The "Burngalow" is nestled on a private, wooded lot near the center of Sherwood Forest, an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. Relax and just watch and enjoy the natural surroundings (and look for the white squirrels the area is known for) or play golf on the 18-hole, par three course with pro shop (open year round), swim in the heated junior Olympic-size pool, play tennis, hike on any of the 21 miles of well-marked hiking trails located within Sherwood Forest, enjoy the five lakes for fishing or canoeing (canoe, paddles, and life vests are available for use). Lakes are stocked with bass and bluegill - no license required.
The cozy "Burngalow" sits amid beautiful rhododendrons and ferns. It has a great room with a two-story cathedral ceiling, the great room has a roomy sofa and recliner, 36-inchTV with DVD and VCR, adjoining dining area seats six. Galley kitchen with full amenities. Heated and air conditioned, ceiling fans in both bedrooms, large ceiling fan in great room cools both great room and loft area.
Loft area has sitting area for watching TV/VCR (sofa and two chairs), a double-size bed and single bed - great for the kids. Large master bedroom has a king-size bed and private bath. Large, screened porch adjoins master bedroom and great room. Second bedroom has a queen-size bed. Second bathroom nearby. Covered porch on rear of house with gas grill.
Shop for antiques in nearby Brevard. Pisgah National Forest and Blue Ridge Parkway less than 30-minute drive; Asheville and Biltmore Estate less than one-hour drive. Dupont State Forest and Caesar's Head State Park less than 25-minute drive.
