Finally! Comfort and value in Tulum!
Finally! Comfort and value in Tulum!
Over tha past 20 years I have stayed in Tulum just over a handful of times. I find the hotels on the beach charge a premium for rustic accommodations and many hotels in town more affordable at the price of comfort or cleanliness. Zenaliza is an excellent providing beautiful spotless rooms and all the amenities one could hope for. I visited with my husband and another couple but look forward to taking my two young kids to Tulum now, as they are welcome at Zenaliza and the communal kitchen would make life so easy. The extra large rooms open into suites with communal doors as well. We had a car to zip into town and to the beach but I think renting bicycles would also be a great option when staying at this property. After a long day of visiting ruins, cenotes, and the beach, this villa was a perfect hideaway to come home to and shut out the noise. Our room had a/c (and TV, tastefully covered with a beautiful cloth but there for those who desire) but even in the July heat it was not needed, as the coolness of the jungle kept the room at perfect temperature both day and night. The staff were all wonderful and very special people and the masseuse, Erica, gives the best massage I think I have ever had. I hope to get a group of my girlfriends together to stay for a week and have a local yoga teacher come give us classes under the communal palapa. In any case, I will be back to this special property very soon!

Owner response: Thanks for the wonderful review. Three things to note: 1) the communal kitchen is only available for groups renting the entire villa. For guests in rooms and suites we serve breakfast and offer the services of a private chef. 2) We have two bicycles on the property that guests may use for free. 3) Erica also offers facials and body wraps as well as her incredible massages.
A real find
A real find
my husband and I spent a week here and were perfectly happy. It was 2 minutes into town for dinner and a ten minute drive to the best beaches. The house was located in a private and extremely quiet area you could actually hear the birds chirping as there's a nature sanctuary quite close by. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and there is some beautiful tile and wood work in the rooms and are kept extremely clean The grounds are pretty and provide a good space to just relax or read. Our host was charming and informative about everything from where to eat to where to get the best massage. We are looking foward to our next stay here. This is definitely one of those repeat places

Beautiful vacation spot
Beautiful vacation spot
My boyfriend and I stayed at Villa Zena Liza in July 2011, and everything about it was wonderful. The photos are very accurate, it is clean, beautifully designed and very quiet being that it's a few roads out of downtown Tulum. It would be a great choice for small or large gatherings because of the screened palapa for hanging out late, plus the doors between rooms can make it quite private when needed. The grounds are really pretty with local trees and plants. And the artistry on the windows, bathroom tile and doors are very unique. It is a short drive or bike ride to the stretch of beach in Tulum and even closer to great restaurants and bars. If you're looking for an authentic, relaxed vacation this is the place. The owners are very helpful, know the area well and are a great resource for knowledge about activities and things to do. Highly recommended!
