Roseneath is an elegant, historic bungalow style vacation cottage located in a garden retreat just a few steps from North America's oldest golf course, the Niagara-on-the-Lake Golf Club. Additional activities are cycling, three Shaw theatres, quaint shops, fine dining, miles and miles of nature trails and Niagara’s award-winning wineries. This picturesque cottage and property is full of history! The Crown Patent for the original lot was granted in 1802 although the lot was divided only in 1905. This single family detached dwelling was built circa: 1890 and was moved to the present site in September 1919. The nucleus of the house was originally an “officer’s rest house” on the Fort George Commons. The property is exquisitely landscaped and the cozy exterior appearance belies an expansive interior. A shed at the back was built circa: 1900 and has been transformed into a welcoming studio. The main house projects happiness in its décor and serves as the perfect get-away for all who stay.
This luxury vacation cottage has been fully modernized and is fully equipped! Decorated with an Anthropologie style and flair of colour, you will be lavishly at home in its exquisiteness. The home features a gas fireplace, flat panel large screen TV with blue-ray DVD player, stereo with auxiliary inputs for your iPod/MP3 player.
Sleeps up to six people with two bedrooms: one king bed suite is off of the lanai, and the second bedroom has a queen bed. The luxury sofa bed is queen size. There are two full bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen!
Additional amenities are central air conditioning, wireless Internet, laundry facilities and BBQ.

We are in old town Niagara-on-the-Lake, just a minute stroll from the lake front and the oldest golf course in North America! A quiet residential area but with the convenience of being just a stroll away from all the quaint shops and the Shaw Festival Theatres. We also have the luxury of being around the corner from the Oban Inn which is one of the best restaurants and spas in town!
Our little oasis is situated between Queen Street and Front Street in a garden proud neighourhood ! We really enjoy our quiet street that is nestled in amongst the activities on queen street. We love to sit on our front veranda and watch the horse drawn carriages meander by! Our evening strolls take us along some of the most beautiful homes in Niagara-on-the-Lake and the temptation is to get an ice cream along the way! See if you can resist!?!
We love to cook with all the fresh local produce but never seem to have all the ingredients, so we are fortunate that it is quicker to walk to the local grocer than drive! We get all our fresh baked bread, fruits, veggies and snacks daily. We love the cheese shop and the boutique food shops such as Kurtz' and Greaves! Did I mention 3 bakeries, 2 wine stores, fudge shop, Scottish shop and countless ice cream shops to tempt you ?
The theatres for the Shaw on Queen Street make it easy to walk to and not have to worry about parking, the festival theatre should only take us about 8 minutes to walk to, but inevitably we are distracted along the way so we always allow ourselves about 1/2 hour so we can stroll at our leisure.

We really enjoy sharing our love for this town with our guests because they enjoy the charm, history, and culture the way we do. We love having family here, but when the grandkids go, and its just the two of us, well what can I say, romance is in the air!
We love to garden, and really enjoyed the screened in back patio dining area with the grill/bbq. I am not a foody but my wife certainly is. Living here with all the fresh local produce inspires the gourmet in her!
We love walking and biking around town to see all the changes and what is new and interesting in everyone's garden! My favourite time is early morning and having a coffee on my front porch!
Why Niagara-on-the-Lake: Old town Niagara-on-the-Lake reminds me of a much simpler time. Also being so close to the water, we get the benefit of the breeze and all the positive ions. Our hearts were set on finding a little historic cottage that was a bungalow with a large garden. We had walked by Roseneath on many occasions and often dreamed what it would be like to live here. We were so fortunate that we timed one of our stays just as it came up for sale!
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage: Roseneath has all the historical charm of a bungalow, but it is solidy built and has been updated. The huge back bedroom with a king bed has the view of the garden. The lay out is unique but it actually makes the house well organized with the perfect kitchen for a cook to get a faboulous meal ready and is ideally located to the dining room. The front room is the living room and TV room and the huge Florida doors make the front veranda seem like part of the room!
This house is quaint enough to be romantic, but spacious enough that when the family is all here, we still have room to move!
The huge fire place also makes this an appealing spot no matter what time of year!
