My daughter and I had a wonderful get-away at this property. We felt welcomed and taken care of. Everything was perfect, down to the lovely neighbour to show us in, the treats awaiting on the dining table, and the stylish home, so close to the pools and club house. It is like a very private resort. Looking forward to coming back. Thank you!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

What a wonderful month at a beautiful property in La Quinta. The home is lovely and so tasteful. It was a comfortable home that we were able to entertain in, and make ours for the month. All aspects of the home were as described or better. We enjoyed the pool, fitness center, and peacefulness of the property location. Weather in February was perfect for our hiking activities. Also took in the street fairs and polo matches (thanks for the use of lawn chairs for Polo). We will be back!!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

I found my weekend stay at this location to be fabulous! I enjoyed the house immensely. It had all the amenities necessary to make the trip very homey! It was clean, nicely decorated and very accommodating! I enjoyed the large lap pool which was a short walk from the house! The weather was beautiful and lots of shopping, dining, and golfing nearby! When I return to the desert, I will certainly come back to this home!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

FEELS LIKE STAYING AT A RESORT! I recently stayed at this lovely home during a Girls’ Getaway, and it was fantastic. The house is elegantly furnished – looks like a Pottery Barn catalogue – with no “Grandma” trappings like homemade quilts and bric brac. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the essential tools needed to prepare a gourmet meal (including wine opener and cocktail shaker!), and there is also a gas barbecue on the patio. We didn’t need to bring anything other than our clothes and toiletries – everything else was taken care of including linens and pool towels. The Puerta Azul complex feels like a resort, too, with a pair of swimming pools (this house is just across the street from one pool), a clubhouse with a fitness room and billiard table, tennis courts, bocce ball and a putting green. The owners were extremely thoughtful, too, and made sure when we arrived that a bottle of wine and chocolates were waiting for us. The owner is a travel writer, so she sent us a list of local dining destinations that she and her husband enjoy. She also made recommendations of things to do while in the desert, including Villagefest in Downtown Palm Springs on Thursday nights. That proved to be a lot of fun. Hoping to book this place again next year!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We fully agree with Steve's comments about this rental. We truly enjoyed our visit to this charming home. Elizabeth has wonderful people in the community to help you with questions and anything you may need. We loved the resort feel of this area, enjoyed the pools, the people, tennis and clubhouse. A dog friendly community with a great pathway for walking. When there was an issue with the bbq they had a beautiful brand new one promptly installed, and as for the deposit--also returned promptly! Thank you both for a wonderful month in paradise!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The casita is a free-standing house in compact community in southeastern La Quinta. The tall ceilings and open style give a feeling of elegance. The two heated pools, hot tubs, tennis court, and grounds are very well maintained with beautiful flowering shrubs and tall palm trees. Everything inside the unit was exactly as portrayed on this website. When we arrived, there were one or two items that were needed, and Elizabeth ordered them on Amazon, so that they shortly appeared on our doorstep.A charming couple oversees the Puerta Azul facilities, and they were always available for questions or recommendations. On two occasions we had overnight guests, which was not a problem at all with the second bedroom. Of course the weather was fantastic, even more so than we expected, and the restaurants at the La Quinta village were a treat. Polo matches are just up the road, and there a number of desert hikes available within a short drive. Palm Springs proper is really quite a distance, and we seldom went, not feeling the need given what was available nearer to home Our month went by quickly, and we hope the opportunity to visit Coachella Valley in the winter arises again soon.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

About the owner: We're SoCal natives and parents of two school-aged children. Kurt is an college administrator, and Elizabeth is a publicist and travel writer.
Why the Owner Chose Puerta Azul:
Palm Springs is the quintessential getaway from Los Angeles, and we've been coming here since we were teens. We fell in love with Puerta Azul as soon as we saw it. We wanted a weekend retreat where we could hang out with our kids, but still feel like we were staying at a resort. Our little piece of paradise in Puerta Azul met every criteria with its resort-like amenities, quiet location, and breathtaking views.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love getting away from the hustle and bustle of LA when we can. While in La Quinta we'll stroll around Old Town La Quinta, grab a date shake at a local fruit stand, or just lounge poolside at Puerta Azul. Every moment we spend here feels like a holiday.
