Our beautiful log home is nestled among mountain laurels in a forested setting. The quiet and serene surroundings are enhanced by the availability of a comfortable home with modern amenities. The home has a modern stainless steel kitchen, 2 bathrooms with Jacuzzi whirlpool tubs, spacious gathering places on each of the three floors, gas burning stone fireplaces on the bottom two floors, music throughout the home, a full length of the house covered rear deck, a garage as well as additional parking in the rear of the house.
Access to the home is only 120 miles from Charlotte, N.C. and is only 2 hours travel on 4 lane highways but for the last 8 miles. Winston Salem is only 90 miles to the east and also connects by way of 4 lane roads to our home. Once here, it is a comfortable walk downhill from the house to the New River for enjoyment of fishing, tubing, and kayaking. Adjacent to the river is Railroad Grade Road that is hill-free and links the rustic village of Todd to the small town of Fleetwood. This 11 mile road is ideal for hiking, biking and even occasionally horse-drawn carriage rides.
There are many picturesque settings and adventures that await you in the surrounding areas from our home. Many ski slopes are close-by, quaint towns such as Blowing Rock, Boone, Linville, and Foscoe are with thirty minute drives. Other adventures, including the famous Grandfather mountain, Linville caverns, Elk Knob State Park, and Moses Cone Park are all nearby. The Mountain Air Golf Course is only about 10 miles from our home, and is a public course with beautiful scenery. Many fine restaurants are closeby. Artisanal, near Banner Elk, is perhaps one of the best dining sites in North Carolina, and other exquisite dining facilities are notable in Blowing Rock and Linville.
Though we expect consistent occupation of our rental, it would be a consideration to provide single room rentals to a couple should we have the home unrented within a week of the desired date. The rates for such are in this website.
