We checked in on 1/10/12 and stayed for three nights. The condo is wonderful and the views are amazing. It had all the comforts of home. We really enjoyed the BBQ every day and sitting out on the lanai looking out at the ocean. Its just a few steps from the St Regis which has a killer view from the bar (you must check it out at Sunset). The condo was very clean and well maintained. John the owner was great at answering any questions we had and is more than happy to give reccomendations. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

We checked in on 01/02/12, fantastic way to start put the new year. The property is well taken care of and the condo is better than the pictures. The view from the condo is amazing! The pictures just can't capture how spectacular the scene really is. Every morning my husband walked down the little steep trail to Hideaways to surf and I'd stand on the lanai watching him taking pictures. Looking forward to going back in the summer months to snorkel there. The furnishing is exactly as described. Beautifully decorated in that chic but comfortable, Tommy Bahama island style. The bed is super comfy. Loved getting into it after active days on the beaches and hiking trails. Being right there in the north shore, all the best beaches and hiking trails are close by. The only negative I can say is that the tv in the master suite is not really worth watching. It's too small and the bed railing is too high to even see it. Didn't really bother us since we aren't much of tv watchers. Having said that, the set in the living room was great to watch the football playoffs while BBQing. We had a wonderful time, all the comforts of home with a priceless view. I loved the little details of Khiels toiletries and island soap from Island candles. Oh, btw, the condo could use some candles. They had everything we could want except candles. Next time I'll bring some. We loved the iPod dock station too. Made listening to downloaded music much more enjoyable. One last thing, thank you for providing wifi. We absolutely loved everything about our stay!

Beautiful location and Condo. We have stayed in Princeville many times but this was our favorite location. The condo was furnished beautifully. Perfect for two couples. Loved watching the surfers from the great lanai. We had no complaints. Hope we can return soon.

My husband and I just returned from a ten day trip to Kauai and staying at this Puu Poa condo was a real highlight of the trip. We have been to Kauai before many times and stayed in wonderufl places but nothing like this! It was extremely clean and very well appointed in furnishings and supplies. The extras such as boogie boards and beach chairs were wonderful. The view was matchless. We enjoyed coffee on the deck each morning, a nice walk in the neighborhood most days, and then off to a series of adventures. Coming home at night was great because we had such pleasant surroundings and great privacy. The onsite property manger was really helpful with suggestions for locals-only places to go. Overall, I give this place an "11" on a scale of 1 to 10!

We arrived to a condo in wonderful condition. John was very easy to work with from the very first contact, during the stay and afterwards. They have worked hard at doing upgrades to make the stay wonderful. I have stayed in several units at Puu Poa; this was the nicest unit of them all. Honeymoon Getaway

My fiance got married in Maui surrounded by our families and friends. After the wedding, we came to Kauai for some R&R and this condo definitely provided that. It's a beautiful and very well kept space. The neighbors are very quiet, in fact, we hardly ever saw people on the property. If you are looking for an incredibly relaxing place, this is definitely it. The tub in the Master Bath was not quite what I was expecting for a relaxing soak, but the Master shower was fantastic. I loved the fact that we could have our sliding glass doors to our bedroom and living room open throughout the night. There's nothing like falling asleep to the sound of the ocean. This property isn't within walking distance to many things other than the St. Regis. We wish we would have been closer to restaraunts and shopping. Whale watching is one of our favorite things to do in Hawaii and we could do that from the balcony of this condo, simply amazing. Overall, this is a beautiful place and I would defiintely recommend if you are looking for some rest and relaxtion!

