Great Jimmerson Lake home new to the rental market. About 2000 square feet on 1/2 acre with 3 large bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and great views of Jimmerson Lake which is part of the Lake James chain. The home was built in 2001 and has always been family owned. It’s been lovingly maintained, is super clean, and in great shape. Wonderful location for visiting Angola, Pokagon, and the Lake James chain - walking distance to the restarants and bars in downtown Lake James, but far enough that it is quiet and private. It’s a perfect getaway for couples, families, or extended families. And don't forget to bring your boat - you'll have your own dock space right in the backyard!!!
Comfortably sleeps 9 (please inquire if your party is larger). The master bedroom is on the main floor and features a brand new king bed and attached master bath with large soaker tub. There are two large bedrooms upstairs – one with a queen bed and attached bath and one with a queen bed and a twin bed. There is also a relatively private den with a queen size pullout sofa.
This is a true year-round home, not just a summer lake cottage - it has everything you'd expect in a home. Well stocked kitchen with newer appliances and all the cooking and dining utensils you'll need (settings for 12 people). We supply bed linens and bath towels. You will need to provide beach towels. There are two 32” HDTVs with DVD players – one in the family room with a view of the lake and one in the den. Washer and dryer are provided on site. There is central A/C and heat. Large driveway provides off-street parking for at least 4 vehicles and plenty of room for your boat trailer.
Speaking of boat trailer, this a perfect place for boaters! You'll have a dock space right in your backyard to accomodate pontoons up to about 25' and speed boats up to about 20' – bring your own or rent one locally. As part of the Lake James chain, you have access to over 2000 acres of water on 5 lakes: Lake James, Jimmerson Lake, Snow Lake, Big Otter Lake, and Little Otter Lake (the first three are ski lakes). The Lake James chain offers great swimming at several sandy public beaches and sand bars, tubing, skiing, and of course fishing. The house is located on a nice channel only 3 homes from the main part of Jimmerson Lake and less than a 5 minute ride to Lake James.
The large 1/2 acre lot gives you plenty of space to enjoy the outdoors with a family cookout, bonfire, or lawn games. The house has a huge deck with large table and umbrella, charcoal grill, and fire pit. And don’t forget to look for the wildlife including heron, swans, ducks, turtles, and deer.
The location is quiet but still very convenient – just a few minutes from I-69 or the Indiana toll road and walking distance to downtown Lake James with its restaurants and bars (Tom’s Donuts, Acapulco, Club Paradise). It’s also just a few miles from Indiana’s best state park – Pokagon which features beaches, hiking, and a toboggan run in the winter. Also nearby is the town of Angola with its cute downtown square, many ice cream shops, mini-golf, Trine University, Fremont outlet mall, Satek Winery, buffalo preserve, and golf courses including Glendarin Hills, Zollner, and Lake James.
This is not just a summer getaway. In the fall, you will find great fishing, fall colors, and you can still take the boat out for one last ride. When winter rolls around, it is time to open the toboggan run at Pokagon State Park. Ice skating, sledding, snowmobiling and ice fishing are also popular winter activities. Spring means it’s time to get back outdoors for that first boat run of the year, fishing, and hiking.
Popular day trips include Auburn Cord Duesenberg Auto Museum (25 minutes), Shipshewana / Middlebury Amish country (40 minutes), Fort Wayne / Fort Wayne Zoo (45 minutes), South Bend / College Football Hall of Fame (1 hour), Lake Michigan beaches at Indiana Dunes or Warren Dunes (1 hour 45 minutes), Lake Erie beaches at Maumee Bay State Park (1 hour 45 minutes), Sandusky / Cedar Point / Lake Erie Islands (2 hours), Detroit / Greenfield Village (2 hours), Indianapolis (2.5 hours), and Chicago (3 hours).
This is a family home, not a party house. If you're looking for a place to party at the lake for a week, please look elsewhere. If you're looking for a nice home that has been shown a lot of love and attention, this is the place for you!
Our goal is to do everything we can to ensure you have a great vacation. We provide a folder with our recommendations for local activities and dining to get you started and we're happy to answer any further questions. Just call or email. Thanks for looking!

Why the Owner Chose Angola:
We live in Holland, Michigan now, but grew up in Chicago (Erik) and Northwest Ohio (Tina) and still have family in those areas. So when we were looking for a location for a second home, Angola was the perfect spot - 2 hours from Holland, 3 hours from Chicago, and right next to Northwest Ohio. Oh, and there just so happens to be a great lake right in the backyard!!!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
When we're at the home, a typical day goes like this:
Get up and take a short walk to Tom's Donuts for some of the best donuts you'll ever taste.
Take the boat out for a quick spin - maybe tube a little.
Back home for lunch and to pack up for an afternoon on the lake.
Head to a sand bar on Lake James or Jimmerson Lake where we let our 5 year old daughter splash around while we hang out with friends.
Back home to clean up and then off to dinner at a local restaurant or perhaps just stay home and grill something on the charcoal grill.
Finish the day with a bonfire or movie.
