Downtown Gem! No Car Needed..Completely Remodeled & Brand New!

  We stayed for 8 days and were disappointed especially after reading the wonderful reviews. My major issue was that the apartment is advertised with a washer/dryer which it does not have. If we had know this, we would not have rented since this was very important to us and we eliminated all other rentals that did not include a washer. We travelled light with just enough clothes for a couple days assuming we could do wash so it was a major inconvenience. No explanation and no apology. The only laundromat is a single washer at the ferry dock in a room behind the gas station which had somebody in it all the time. Also, because of plumbing issues in the building, you cannot flush toilet paper. The apartment is cute and new. It does have a closet as described but there was only one hanger in it so, since we didn't travel with our own hangers, it was pretty useless other than using it to hang a few things over the bar and lay our suitcases on the floor of it (there is no dresser or place to put clothes). It is convenient to walk to most things. There is a grocery store directly across the street and many places to eat very close. The ferry is a really close walk. Town is pretty quiet during the day. The snorkeling is amazing and there are plenty of great beaches. We came to escape the city and enjoy some peace. Unfortunately (by no fault of the owners), the neighbors made us eager to leave. We were told they were "musical" which translated to several nights of insanely loud, drunken parties with bongo playing (this must be the musical part), horn honking and fighting until 2:30 in the morning. Even with closing all the windows, running the air and putting the radio on, it still sounded like they were in our living room. I feel bad, because we always stay in privately owned rentals because they are more "homey" than just a hotel. I don't think I've ever left a bad review. I just felt like the plumbing issues and lack of washer , should have been disclosed before we put a deposit on it so we had the option to find another rental.

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car.

  We were so comfortable and happy with our stay, I cannot wait to come again (for longer next time). So much air and light throughout the place. Very close to everything. Bathrooms are beautiful. Transportation was easy. Tacos were amazing! Thanks for everything! See you again in the future!!

  The apartment is perfect!! This was the first trip of ours to Culebra and we didn't know what to expect. Staying downtown is ideal because stores, restaurants and bars are conveniently close ad it is not necessary to have a vehicle every day. We rented a jeep for one day and that's all we needed for a one-day exploration of the island. Taxis took us where we needed to go every other day for a very reasonable price. The apartment is fantastic!!! Clean, all new appliances and the two doors out to the terrace make the apartment feel big and open! One evening we just enjoyed sitting on the balcony and chatting and there was lots of activity in the street that made for great conversation. Every night we ate at the reaturant downstairs which is conveniently owned by the owners of the apartment, Zach and Monika. The food was delicious and very affordable! Zach and Monika were so kind! This place comes highly recommended from all who stayed in the apartment!

  What a wonderful spot to stay on Culebra! You are so close to everything you could possibly need in town. The town home is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Monika and Zach couldn't have been more accommodating. The bedrooms have lovely Caribbean breezes blowing through them, we never even used the a/c. The washer and dryer were an added bonus. The home was extremely clean. The beaches were fantastic! The water was super clear and warm. The snorkeling is some of the best we've ever experienced. Culebra is so small and charming that you can't help feeling totally relaxed. Staying in this location made everything so easy and enjoyable that you never feel like a tourist! The food downstairs at Zaco's Taco's are simply the best tacos I've ever had. I ate a pork belly taco everyday we were there! Monika's banana daiquiri is a must! There are also other choices on the island for traditional Puerto Rican food. We loved it and would live there if we could!

  Staying here was like staying with family. Monika was a super accommodating and flexible...she's great, Zach's great...the whole family is great! The apartment is brand new and super comfortable...especially liked the bathrooms. The location is right in the heart of things so you can walk to all the basic necessities....and go fishing right off the dock around the corner! I hope to come back year after year with my friends and family.

  We arrived right after Xmas and got to enjoy New Years on Culebra for the first time in this great upper apartment. With 2 adults and 7 kids we had one on the couch but had enough room here (I didn't share my bathroom tho with the kids!). The location is in town but on a dead end street so traffic is sparse. Below is a restaurant owned by the owners that serves great mexican food, however we had enough privacy and separate entrance to not even know it was there. Property was clean and tastefully decorated. We would go back........leaving kids at home next time tho!

  What a fantastic experience! Brand New and Tastefully Decorated, with ample space in bedrooms, baths, kitchen, and living room. Original artwork decorated the entire place. Tremendous deck overlooking unique street-life in Culebra! Monica is the most gracious of owners! Cannot wait to return!! You would feel utterly comfortable bringing relatives, friends, and even your boss! All will be impressed and beyond satisfied!! This living arrangement added immensely to our over-all vacation pleasures. Thank you, Monica!!! Centrally located, and yet we felt very private. In the middle of everything, and yet we could "close off the world," if we so chose. Short distance to the beautiful Flamenco Beach, and very close to any dining interest you could possibly have!! The more I write, the more I miss being there, so, until next time . . . . . . . . .
