint neighborhood which was fun to explore. Centrally located to just about anywhere you may need to be in Burlington!

My wife and I were in Burlington to visit our son and his fiance'. This place was all it said it was. Easy walk to downtown on well marked bike path and Church St. We were given our privacy and the owners were available if needed. We will use this location again on our next visit if it is open. The pictures on the website do not do this place justice. It truly is the "garage mahal". We loved it

Great fully furnished studio apt beautifully decorated in a terrific, quiet neighborhood. Plenty of privacy. A 4 minute direct drive to downtown Burlington (or easy walk or bikeride). Lots to do, handy to plenty of shopping, so many great restaurants and 3 minutes off the highway. Burlington, VT is a great place. If you haven't been you should add it to the list of places you should visit! Would love to stay there again sometime.

Loved the space! It was clean with plenty of windows to let the breeze in. We appreciated the privacy and easy in/out. We enjoyed looking out over a nice neighborhood; taking in small gardens and watching the birds. Next time we are in Burlington, we would be excited to stay in the garage-mahal again.
