We love the Smokies, but not all of the commercialized accessories that are Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. When we go to the area we are looking for a cabin that is clean, quiet, private, and relaxing. With that in mind, this cabin is almost perfect. We have stayed in the Wears Valley / Walden Creek area numerous times and this is one of the nicest cabins we've used. The only thing that was distracting was, as mentioned in a previous review, the carpet upstairs is in need of attention. We loved that it was pet friendly, so that we could bring our entire family, and knew that this was a possibility with this type of property. That aside, the cabin is tastefully decorated, extremely private and well laid out for our needs. Loved the wood-burning fireplace much more than the typical gas that is found in most cabins. We would not hesitate for a second recommending this cabin to others, and would definitely consider staying here in the future. Thanks for making it available for the rest of us to enjoy!Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you for your wonderful review. I have just returned from spending a week at the cabin this morning and had the upstairs carpet professionally cleaned. Everything is up to standard once again. Thanks for taking advantage of our cabin and we hope to have return to Bear Paw Trail #15 again ! Please refer our place to your friends!

This property is probably one of the best in brothers cove it has so much to offer! The grounds are beautiful, a mountain stream runs right past the cabin, you can listen to it bubble while having an evening campfire in the fire pit. The many small trails and bridges throughout the property were awesome too. The house doesnt have a "view" but you won't really care. I'd rather have more space to be outside than a view. If you need to experience the "view" it's just a short drive up the mountain. This property would be ideal for winter since there are no steep grades to get to this cabin. The porch was amazing with huge rockers, a tv, grill and hot tub. You really don't need to go inside!! The interior was nicely decorated (fall and Halloween theme for us) a huge flat screen in the living room and newer furniture. The wifi in the cabin saved us since there is little to no cell service in the area! The kitchen is newer with all the pots and pans we needed to make all of our meals. The bedrooms were a little on the small side with a huge soaking tub in both, but we really only used the bedrooms for sleeping so the size really didn't matter. The bathrooms were also on the small side, it was kind of difficult for 4 people to try and share those small spaces trying to get ready in the mornings. My only complaint about the whole place is that it could use a really good cleaning there were many stains on the upstairs carpet, it was quite dusty in places, and the bathrooms smelled like old urine. I am very picky when it come to things being clean and those few things wouldn't stop me from staying there again or encouraging someone else to enjoy this cabin!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.
Owner response: Jayne, Thanks for the review of your experience of staying at Bear Paw Trail. We are glad you enjoyed many of the wonderful features of this smoky mountain cabin. We have ordered a steam cleaning of the carpets and a deep cleaning as a result of your review today. We were there in August and those issues were not present, however we pride ourselves in making sure everything is perfect with this cabin. We plan to return in October for another visit to ensure everything you mentioned is up to Standard.

I already miss this cabin, and I have only been home for a couple of days. This cabin is in such a quiet setting. It is perfect for a weekend getaway just to destress and relax. I am thrilled with the Internet access in this cabin. I have stayed here several times in the past, and this was the only thing that was missing. The renovations to the kitchen were also very nice! Thanks for a great stay. We are planning to stay in this cabin when we go for our main vacation next year.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

This cabin was more then expected once arriving. The Decor, cabin, streams and the care takers were above anything we had experienced on other gatlinburg trips. This is a special place and we will come back and rent here again. Too many extras to list....Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.
Owner response: Tom, We are so Gald you enjoyed our Special Cabin. We have put so much work ito the property since we acquired it. Total rennovation since April 2011. We also cleared out the Forest of the overgrowth so you can now enjoy the streams and the grounds around the cabin. We can't wait to be able to rent it ourselves very soon and continue the improvements where we can. Hope you will come back and stay with us again. Sincerely, Skip Lilly, Owner Bear Paw Trail.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2011
About the owner: Skip and Christel Lilly are NC Natives but reside in Daytona Beach FL. Skip works for the HR Outsourcing firm Vision HR and plays live music. Christel is in Talent Acquisition for Siemens Energy in Orlando. We have a 3 yr old Daughter and a Baby Boy to be Born in February 2012. 1 Dog, Cocker Spaniel, Named Shiloh. We love the Mountains and after renting Cabin, after Cabin, for years, in 2011 we purchased Bear Paw Trail.
Why the Owner Chose Sevierville:
We chose Sevieville and Brothers Cove because of it's unique secluded National Park Like Setting.
Who wants to rent a cabin in the Smokies looking at your neighbor and watching traffic go by?
The streams on the property and cabin itself along with the way the builder left privacy between the cabins caught our eye. We really think we got the best piece of land in the gated community. This builder also has unique way with wood and our staircase is a feature of the this cabin that will not disappoint. The fact that we are so close to all the action of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, but yet still outside of town (10 minutes) we can have the best of both worlds. Not to mention The Riding Stables just 1 mile from the cabin and the Ski Resort just a short distance sealed the deal on why we chose here. Not to mention the hundreds of shops, restaurants and activites within 20 minutes of everything.
Also the Knoxville Airport provides a short commute. We can leave FL and be in Knoxville in 1 hour 10 minutes. Take the back roads for 22 miles and be at the gate at Brothers Cove !
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The Staircase, Seclusion, Wall of Glass for a great view of Nauture, spectacular Fireplace in the Den, Jacuzzi tubs in each Bedroom, etched Bear Scene overlooking the 2nd floor, Watch TV from the outdoor Hot Tub, The woods is lighted at night for Awesome views of the woods( watching the snow fall at night under the lights, Unbelievable!!!!), The sound of Rain on the Tin Roof, the sound of running water when the Stream is high after long periods of rain, swiming in the Brothers Cove Mountain Pool with fantastic views that were featured in Southern Living Magazine.
We like to get up in the morning and see what's outside. Wild turkeys, Ginny, Racoons, Deer and yes, Bear. I call him 'Honey' Resident Black Bear currently gracing the neighborhood with his presence. All is Safe at Bear Paw Trail.
