My husband and I were in Sonoma for our son's wedding. The cottage was a great place for the two of us to stay. Nice little patio just outside the dining room door. Quiet neighborhood setting. Close proximity to Sonoma Square - dining, shopping, strolling around. Our other adult son joined us at the cottage for two nights of our visit. The only downside to the interior layout is the bathroom access through the bedroom. We somehow misread the listing and thought it had 2 bedrooms - our error, not the owners. The fold-out sofa bed was OK for two nights. Would be fine for younger children, but would not recommend for adults on a longer stay. The cottage is generously stocked with snacks and beverages - this was very nice and greatly appreciated as we did not have a lot of time to spend shopping for groceries. There is a vast selection of music. Free WiFi and cable TV. Books and games and guides to local attractions. Prior to our arrival, the owner provided us with resource suggestions for everything we might require during our stay. The property is well maintained. Everything was as described. I would happily recommend to friends and family.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We are frequent users of various website to book private accommodations. We have never had such a perfect place to stay. It far exceeded our expectations. The cottage is a true oasis of serenity. The owners have thought of everything. The attention to detail is unmatched. These are people who have generously made their paradise shareable and private. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could want. We marveled at their trust and generosity. The use of the VW is above and beyond what is typical when renting a private home and was such fun! Our favorite delight may have been the very fresh eggs...what a great treat and for Easter too! The cottage is spotless, quiet, exceedingly comfortable, PERFECT! It made it hard to go out during the day because it was so lovely to spend time there and so wonderful to come back to in the evening to kick back and relax. Unfortunately it was still too cool and wet to take full advantage of the patio but such a glorious spot to enjoy a glass of wine and the outdoors in. You will not be disappointed in a stay of any length at Bennett and Sheila's cottage. It is a must-get-back- there kind of place.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Jayne & Scott, Thank you so much. We enjoyed meeting & chatting with you both and hope we see you again. It was our pleasure! Bennett & Sheila

Such a treasure of a cottage, with amazing outdoor/patio space to relax and feel tranquility and sunshine. It was super clean and very well furnished, replete with amazing amenities and kitchen/cupboard treats. It sleeps 4 comfortably, and easily a few more with extra aerobeds. It was perfect for our girls getaway/bday celebration.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Amazing cottage nestled in downtown Sonoma, presented exactly as described only better. From toiletries to plush robes, wifi to extra electronic plugs, spices to soda and wine... everything was thoughtfully provided. The outside patio area was perfect for grilling and the gardens are exquisite. The owners went above and beyond to make us comfortable and gave us plenty of tips about exploring wine country. The cottage was centrally located so we were able to easily visit nearby vineyards and check out the square in Sonoma (definitely recommend The Girl and the Fig and Sunflower Cafe restaurants). Thanks to Bennett and Sheila... the fresh eggs were great and we will be back to take advantage of the VW Bug next time!Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Stayed at Sheila and Bennett's cottage this weekend in Sonoma Valley. Can only offer the highest of recommendations. I stayed with my girlfriend for a weekend away from the city, and absolutely loved it. Sheila and Bennett were amazing hosts; they coordinated wine tastings for us throughout the Napa Valley and were incredibly hospitable throughout our stay, offering free passes to cross-fit classes and complimentary wine and food in house. The place itself was fabulous - can't really describe it any other way. The decor was beautiful, it was centrally located and easy to get to and from, and was secluded enough to be able to enjoy both the sights and intimacy that Sonoma offers. 10/10. Will definitely be back.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This place is great, we had an amazing time here. The pictures of the patio don't do it justice, it has ample seating, a fire pit, grill and a table for six to dine on. The owners are wonderful, very helpful and accommodating. Parking is easy and the location is close to town and convenient. The cottage is modern and clean, with just about anything you'd need in the kitchen and two TV's and electric 'fireplaces' that worked great. Do not hesitate to stay here!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I booked the cottage for myself and 3 girlfriends for a quiet, bachelorette party weekend. Everything exceeded our expectations-- from the cozy accommodations, to the complimentary water, soft drinks, coffee & snacks to the pristine setting. The cottage is minutes away from the main square in downtown Sonoma, giving guests easy access to shopping and dining (but also offering the tempting alternative--staying in and cooking, following a long day of wine consumption). The owners provided me with a ton of information to help plan our weekend (maps, recommendations for wineries, etc) and made us feel right at home. The outdoor patio area is beautiful and provided the perfect setting for morning conversations over coffee (or evening conversations over wine). Overall, I'd highly recommend the property and will certainly be back again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Bennett and Sheila have gone above and beyond with this place--it was super stocked, from wine and beer to electrolyte drinks to cure the hangover, they even had makings for s'mores, stacks of CDs, and cigars! Not to mention farm-fresh eggs. The house was perfect, three of us stayed the weekend and our only regret was not having more time to spend at the house. There is a fire pit in the back yard off the patio which we didn't have time to use. If the weather is nice and you're willing to stay fairly local, they even have a swanky convertible VW bug for you to use! What I liked most about this was that Bennett and Sheila are super accommodating and very laid back. I've stayed at homes where there are so many rules, your stay is ruined by nerves. With these fine folks, basically, you break it you buy it. Couldn't be easier. I really loved the home as well as Bennett and Sheila--who are from the area so they are a well of knowledge for off-the-beaten-path excursions. I will definitely return soon and hope to stay much longer.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
