Gulf access and located in the private residential sub-division of Sugarwood, just a mile from the community of Seaside and only 700 yards from the nearest beach access, 'Hummingbird Cottage' is the ideal beach home for your family vacation. Sitting at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, where you can experience a tranquil get-away while being convenient to the beach, local shops and restaurants in Seagrove, Seaside (where the Jim Carey movie 'The Truman Show' was filmed) and Watercolor
Easy beach access directly across from community entrance or you may want to drive to nearby beach access where there is parking, restrooms and lifeguards.
Either way, squeaky sugar white quartz sand and crystal clear emerald waters await. Dolphins can sometimes be seen playing just a short distance offshore.
Great area for bike riding. No Pets. Parking for 3 cars. Weekly rentals from Saturday to Saturday.
Main House: A large screened porch greets you as you enter this beautifully decorated and creatively designed private beach house. Its relaxed coastal style with a subtle European accent will be sure to enchant you. It's a great place to relax while watching our very own community of hummingbirds who enjoy the flowers in the front yard.
The ground floor includes a large living area with fireplace, adjoining dining area and a gourmet kitchen with granite counter-tops and breakfast bar.
A very spacious master suite on the ground floor features a King bed, a cozy sitting area and adjoining private bath with Jacuzzi, walk-in shower and separate vanities, which can be used to provide for a guest who needs first floor accommodation. Off the master suite is a private porch where you can relax in peace and quiet.
Upstairs: Upstairs you will find two charming guest rooms inspired by the unique local surroundings. The light and sunny coastal room has a set of Twin bunk beds with a trundle and jaunty nautical theme. The tranquil lake room has two Full beds and a chorus of fairy frogs. These bedrooms each have their own private vanity and share a Jack’n’Jill tub/shower room.
The top floor tower room, surrounded by windows and a unique, wrap-around porch, is the perfect place to retreat with your favorite book after a day at the beach.
Just steps from the main house is a private carriage house with an open concept living, dining and fully-equipped kitchen area plus a private bedroom with a Queen bed, two walk-in closets and an adjoining bathroom.

We completely enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The owner and agency were both more than helpful. The house is perfectly located in a quiet area not too far from the beach. We loved everything-very relaxing! We hope to stay again in the future! We (couple and a 4 year old girl) had a fantastic stay at this lovely house. We enjoy very much to stay at self catering houses during our holidays. This was the most exciting one we have been to so far. Fully equipped with wireless it, large wide screen tv, top modern kitchen, wash room etc. In addition the whole house is furnished and decorated with a touch of an artist to every inch. The house was really relaxing and comfortable for our minds and at the same time beautiful for our eyes. Not to mention the nice porch on the front side of the house, where we had our afternoon teas. Our daughter loved it as well and took of course great interest in everything from dvd to toys for the beach, that there were plenty of. A nice walk to and from the beach and easy drives to the golf courses the house is also very conveniently located. Very good guidance is available in the house; binders on "sights and things do in the neighbourhood". Also excellent instructions on how the utilities inside the house worked. Many thx to the owners (Olga & Andrew) for making our stay with you in your beautiful house a fantastic vacation experience. The house was truly a home away from home, except better. Very stylishly furnished with really nice touches in keeping with the area and featuring local art and crafts. The house was spacious and well laid out, with plenty of sitting areas for all to gather together or have their own space. I loved the loft room, fab views over the surrounding area and the porch was a lovely place to sit and relax in the day. My husband liked the huge TV and the thoughtful supply of DVDs and books. Bedrooms and bathrooms were huge and the kitchen had plenty of everything, much better equipped than other places we have stayed. The location of the house was great, a short walk to a fabulous beach or restaurants, cafes and shops. There's also a handy supermarket nearby. We enjoyed the fact that you can hire bikes nearby and there are plenty of places to go to bike and walk with good state parks. We had 3 weeks travelling round Florida and this was by far the best place, the house and location far exceeded our expectations, the owners have thought of everything to make the stay perfect from lots of useful local information to a house that has everything you could want and more.Did you find this review helpful? We stayed for our spring break this year and had a fabulous time. The home is set back in a peaceful and quite cul de sac. We rode bike to San Juan access and walked too. Beautiful neighborhood. Hummingbird cottage is our favorite new house. Classically elegant but a definite subtle beach feel. There was every appliance we needed and everything from the kitchen to the bed linens are first class. We will be back!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children.

Sunny for six days and overcast for one. We went to the Gulf, tanned, swam, played bocce ball, went to the movies at Destin Commons. Walked on the beach, ate out, snorkeled, watched the sun set, crab hunted, and enjoyed your gorgeous home! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. This has been by far my best experience while staying in Florida. The cute decorations help add tons to the overall experience. I hope God blesses you all and your home. Thanks again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, people with disabilities.

Favorite moment: morning with coffee and breakfast sitting on the wonderful front porch. So peaceful and relaxing. The separate carriage house is key! The teenagers really enjoy having their own space and we enjoyed having ours. Beautifully and comfortably decorated with so many beautiful touches to make it feel special and like home! Felt like the set of a Nancy Meyers movie, where the house is as awesome as the characters of the movie. Really appreciate the attention to detail. Loved our time together with family – making memories at the holidays in the perfect setting: we had a wonderful time. Thanks for sharing you beautiful beach house with us. We all love your interiors – so cozy and comfortable, but very tastefully decorated with interesting and “neat” accessories everywhere. It really makes a beach vacation that much more enjoyable. And the house being stocked with so much: pots, pans, dishes, extra blankets, small appliances … really makes it amenable. We truly enjoyed every minute here and will have a hard time leaving it behind. Hope to return again in the near future. Absolutely loved the carriage house!
