Newly rebuilt cottage across from Culver Lake beach with view of 555 acre lake. Backs Culver Lake Golf Course. Enjoy pristine waters of Culver Lakes private community. Although this cottage is accross the street from the lake front, you have a private dock with use of canoe, rowboat, paddle boat and kayak located at the Causeway. Great spot for fishing, no gear provided. New 16+ lisence required. Community sandy beach with great swimming directly accross the street. Food and game room just steps away from this great summer escape for family fun. Life guards on duty 7 days a week from mid-June to Labor Day. Close to water parks, youth theme park, ski resorts, antiquing, dining, winery. One hour from NYC. Linens and bath towels provided for a family of 6. Additional linens provided for a fee. Beach towels tenant responsibility. Great place for a relaxing, fun filled family vacation or quiet romantic getaway. Appalachian trail and Stokes State Forest nearby, excellent waterfalls, hiking, biking, walking, bird watching and fishing. See our resident bald eagles soar over our beautiful lake. No Smoking/no pets.
Cottage at the Lake: This cottage was originally built in l956 and completely rebuilt by the Cardinal Family in 2010/2011. Walk in to cathedral ceiling living room with tongue and groove pine walls and stone gas fireplace. Master bedroom suite has queen bed and private shower stall bathroom with ceramic time floor and wainscott walls. Rear bedroom has 2 twin sized beds. Main bath features ceramic tile floor, vanity storage and towel tower next to full sized tub. Stairs lead to third bedroom with queen bed and open loft with extra sleeping areas. Living room flows into kitchen and dining room area with sliding glass doors leadiing to back deck with picinic table and chimnea for evening bonfire fun. Or sit out front and enjoy the view of family fun on the beach and watch the waterskiiers passing by.
Winter fun includes sleigh riding 50' from your back door on the golf course. Try your hand at tubing or snowboarding in your own backyard as well as ski/tubing fun at Mountain Creek 40 minutes away.
Cottage at the Lake: The Culver Lake beach is directly accross the street from this perfect family location.This is a natural lake nestled in the Kittatinny mountains neighboring Stokes State Forest. We have an abuncance of wildlife to enjoy such as the great Bald Eagles nesting right here at our beautiful lake. Lifeguards on duty during beach hours. Canteen features home cooked grilled food and specialty ice creams at reasonable prices you can afford to take advantage of. Beach festivities take place and we welcome our guests to take part in them. Check the Normanoch News weekly neighborhood paper for details. NJ State Fair the first saturday in August running for 7 days is fun filled with rides, equestrian competition, baby animal exibition, farm animal displays, specialty food vendors and much, much more.
Dining/wining/activities: Several restaurants are just minutes away by car. See our list of restaurants in our activities book provided.. Winery's are within an hour's distance or visit our local winery just 20 minutes away.
Summer family water parks such as Mountain Creek Water Park just 40 minutes and Cambel Beach just 90 minutes away. Children's amusement/waterpark 40 minutes away. Space Farm Zoo and Museam 20 minutes away, hiking and biking trails are endless in adjacent Stokes State forest as well as our lake country roads.
Manhattan just one hours ride away from sites such as the Statue of Liberty or the Empire State Building.

I can't thank Barbara enough for how wonderful our stay was at their lake house. We live locally, but wanted a more central location for my bridesmaids and I to stay before our wedding. She was incredibly helpful, accommodating, and understanding throughout the chaos of the wedding weekend! The house is in a perfect location across from the lake, and everything you need for a comfortable stay is provided. My girls and I loved staying and then getting ready for the wedding day at the house! We took wonderful pictures there, and the best are in front of the beautiful fireplace. The house is a perfect cozy lake house! Thank you so very much!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

Better than we expected. The house was beautiful!!! Extremely clean, great location, I can't say enough good things about it. I would recommend it 100% for anybody. We had five children ranging in ages 5 - 11. They all loved it. The loft was perfect for there own space!. Barb, the owner was terrific to work with!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

I stayed at this wonderful new lake house with my children and grandchildren, as well as my friend and her granddaughter. There was plenty of room for us to spread out, sleep comfortably and gather round the kitchen/dining area for our meals. The kids had such a great time at the beach and enjoyed the snack bar at the Clubhouse directly across the street. They met new friends and still keep in touch with their Culver Lake friends! My friend and I enjoyed cocktails on the front porch and back deck; both have their own charm. On the front porch we were able to take in the breeze off the lake and the water view. On the back deck, we were able to view the greenery of the Culver Lake Golf Club and watch the kids play while we barbequed our dinners and prepared the fire pit for the evening bon-fires (which the whole family enjoyed...what's a vacation without making "S'Mores"?) Rich and Barb are such friendly, accomodating people who made us feel welcome and at home while at the lake- the kind of reception you might not expect in a private lake community. We were provided with so many amenities, too numerous to list here. During that week, we visited a few nearby attractions, including Sunrise Mountain, Dingman's Falls, and Space Farms Zoo. Next year we plan to visit the High Point monument and hike a bit of the Appalachian trail. The kids cannot wait to get back to the lake for their after dinner ice cream trips to Dairy Queen! We will always remember the beauty of Culver Lake, especially from the views we took in on our trips out on the canoe. the sunsets through the gap were extraordinary and fishing down at the private dock brought the kids so much excitement when they reeled in their sunnies and perch! We plan to return to this this very special lakehouse and would recommend it to anyone seeking a relaxing, fun-filled vacation. I am originally from Northern NJ and come home several times a year to visit. In the past we have stayed with my family but, after having 3 children, things got quite cramped. We were so fortunate to find Barbara and Rich's houses on HomeAway! Before I explain why we love the home so much I first have to say that Barbara and Rich have been just fantastic! We travel all over the world and have yet to find more friendly, accommodating and kind people. They have been flexible for us around our travel plans, they anticipate our needs when we are there, they can be easily reached if we need them, everything we need is ready to go and our vacation is relaxing and stress free every time...just as it should be. it's truly just perfect! Now for the home. It is brand new this past summer and much of it was built by Rich himself. There is more than enough room to fit all of our crew and I love the open floor plan that allows us to cook, entertain and not have to be separated from the living space. The kitchen is stocked with all cooking needs so you don't have to travel to eat out, unless you want to...which is a big plus for our family. Also, there is a washer/dryer which is a must have when traveling with kids! The backyard tucks in nicely next to the 9 hole golf course and we love that our kids can play safely around the yard/deck area. The living room and fireplace is just wonderful. It is the perfect place to relax and unwind after spending a day out...so cozy! We love the location of the home as well, directly across from the beach area and clubhouse. Barbara and Rich provide badges to use the beach and we often pop over there for swims several times a day. There is also use of a canoe, kayak and rowboat to enjoy the lake even more! For other people who like the outdoors as we do, the home is located right near Sunrise Mountain, the Delaware River, Stokes State Forest and many, many waterfall, scenic hiking areas. There is never a loss for outdoor adventures and it's nice to have the lake and home to come back to at the end of a fun day! I know my family and I will be returning to the lake house many, many times in the coming years and I love that it feels like arriving at a second home each time. We chose to buy this rental for its location across the street from the Beach. Our other location is nestled in the woods on the opposite side of the lake so we can now offer our guests the vacation they choose.
