Relax on the front porch, behind the 100 year old ferns in our rocking chairs with a glass of your favorite beverage. You can watch the clouds predict the weather coming around the mountains or relax in adironrack chairs in the backyard with another view of the hillside behind. Step in the front door and experience generations of family living! Nola's House is close to historical sites and all outdoor experiences-hiking, biking, hunting, fishing, downhill and cross country skiing, canoeing, kayaking, country drives and horseback riding.

Close to Greenbrier River Trail for hiking,biking, cross country skiing; entire county for fishing, hunting, Greenbrier River and Knapps Creek for kayaking, canoeing, & swimming and inner tubes (in season). Twenty miles south of Snowshoe Ski Resort as well as all activities found in 'Nature's Mountain Playground'-Cass Scenic Railroad, Watoga State Park, National Radio Astronomy and Observatory, Bear Town and Droop Mountain Battlefield State Parks. Close to the Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs.

This was a perfect place for our whole family (4 separate family units in all) to stay for our annual family reunion in the area! There was plenty of room for everyone and sleeping conditions were comfortable. It was nice to have a home, instead of hotel rooms, for our toddlers to play in and the adults to relax at when not at the "reunion festivities". Plus we enjoyed the opportunity to all stay together for the weekend.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

The house was wonderful - clean - perfect location - enjoyed the entire house and the wonderful weekend !!!Recommended for: Families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

My husband, sons & I have stayed in Nola's House twice & loved it both times! The ambiance of the house is that of going back to times when life was simpler, the pace was slower, the demands much less. We felt like we were part of the family there. The town is charming with the river close by. I especially enjoyed the Greenbrier Biking Trail. As for fishing - where can you not fish is the question. We fished literally a couple of blocks away all the way to some miles away in fresh mountain streams with beautiful backdrops! Then we brought our catch home & had friend fish for dinner. There is a small local grocer down the street. We hope to return this spring.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers.

About the owner: My brothers and I grew up in this house, as did my father's family before us. We love the feel of going back home, as you will when you return again and again! Although we were all transplanted to neighboring states, West Virginia is in our blood. If you like a slower pace, a small town with varied activities for different ages and friendly folks , you will love Nola's House in Marlinton.

This house is being shared by my family for your family. We have hosted family and high school class reunions and varied holiday celebrations; Christmas is still 'Christmas' here for my family, snow or not!
