We had a Great long weekend on my birthday. The cabin and Frank more than met our expectations. We arrived late and Frank went above and beyond to mett us when we arrived and gave us a tour and explained how to operate everything. Definittly would stay he in the future and have told our friends about it as well.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

What a nice getaway for my husband and I. The Huntley is truly a wonderful place to stay. Frank has thought of everything to make you feel as comfortable as possible. The bread and eggs were perfect for breakfast every morning. The kitchen is well equipped, had enough firewood to keep a fire going the whole time we were at the house, the amish place around the corner has the best sandwiches for lunch. The only complaint is it would have been perfect if the bed downstairs was bigger than a full but we made due...just would have been nice to fall asleep with a fire in the fireplace. Overall a great place to stay and will probably check out another one of Franks places for our next visit to the Asheville area. Thanks for a great getaway!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

The experience was fantastic; we had a group of 9 come stay in mid-March. Everything is as advertised; the beds (the hanging ones are quite nice in good weather), the 3D TV, the outdoor waterfall, even the (delicious) bread prepped for us on our arrival. The property manager was very excited, enthusiastic and easy to work with, and was responsive when we needed to contact him. The kitchen was loaded with all basic appliances. Literally the ONLY issue was an underpowered microwave. The place is beautiful, the pool table and hot tub are in great condition, and both the gas and charcoal grills were ready to go. The three fireplaces were particularly nice to have in mid March. Two of our group had the onsite massages by the massage therapist and were very pleased. Taxis were recommended by the property manager on our request; one recommended was $10 per person for groups up to 9 one-way into downtown. Driving was no issue, though it is up a steep incline so I'm glad it was March and not January in my front-wheel drive car. Thank you for a great experience!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We have a very enjoyable stay at the Huntley. The owner was extremely welcoming and helpful. Our children loved visiting the chickens and collecting eggs from the barn on our stay. The house is well appointed and extremely comfortable to stay in. It is an easy drive into Asheville. I'll definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

It's wonderful when a rental unit is even better than you expected from the photos (which look great). And that was certainly our experience with The Huntley. We highly recommend any of The Cove at Fair View rentals. The whole property is lovely and The Huntley is just one of your lodging options. Location is convenient to anything you'd like to do in the area (and there is MUCH to see and do in this area). Saying Owners are attentive to details is an understatement. Concierge service from Frank, fresh eggs from his hens and fresh bread from his daughter! The Huntley offers you privacy without isolation. It's perfect for romantic getaway for 2 or a group retreat or a family get together. The layout offers you lots of options for public and private space. Everything is very tastefully appointed and well maintained. It feels cozy but not at all cramped -- even with 8 or 9 people staying there and sharing meals together. Only caution I'd mention is for handicapped / elderly accessibility (and winter weather accessibility) because of steep grades to the driveway, long gravel driveway against a drop off with somewhat "blind" access from the road and steps that could prove precarious for people for whom mobility is an issue. I mean, you're in the mountains, so this is to be expected, but some homes in the area prove more accessible than others and this one could be challenging for elderly or for people with very young children or other mobility issues or for those without front wheel drive or 4-wheel drive in slick weather conditions. You're not going to just pull into and out of the driveway like you probably do at home. The house is perched on the side of the mountain -- which is lovely!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful time at the Huntley celebrating a 'milestone' birthday. It's such a beautiful place. We enjoyed everything about it, the outdoor fireplace, waterfall, river rock showers and all the little extras. Even though it was a little chilly, a couple of folks in our group slept overnight on the screened-in porch in the swinging beds. They said it was like camping without the hassle. My daughter and I enjoyed relaxing massages by the outdoor fireplace. Looking forward to a return visit next year. Thanks Frank!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home! We were able to relax and enjoy the beautiful views inside & out. It is without questions that you tool every measure to make sure your guests have every necessity at their fingertips. We would love to visit again in Summer 2012 for a longer family vacation. Please tell your daughter the bread was a wonderful appetizer for our meal on Friday.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful cabin and waterfall! It was the perfect place to stay while enjoying Asheville. Frank’s tips for planning our week were very helpful, and the chickens contributed to our breakfast with the most delicious eggs we’ve ever had.Did you find this review helpful?
