  My family loved this oceanfront property! It is very beautiful and well furnished. We made our reservations with Lindsay, and she was very nice. She met us at the unit the first day to make sure eveything was ok. PROS: They give you enough supplies like towels, toilet paper, bounty, aluminum foil etc so that you don't have to get them. Kitchen was well stocked. The location was also great, but I don't think you should be thinking you will walk to downtown Lahaina... ESP if it is getting close to dark. The streets aren't well lit and there doesn't appear to be a sidewalk since we almost took out sporadic groups of pedestrians driving there. View is beautiful! Saw whales daily! Enough space for our family of four, and was nice to have two dryers. CONS: there isn't air conditioning on the first floor. It wasn't very hot since you can open the screen doors wide... but the problem we had was that there were a lot of smokers! So, with the doors open you definitely get the smell of cigarettes in the house. Maybe it depends on who is renting the units next to you and hope they're not chain smokers. The hammock out front belongs to the neighbors. We did ask them to remove it since we paid for an ocean view and not a view of random people swinging in the hammock (they even started pulling over lawn chairs too!). They were very nice about it and promptly removed it and their chair(s). There are bugs! The upstairs bath had ants everyday which I just washed down the drain. Not a prob. What I didn't expect were the huge roaches! Ugh, I was so grossed out by them. I killed five of them.... all were in the kitchen and only saw them late at night. I'm sure if I had called Lindsay, she would have taken care of the problem but I just didn't want an exterminator there with our young kids. Our immediate neighbors had three young kids and they would constantly come and press their faces to our screen doors to see inside the house. We weren't in much so I don't know how many times they peered in when we weren't there, lol. But again, that would depend on who was renting next to you. I'm sure we could have spoken to their parents but who really wants to get into that situation. Overall we had a nice stay! I just wanted to point out the minor cons because I would have wanted to know. I'm not sure we would rent this again because I'm very sensitive to cigarette smoke.

  The information on this property accurately reflected what we found. The condo was clean and welcoming. the chocolates on the pillows were an unexpected treat, along with the flowers and pineapple. Would highly recommend this unit and complex. Very clean and well kept complex. Lindsay was excellent to deal with before booking to answer our questions, during the booking and after we arrived. Very accommodating with our requests. Our stay was excellent. We watched the whales out front of the condo. Shopping and activities are on the Lahaina Front Street, which is a short drive down the road. We shopped at Costco and stocked up on groceries and booze. We also found Safeway in Lahaina a great place to shop. Eating out can be expensive. We also booked a vehicle in August 2012 for February 2013, which was a good thing as the cost for booking in Febuary was much higher. We enjoyed the Old Lahaina Luau, Warren and Annabelle's Magic Show, snorkelling, and we rented equipment from Boss Frog's.

  Beautiful property, and a perfect location at right around 1.5 miles from town. Quiet slow paced gated community.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

  We absolutely loved this townhouse! The oceanfront view is spectacular. Lindsay met us when we arrived and was available 24/7 if we needed anything. It's a magic spot. My only complaint is that our trip was too short! We'll definitely be back...

  Our family of 5 adults spent eight days at this delightful unit. Puamana is a great location and this gated community is ideally located at the south end of Lahaina. The beach is beautiful and we even watched two manta rays in the surf just a couple of feet off the beach. Since the unit wasn't rented the day after we were leaving the owner let us use it past the checkout time effectively giving us another day (we caught a red eye the last night of our trip). The only disappointment was that although the listing said 3.5 bathrooms there were only two full baths and two more with only toilets and a sink. The one in the third bedroom was particularly small with no fan and a mirror that was almost unusable. All in all, we had a great time in this unit and would go back.

• Great ocean-front condo

  This was a wonderful condo for the kind of vacation that we were looking for. We spent a significant portion of our time just sitting out on the lanai - reading, drinking cocktails, and most of all, enjoying the ocean. If that's the kind of thing you're looking for in a Maui vacation, this is a fabulous place for it. We also went snorkeling one day at Puamana Beach Park, just south of the Puamana Estates - not necessarily the best spot for snorkeling (we also snorkeled at other locations on other days), but it was certainly extremely convenient to be able to just walk over there rather than have to drive somewhere. Things that could have been better - 1. Downtown Lahaina was a little further than we wanted to walk. 2. The condo does not have central air conditioning; only window air conditioners in the bedrooms. The first floor has a couple fans but no AC. But neither of those was a big deal.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

  I rented this Puamana townhome with a friend to relax, surf, get a little work done as well. My expectations were met! The unit was clean and well equiped with plenty cooking utensils and a pretty good barbaque. Proximity to surf and water was great with excellent ocean views. The ajoining units were a bit close and could hear what was going on next door when out on the lanai...but neighbors were very friendly so that worked out fine in the long run. I would definetly rent this unit again and highly reccomend a stay there to anyone looking for a high quality semi-private beach setting right on the water! Great alternative to the hotel resort scene for sure as this has all that without the all the people!

• Loved Puamana!!

  My husband, two children and myself absolutely LOVED Puamana!! We swam in the ocean every day, rented a stand up paddle surfboard in Lahaina, enjoyed cocktails while watching whales and the most gorgeous, colorful sunsets we have ever seen! We have not slept so well in years but here in Maui, listening to the sounds of the lapping waves and enjoying the soft evening breezes, we slept like babies. The accommodations were neat and clean and even better than we could have imagined. This was a vacation of a lifetime and we will be back.

Additional information about rental rates

Cancellation is required 60 days or more prior to arrival date for a deposit refund (less a cancellation fee). If space can be re-rented, a pro-rated refund will be issued.

We accept all major credit cards plus a 3% processing fee, checks in US dollars and bank wire transfers.

A 25% deposit and completed rental contract are due within 10 days of booking. Full payment is due 60 days prior to arrival. Arrival / entry details will be send to guest upon receipt of full payment.

All rates subject to 13.42% tax (TAT and GET tax)

$250 out cleaning fee
