Lost Island hunting club and lodge.: We have operated our family owned hunting club at Lost Island for 30 years. We offer guided, and non-guided hunts and lodging throughout the waterfowl season. Our hunting is done on our improved wetlands from electrified, heated blinds and pits, as well as portable and permanent heated blinds from sandbars and islands on our 2 miles of Platte River. Ice out systems ensure a quality hunt even during cold, late season outings. Our lodge and bunkhouse were built in 1993, and 1998 respectively. Extensive wetland enhancement projects were completed in 1996, with approximately 70 acres flooded during the fall . Our most recent improvement is a heated indoor game processing facility complete with stainless steel table and sinks, walk-in cooler, hot & cold running water, ceiling fan, and bar. Guides Lounge and Highballers Club coming soon. Additionally, Late season deer hunts and spring turkey hunts are available. References, rates, and available dates provided upon request.
Additional information.: We do not have telephone or internet. Cell phone reception is good, as are wireless internet devices for your laptop.
Guided fishing trips available spring, summer, and fall. Guided mushroom hunts available in spring. Guided Airboat tours up the Platte River available with reservation. Boat ramp available. Kitchen has 2 refrigerator/freezers.Family reunions, business retreats, youth groups, womens groups, couples, multifamily outings, equestrian groups, church groups, and group hunts, all work well. Our family reunion of 19 people all loved Lost Island Lodge. We were together under one roof, but had lots of places to be alone, or with smaller groups. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to serve meals and we had more than enough room at the tables. The firepit worked great and Kyle explained how it worked to our chief cook. In fact, he met us when we arrived and answered all our questions. We were the first group to use the new patio and on the last evening we just hung out and made s'mores and chatted one last time. We had a thunderstorm that afternoon, with a downpour and even hail, and Mother Nature gave us a rainbow to enjoy. The temps cooled down and the new patio kept us out of the puddles with a place to be outside, but without wet feet. Thanks, Kyle.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

We stayed at Lost Island Lodge for my wife's 30th birthday getaway. Kyle met us out there to go over all it had to offer and answer any questions we might have. We were immediately impressed with the cleanliness and amenities offered here. Everything was very organized with all the comforts of home. The first night we had several families and the children ranged from 1-9, they had a blast making s'mores, skipping rocks, and even tried horseshoes. The second night (no kids) smoked meat, played horseshoes, got a fire going, a poker game and a cigar for the guys. All in all a relaxing weekend, one that came to an end far too quick! Can't wait to do it again! Thanks for a great time Kyle!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

We just had a wonderful, relaxing week at the Lost Island Lodge. It is spacious and very comfortable. Our family of 19 had no problems spreading out in the place; during meals, when relaxing indoors out of the heat and with sleeping in all those bedrooms! And the lodge looked fantastic, with beautiful woodwork and interesting items everywhere. There were plenty of bathrooms, a fabulous kitchen; everything stocked with necessities and very clean. Coupled with a location on wooded acres with the Platte River at your doorstep, there was nothing more to ask for. We had a spectacular vacation and enjoyed the Lost Island Lodge immensely. We definitely will be looking to coming back.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.

Owner response: Thanks Bo, Great crew. We can't wait to have you back! Think "catfishing" this summer or teal hunting and catfishing in early September. Maybe take in a Husker football game. Hope to see you then. Sincerely, Kyle
