Convenient to Anchorage, hiking, exploring, glaciers, with a spectacular view that greets you in the morning!!! Very clean, complete, accommodation for two people or a small family (with a second bedroom), and laundry facilities. Extras thrown in made meals even easier to prepare. Abundant brochures to check out your preferences. Geri and Kevin were like meeting old friends from high school, although we had never met them before. They were very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about what to do in the area without intruding or hovering. We cannot imagine how our experience in the area could have been improved!!!!!! Geri and Kevin provided a canoe, kayak, life vests, poles for glacier climbing, and reached out every way possible to make our stay complete. They are people we would very much like to keep in contact with!!!

Owner response: Thank you for the compliments! You were such a delight to have and yes we felt like we became friends. We had such a wonderful time on the hike, and getting to know you. It always is so rewarding to have people enjoy their stay and the Alaskan adventures available right in our area!! You guys were so much fun & you did everything you could during your stay!! Even landing on the glacier in deep snow!! We look forward to meeting up with you again! Thank you for choosing us, and enjoying what we offer. We do try to spoil our guests and make them feel like friends/family. You were easy to spoil!! Blessings, Kevin & Geri

This was the best vacation ever. The chalet was awesome as was the lake and everything for 200 miles in all directions. Geri and Kevin were the best hosts ever. It is so nice to be so close to so much to do and see. I was able to fish early in the morning in the lake out the back door while Liz and Betty slept. I caught and released rainbow trout every morning, and got as many as I wanted to keep. It was the best trout fishing action I ever had. I even caught an arctic grayling. There are lots and lakes and streams around that I explored. The chalet is in a great location with such quick and easy access to so much stuff. Everything was better than we could hope for. The beds were perfect and the layout and facilities were great. We are recommending it to everyone we know.

Owner response: Steve and Liz, You guys really were a blessing to us!! It was so fun to watch Steve out on the dock fishing every morning! You're quite the fisherman Steve! We are so glad the chalet was comfortable and provided activities for everyone to enjoy. You stepped up to the challange to get out of your comfort zone and explore the wilds of Alaska! It was like watching kids on a new play ground! We hope you come back again soon! Blessings, Kevin & Geri

We just returned from a lovely stay with family visiting my parents for our father's 90th birthday. The place is very well located near shopping so we were able to take full advantage of the very well stocked kitchen and barbecue. The views of the lake are lovely and several in our party took advantage of the canoe and kayak to row about the lake. Our hosts were very generous with their time and helpfulness. There is a beautiful yard that fronts the lake accessible to more athletic family as it's a fairly steep hike down from the main house but the setting for the house affords it beautiful views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. We took full advantage of the fire pit in the cool evenings and had several family barbecues. Would highly recommend and hope to return with family next year!

My family and I have just returned from staying at this wonderful location. We live on the kenai peninsula and were looking for a comfortable place to stay in the Palmer/wasilla area while attending a family wedding. This place had everything you could wish for, a beautiful view, very comfortable living space, and it was stocked with anything you might need during your stay! It felt like home immediately and when it was time to go my teenage daughter begged to stay longer. The owners were great, thanks Geri and Kevin! Oh and thanks for providing the bug zapper, it kept my son entertained for hours :)

Canoe Lake Chalet was a great place to stay for our Alaskan vacation. There were 7 of us and we had plenty of room. Everything was clean and well taken care of. Geri went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We used this as our homebase while we explored Alaska. Geri gave us great advice on must see locations. We definitely enjoyed roasting marshmallows and sitting around your fire pit! If we ever do get to go back to Alaska, I'd definitely stay here again. Thanks Geri and Kevin, we had a great time!

All 7 of you were amazing! Grand parents, parents, uncle, and two teen agers -all enjoying each other and Alaska together! Camp fires, hiking on glaciers, whale watching, Denali Park, sight seeing - you name it you did it!! Have you put in your camp fire pit yet?? Let us know when you come back, we would love to have you come stay again!!

WOW! this place was incredible. We were very skeptical booking off the vrbo website and not knowing anything about the place other than what was printed. We can tell from the week we spent there that it is well maintained, cleaned and has everything you could possible amagine. We found it to be very comfortable and close to town for groceries and anything else you might need. The owner Geri was pleasant, accomadating and there if you needed anything yet give you your privacy. We would defiantly suggest this location for your next Alaska adventure. Geri thank you for making our trip specail. You need to make sure to eat at The White Spot in downtown Anchorage off 4th street for the best Halibut burgers. If you drive north to Mt. McKinley make sure to stop in Talketna, the Denali Brew House has the best ever Seafood Chowder and the home brew isn't bad either.

We arrived with our 4 kids to a little slice of home wrapped in woods and front row view of canoe lake. Geri the owner went over and beyond in hospitality with us and was always there if we needed anything, but gave us our privace to enjoy our stay. The description and pictures doesn't do the place justice, its gorgeous, clean and very well maintained. The best part of our stay at Canoe Lake Chalet is that it was VERY kid friendly, from sledding to ice fishing, we will definitely make it a MUST to visit in the summer. I would recommend this place to family and friends, Geri will always stick out in our mind as a true, giving Alaskan woman! t

We are new in Alaska and the owner provided us with an awesome hospitality. The place has a warm touch of home ambiance. It is clean and cozy. The living room is facing the Canoe Lake and mountains . The spectacular view gives you a relaxing feeling especially after a long day of work. And the best thing of all is the caring and hospitable owner who is always there for whatever you need. Our one month stay was great and we became friends with the owner. I highly recommend this property to anybody!!!!

Our troop (Pirates for Hire) has the privilege of staying here during our recent stint at the Alaska State Fair (fairgrounds just minutes away) and we loved the place! The accommodations where clean and comfortable, the kitchen complete with all the necessary amenities, EVEN a toaster, coffee-maker and blender! Looking out the living room sliding-glass door we had a beautiful view of the lake and mountains behind. While staying here we enjoyed cozy fires by the lake (in prepared fire-pit), canoeing around the lake and EVEN SAW THE NORTHERN LIGHTS! And our host were VERY kind, accommodating and respectful of our space/privacy. A+ experience, without a doubt! Next time we're up that way I can only hope we'll have the pleasure of staying here again!

Owner response: We enjoyed all 8 of you Pirates from Hollywood!! Quite entertaining and full of surprizes!! Not your average pirates! Clean, respectful with the biggest hearts around! Now we call you friends and look forward to next year - hopefully the Alaska State Fair will bring you back!! ARRGG!!
