Our sunny open home, which we call 'On a Whim' has beautiful Charleston styled furnishings including some family antique pieces plus an outdoor shower ( FABULOUS/PRIVATE) and driveway for 3 cars. max. Under the house is a picnic table and colorful rug, lines to hang wet towels and a Rubbermaid storage shed with beach equipment. Bikes and golf carts are available for rent within walking distance.Enjoy Historical Charleston, Outlet Mall, the beach and the many year round events!

Favorite activities include long days on the beach, walking to town for coffee, ice cream or meals ( favorite restaurant is Lost Dog for breakfast/lunch, music/bar/food the Washout, best happy hour is Snapper Jacks, for burgers is Irish Pub and yummy Mexican and margaritas at Taco Boy). Other favorite activities are bike riding ( rentals available nearby), walking the end of the islands to see the lighthouse or the Park and of course Charleston is full of wonderful activities and restaurants...a week will never be enough time!


Location, Location, Location!: 'On A Whim' is located on a quiet, non through beach street only 2.5 blocks to public beach access adjacent to Tides Hotel and Tides outside beach bar plus within the block to the middle of Downtown Folly with restaurants and shops. Folly Beach has numerous street festivals throughout the year which allows you to enjoy your quiet vacation home but still walk to all the festivities. Folly Beach is located only 10-12 minutes to Downtown Historic Charleston! Historic Charleston offers all kinds of historic tours; fabulous boutique, handcrafted, name brand and antique shopping; plus Charleston is a foodie destination where most of the restaurants aren't corporate, but owned by chefs with the pride of using local seasonal ingredients creating some of the best restaurants in the country! Charleston also boasts a wonderful aquarium, tours of surrounding plantations and an array of special festivals year round to include Jazz, Arts, Culinary, Fashion, Animal and more!

Immaculate,Well Appointed Home!: This home is a second family home which is only rented up to 12 weeks a year. We come about once a month and do a deep clean to keep the house pristine. The home and yard is immaculately professionally maintained. The decor is quality furniture with a casual but colorful Charleston motif with a handful of family antiques accents. The home is stilted with two gracious southern front porches with rocking chairs plus a enclosed under level with a outdoor shower( with shampoo and body wash provided) and bikes. The interior is two levels with living space on the main level featuring Brazilian hardwood floors and an open floor plan. The living room features a denim sofa with double chairs and ottomans, flat screen tv open to the well appointed kitchen. The kitchen is a cook's kitchen featuring stainless appliances, an island with seating plus pots, pans, small appliances, spices and some pantry staples. The dining room seats 6 plus has numerous stools for extra seating. The dining also has table mats, serving pieces and games in the cabinet. The laundry room has beach towels and blanket. Half bath too! We love our under the house private hot/cold outdoor shower- it is just glorious! Under the house is also a bin with beach chairs and beach toys.

Bedrooms Plus Games and Reading Material: The upper level features a master suite with luxury bath( dual sinks, separate shower and soaking tub and private toilet) plus a second bath ( new bath with walk in shower) and two additional bedrooms. The bedrooms all have top of the line Beautyrest and Serta mattresses, many with pillow tops and feature a King, Queen, and the third bedroom has bunk beds and a trundler. The walkways are Brazilian hardwood with sisal wall to wall in the bedrooms. The . Closets are plentiful! A separate hallway opens to the second level porch with rocking chairs which is incredibly private sitting high surrounded by oak branches. Games are provided in the dining room cabinet. The second bedroom has a bookcase full of books. Magazines of all types are in the magazine basket on the main level and Charleston maps, restaurants and information are located in the information rack on the wall in the living room and on the cork board in the kitchen.

For your convenience, paper towels, toilet paper, laundry and dish soap, salt and pepper plus some spices are provided. Beach towels are available, but need to be be washed and returned to the bin. Beach chairs and toys are under the house. The goal is a home away from home. Enjoy!
