We had the most wonderful vacation! What a beautiful house - and the view of the lake! Heidi is the best to work with. The home was perfect for our family of 5 - and fully equipped with everything you could need. Neighbors were friendly and welcomed us, wishing us a good vacation. If you're a football fan, a trip to the NFL Hall of Fame is only 90 minutes away - and worth the drive!

Fantastic Family Vacation Home

My family (wife, 2 year-old girl, 4 year-old girl) and I were looking for a vacation spot that felt like we were getting away, while not driving 12 hours to get to the North Carolina shore. Also, our 9 year-old Golden Retriever had some medical problems, and we wanted to take her along for her first vacation with us. This home was exactly what we were looking for. Before we even left, the owner, Heidi, made us feel very welcome in her home. She was very friendly and responsive to all of our questions. She even shared her driving directions with us to make sure we found the home okay. When we arrived at the home, my whole family was very excited with the house. My 4 year-old kept darting from room to room giggling and smiling the whole time. My wife and I are both boarderline obsessive-compulsive, and we were very impressed with how clean the house was. The cleaning service does a wonderful job. There was plenty of room for our girls and our dog to run around and play. There was even a long leash in the back yard, so we could tie up our dog without having to worry about her getting into trouble. We made use of the washer and dryer, so we didn't have to pack as much or do as much laundry when we returned. We had every intention of using the grill, but ended up eating out each night at the area restaurants. The owner has accumulated a wealth of area menus and information, and it came in handy. Downtown Huron is a quick drive away, and it is like taking a step back in time. I personally liked the town donut shop with the locals bantering back and forth and the donuts like I remember them when I was a kid. We loved the house, but we also loved all there was to do within a small driving distance. We enjoyed the African Safari (25 minutes), Cedar Point (20 min), Nickelplate Beach (5 min), and Vermilion (20 min). Vermilion is another quaint little town with a soda fountain diner. I wholeheartedly recommend this house to anyone looking for a family vacation or just a retreat. The neighbors were friendly, and we never had any problems with noise. Heidi is a pleasure to work with, and if we plan another vacation to the area, you can bet I'll check to see if this house is available.

The moment you walk thru the front door, you have a spectacular view of the lake. One of our favorite features is that regardless of the weather you can watch what is happening on the lake( inside you have a full view of the water even in stormy weather and outside there is huge deck to enjoy the beautiful sunny days and sunsets). The cottage itself is beautifully appointed and is totally updated. The property was very clean and well maintained and that is something coming from me as I am a clean freak! The owners were very friendly, helpful and ready to answer our questions aa soon as possible. Would I recommend this home to my friends and family? I already have! We can't wait to go back again! I highly recommend this property to anyone!
Owner response:Hi Barb! Oh my goodness but what a sweetheart you are! I had read your review back in the Fall and had completely forgotten to thank you for your kind and generous words! Thank you, thank you! I'm sure your review witll help us tremendously. I hope your New Year has started off well! I also sincerely hope that we can keep in touch. Thanks again for taking the time to give us a such a nice review! Heidi
