A group of 6 of us spent the weekend in this home for a surprise birthday trip for my husband. Steve is so easy to work with and accommodating, which made our trip wonderful before it even started. The home is beautiful and the pictures are absolutely accurate. We had plenty of room and enjoyed the amenities. We spent most of our time downtown, which is about a 15 minute drive - this property is in an excellent location. One item to note is that the property is on well water. We had a great time and hope to return - next time we'll have to stay longer than a weekend!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

I enjoyed jumping on the trampoline and having the wood-burning stove lit at night! It also did not take long to get to downtown Asheville, and there was a delicious Italian restaurant named Piazza a few minutes away!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Very Nice house, located in a beautiful hills and very quiet area and so near to everything that one could wish to visit, or do for leisure or for business. Very comfortable for 6 persons, or more and even for just a couple. Listing descriptions and photos were absolutely accurate. There is such a large diversity of wonderful restaurants and attractions and nature and and and ... that I would need to come back soon to explore all hoping to stay in this warm feeling and comfortable home and I would recommend it to family and friends.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1998
About the owner: We built this home as a 'launching pad' for our new adventure that was to be living in Asheville, & to house our family and friends as life presented itself. It has at different times housed, 3 generations of our family, and many other friends and family sporadically! :-) We have a stone plaque that hangs outside the door of any home we are living in that reads; 'Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.' This home was built to provide welcome and hospitality to all. We now hope that will hold true for many others as we open up this wonderful place for travelers from near and far visiting beautiful Asheville.
Why the Owner Chose Asheville:
We chose Asheville to call home, and moved our family and our business down here in 1998. This is such an amazing location. We get all 4 seasons, but Spring and Fall are the most intense, which is just spectacular! Fairview, and the Falls at Edenderry afford quiet & privacy, the feel of living in the country, while only being 10 minutes from downtown Asheville. This is simply a great place to live, and a super place to visit.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
This house exudes warmth and relaxation, in a very casual, farmhouse atmosphere. The minute you drive into The Falls at Edenderry you feel the connection with nature, and the serenity related to all the water & trees. Walking the property, sitting on the dock, or sitting out on the front porch, the warmth and welcome of the home overtakes you. The house is very functional, affording plenty of privacy, while also promoting a sense of gathering, and sharing amongst friends and family. The home opens up to allow the sounds of nature to cascade throughout, creating a calm and serene atmosphere. Fires in the wood-burning stove provide a warm and relaxing feel to everyone.
