This peninsula retreat offers you everything you could ask for on the lake and minutes from everything else you could want on your up north vacation. This five bedroom, three bath lake home is nestled at the center of majestic Norway Point. Offering stunning sunrises from the spacious back deck and magnificent sunsets from both front decks, Norway point is the premier property on Nelson Lake. Norway point has everything from woods to beach and plenty of both, while offering you complete relaxation as you’ll have the entire peninsula all to yourself. Hiking, biking, walking, and running trails begin where the driveway ends. When you need to get away, you’re ten minutes from downtown Hayward for all of your shopping, restaurants, entertainment and golf. That’s if you choose to leave the lake.
This lake home is perfect for hosting large families or groups. The main level features 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining table that seats 12, and a great room with vaulted ceilings and Direct TV. WiFi is available for your convenience. The focal point of the main level is the gorgeous western view of the lake from the huge peak windows. The 3 bedrooms consist of the master bedroom with full master bath, king size bed, and its own TV (Direct TV), a bedroom with one queen size bed and one with two twin beds. Rustic rough-cut hardwood floors are throughout the kitchen, dining room and great room. The lower level offers two more bedrooms (one with queen size bed and one with two twins), a full bathroom, laundry room with washer and dryer, and a family/ game room with TV (Direct TV).
Norway Point is just under 2 acres of peninsula with 2400+’ of shore line. A private drive will bring you to the home where a large stamped concrete fire pit with plenty of seating for all and a grand Norway Pine are the center piece of the front yard. Down from the lake home is the most inviting beach Nelson Lake has to offer. The nearly 100’ of sand and a steady elevation to the water make for a great launch point for canoes, kayaks and floaters, building sandcastles, or just splashing around. A large grass area accompanies the sandy beach, great for picnics, tents or just laying out. Wildlife will come to you on Norway Point. Deer follow a deer path daily right through the front yard on their way to the beach for a drink. If you’re peaceful, they will pass within 30’ of you. It is also not uncommon to see eagles enjoying an early breakfast on the beach. Loons, osprey, ducks, frogs, turtles, and the occasional otters and beavers will make appearances as well.
With over 2500 acres of water, Nelson Lake entertains every kind of boating. For recreational boating, you’ll always find calm water either to the east or to the west of Norway Point. Pontoon cruises are a very popular activity as the mostly underdeveloped shoreline and many wilderness islands offer scenic cruises in any direction. For the fisherman, Nelson offers a little of everything and many of some. Nelson Lake is known for its plentiful pan fish and as a Championship Bass fishing lake. Boat rentals are available on the lake from numerous resorts. The lake also is home to many restaurants & bars, boat up or a short drive by car.
Just ten minutes from downtown Hayward, you have all the shopping options you’ll need, everything from groceries to rentals to fun boutique shopping on Main Street. Restaurants are plentiful as you can choose from a number of Supper Clubs to Brew Pubs to some the most delicious Pizza Parlors around. For the golfer, you’ll have everything from Championship golf at Big Fish to Putt-Putt golf at Towering Pines.

Wendy ~ the location of your rental home is amazing. Although our weather did not cooperate with us, we had a fabulous time. My kids (both 17) and I had a blast playing ping pong and your dining table was perfect for all of us to play games at. Being able to watch the football games was a plus as well. Thank you!Recommended for: Girls getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Wendy, My brothers, sisters and spouses had a grand time at your cabin. I would say it may be the best cabin we have rented in the 18 years we have been vacationing together. We had a great week! The weather was great and the fishing perfect. I think they caught a fish everytime they put a line in the water. Grandpa actually got tired to cleaning fish. Life was good. Our vacation went way too fast!! What a great time was had by all! Our family enjoyed every minute from daybreak to dusk. Pontooning, tubing, canoeing, fishing, gathering around the firepit at night were some of our activities. We enjoyed a day in Hayward, fish museum, wilderness walk and, of course, the ice cream shop. No matter what window you look out, you see water! The beautiful sunsets, the homey cabin, the beach, the lake, the landscaping are great. Thank you so much for letting us enjoy your beautiful home.
