Wood burning fireplace (wood stove) creates warm fires on cool nights and makes for a lovely time with friends enjoying the local wines.
The stargazing at the house is amazing.

The location was stunning, the scenery amazing. The property, as promised, was certainly modern. The property is faily isolated from Hopland (about 8+ miles of twisting roads, etc.). All of this was as exptected. Kitchen was fully equipped and furnishings comfortable. Couldn't quite get the tv to work, but really wasn't there to watch tv. Given its location on the hilltop, we happened to experience chilly weather. Certainly not the fault of the owner. Charming town of Hopland had no grocery store. But we were advised of that. Ukiah or Healdsburg best bet for food.

Beautiful place, though further from SF than I would have liked. Spacious, beautiful views. Missing some amenities - toilet paper, wastebaskets, soap dish in the shower, tissues. Away from everything, so if one wants seclusion, he has it. However, if you want to go out to dinner or drive up after dark, forget about it.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners.
Owner response: There are wastebaskets in each bedroom, each bathroom, and the kitchen. In addition there is toilet paper stocked in the walk in closet in the master bedroom in addition to that under each sink in each of the bathrooms. There is liquid body wash, but a soap dish is also present in each shower. Should anybody need anything during their stay they can contact the on site caretaker. We make the drive from San Francisco door to door in about one hour and 45 minutes or 2 hours if there is heavy traffic - it is a straight shot on the highway and 99 miles from the Golden Gate bridge without a single traffic light and only one stop sign. When we drive to St. Helena or Calistoga in Napa, it takes longer because the traffic in Napa Valley is always bad. I am glad they enjoyed their stay and we hope everybody does as well. Please contact us should you need anything during your stay and we will do our best to provide it. Also, there are a few good places to eat within 10-15 minutes away, and tons more within 30 minutes.

Secluded Mountain Escape
This is a secluded and quiet 3BR/2BA home tucked into the mountains in Hopland, CA. The decor is IKEA contemporary. Beds are low to the ground with hard mattresses. Kitchen is well stocked with dinnerware and cookware. The house was dusty and had not been cleaned in weeks (cobwebs/dead bugs/dust). This home is for the traveler looking to get away from civilization. Beautiful views of mountains & vineyards. Home is located about 40 min from Healdsburg and 1 hour from St Helena. Only restaurants are located in the nearby casino. No large grocery stores in Hopland. Small Medocino County wineries located nearby. Owner was always available by email or phone to answer questions. Excellent value/rental price for home.

Owner response: We appreciate your review and we are glad that you enjoyed your stay. My apologies for the cobwebs and dust. We have addressed the issue and hope you'll consider a visit again to this unique vacation escape. The piazza Campovida pizzeria in hopland has amazing thin crust pizza and hand crafted beer, and the new Hopland Ale House with comfort food and local beer and wine will be opening very soon!