Aloha from Maryland. We stayed a month at Puu Poa 203. First of all John is extremely easy to work with, but professional as well. All questions are answered usually within minutes. He gives you accurate good pricing right away. And the advantage to working directly with the owner are all the extras….the fully equipped closet with outdoor equipment, the fully stocked kitchen, the guidebooks and library of books, and the original artwork. Everything you see on the website is accurate…in person we found it even better and prettier. We knew we wanted the Puu Poa complex because of its location, its solid construction, and the layout of the units. We were even more impressed when we got there. From the semi-private entrance (only 2 per floor share a large entrance area) you will smell the beautiful gardens as you cross to the unit. We preferred having 2 open lanais (as contrasted with the glass covered lanais), as we wanted the light, sound and the full ocean view from both. We also preferred our second floor unit as it was only 8 steps down from the parking lot and we did not look down on anyone, just green, water, surfers and whales. As a vacation rental this was extremely clean, generous in size and fully appointed. The beds are VERY comfy and the master shower is perfect for Hawaii – open and airy. Cell phones get spotty coverage so John’s unlimited mainland calling plan worked well as did the internet. We were in the unit when the new living room furniture arrived. NICE. It’s very clear that John takes great pride in his unit and is constantly upgrading features. We would not hesitate to book with him again. Mahalo

We only stayed here 3 nights and wished it had been more. It is impeccably appointed and we could not complain about anything in the condo. Owners are excellent communicators and make a good effort to see that you enjoy your stay. It is very easy to find, easy access and definitely romantic.

Our favorite condo in Kauai. Great location - All the comforts of home - especially appreciate the quality king size bed - the most comfortable bed we have slept in on vacation. Blue sky, blue water, warm tradewinds, tropical smells - North shore Kauai is the best. We'll be back again!

Wonderful Property

If you are staying on the North side of the Island, this is the place, just up the street from the St. Regis and nestled between two world class golf courses, with a short walk down to a private beach! The unit is impeccably decorated, everything is first class, the kitchen is well equipped for cooking and there is a great Weber gas grill on the Lanai as well. Restaurants, snorkling, kayak rentals, surfing and shopping nearby. A short ride to guided Kayaking, and even the ride down to Port Allen for the Zodiac up to the Napali Coast is very doable. We had a great visit, and will be visiting Kauai again soon, staying at John's place.

This is THE place to stay on Kauai's North Shore

The location is outstanding, just before the St. Regis, on the Ocean and amid two world class golf courses. The Condo is impeccably decorated, with great accommodations. The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare gourmet meals, with a high end gas grill on the Lanai, though great restaurants are nearby for those not into cooking on vacation. Just about everything is nearby...kayaking, Surfing, snorkeling, beach, great hiking trails. Even the Zodiac trip to the Napali Coast that leaves out of Port Allen on the far side of the Island is only an hour away. This place can't be beat. We'll be back.

The location and amenities in this immaculately maintained condo were fantastic. Hideaways beach just behind the property is wonderful snorkeling, walk down to the St. Regis for a sunset cocktail, enjoy grilling fresh fish on the BBQ one night with a well equipped kitchen. Head out the door early one morning and walk about 1 1/2 miles to Queens bath and be the first to take a dip in this spectacular natural lava pool in the morning (remember to look for all the sea turtles too) Don't miss this great property in Kaui.

This was an excellent condo - very clean, well-kept with a fantastic ocean view. Stayed in May for 1 week & loved every minute. Cooked every day as condo was well equipped & very close to a couple of grocery stores. Not far from Hanalei Bay & Hideaway Bay is a steep walk away. North shore is gorgeous - postcard perfect. John, the owner, answers questions promptly. As said in the title, would definitely stay here again. I am pretty fussy & we typically stay in hotels but would come back to this condo in a heartbeat.

Upon arrival I knew this was to be a perfect vacation. Everything was as described. This was one of the cleanest condo's I have ever stayed at! The furniture was the highest quality, not like other units that are staged with packaged furnishings - Tommy Bahama, Brown Jordan, and a new Samsung washer/dryer! The bed was so comfortable, I slept better here than in my own bed. This is the best deal out there, I just hope everyone that stays here treats this home with kindness and respect. We will be back!

This is a beautiful condo and cleaner than most five star hotels. The accomodations are impeccable which included top of the line bed linens, luxurious robes, local island handmade soaps, and ultra fancy couture hair products. The bed was so comfortable that I found myself peaking under the sheets for the brand name. In addition to the beautiful furnishings, gorgeous lanai, the owners are wonderful people - friendly and very accomodating. I highly recommend this vacation rental.
