Emerald-by-the-Sea is a unique villa with a wonderful location within Silver Sands. It is poised on a slight elevation which allows sweeping views of the Caribbean Sea, yet is a short stroll down to the beach.
The long-time staff, consisting of Kerene, the helpful, caring and attentive housekeeper, and Gloria, the wonderful cook of many mouth-watering and finger-licking dishes, aim to please and take care of your daily needs and requests, so that you can focus on the reason you came to Emerald in the first place.....to relax, unwind and not have a care in the world.
In addition to the bright and airy, open-concept living and dining room upstairs which fully extend to the patio and pool deck as well as to the jaw dropping, 'pinch myself' view of the Caribbean, there are also 3 relaxing bedrooms, each with its ensuite bathroom. Downstairs has a separate, private apartment (considered the 4th bedroom) with a king size bed, living and dining rooms, and its own entry. It is rented as part of the "4 bedroom" package. There will never be a second party renting that space when the upstairs is occupied.
Silver Sands, with its gated and security-manned entrance, offers a sense of safety and worry-free living. This 250 acre community/resort consists of over 100 villas that are both primary residents and rental/holiday homes. This special mix gives that home away from home atmosphere to Silver Sands. Indeed, when you go for your morning or evening walk through the neighborhood you will realize that you have really arrived at your second home.
There are a beach grill, bar, tennis courts and gift shop, all available within the resort. These are great places to meet your fellow guests and villa owners from around the world.
Getting married? Plan a destination wedding to Silver Sands where you and your guests can rent villas all on the same compound. Emerald has, over the years, hosted several wedding parties. "Emerald By The Sea " is a beautiful villa on Jamaica's north coast. It is one of the villas in the Silver Sands complex, and offers excellent value for money.It is perfect for a weekend retreat ( as I experienced ), but believe me you will want to stay longer.The villa has lovely rooms, friendly staff,a private swimming pool and access to a world class beach.The view from the terrace is breathtaking ,and is particularly beautiful at nights.I can't think of a better villa in which to relax.Did you find this review helpful? About the owner: The villa was built by my late brother, and is now run by my mom and myself. My mom lives in Jamaica, and I am a musician/teacher residing in North Carolina, USA.
Why the Owner Chose Silver Sands Estates:
As Jamaicans, we truly love the scenery and beaches in almost any location on the island, but Silver Sands is one of the premier places to live and to vacation in Jamaica. The small private, gated community is very family friendly, and has its own private beach for swimming, snorkeling, sun-bathing, relaxing, spending family time, and for meeting the other residents and guests from around the world.
As an extended family we have enjoyed the times we've spent at Silver Sands. A couple of years ago on our mom's 80th birthday several of us children traveled from various parts of the world to celebrate her birthday at Silver Sands. We wanted to make her birthday even more special, so we took a cake down to the beach around 7 p.m., invited all the guests (some from Germany, Canada, England, the United States, and Jamaica) and S.S. residents who were hanging out on the beach to join us right there for a birthday celebration for my mom. Everyone participated, toasted my mom and said such kind words. We had a fantastic time!!
Duncans, in the parish of Trelawny, is only a short 45 minutes drive from the bustling and happening city of Montego Bay with all of its amenities and its international airport. We are also just a 45 minute drive in the other direction to Ocho Rios, with the stunning Dunn's River Falls, which you can climb up; the international cruise ship port of call and many different attractions for tourists and locals alike. RELAXATION!!! What more can you ask for!? My blood pressure drops, I am calm, happy and feel as if I am in another galaxy. All feels right with the world when I am there, relaxing around the pool and enjoying the sweeping, breathtaking, panoramic view of the bluest of blue Caribbean Sea!!
Also, as a mom, who is always taking care of everyone else, it is really nice to be cooked for and cleaned up after for a change. I really appreciate that!
