  I have just returned from Casa del Rio. My husband and I spent Thanksgiving here at this beautiful home and it was everything that we could ask for. The home was exactly what we wanted and a lot more. We enjoyed just doing a lot of relaxing and we entertained our friends that live in the area for Thanksgiving day. I just want to thank Doug and Sherri for all the hard work they have done in this home to make it so comfortable and beautiful. We did not have any problems with anything and everything was perfect. Thanks again so much for letting us stay in your beautiful home.

  We enjoyed your home and had a wonderful time. It was nice to be able to bring our dog and my son's dog. This way we were able to relax and not worry about the pets being left behind. After all they are part of the family. The weather was great, caught several fish and had the best time scalloping. It's the first time ever we caught our limit in scallops. Hope to return again next year.

  Our family rented Casa Del Rio for an entire month and it was money and time well spent! Upon arrival we were greeted with fresh flowers and a basket of fresh fruit, but the hospitality did not end there. We found that our every need was met whether it was a certain cooking spice or just plenty of paper towels and toilet tissue. The house has a very casual feel, but full of high quality furnishings and linens. The outdoor space was amazing as well and we spent almost as much time outdoors as we did indoors. Our month at Casa Del Rio will go down as one of our best vacations of all time.

  Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

  Shopping downtown, out on the boat, relaxing on the chaise lounge chairs in the sun, celebrating Bruce’s birthday – lots of food and drinks – celebrating with the family.

  Rolled the jet ski, that was very funny!! Kayaked around and went to Shell Island with friends and dogs. Enjoyed shopping downtown.

  Took a long kayak ride and saw three momma manatees and each one had a baby. Also rode past egrets and a great blue heron. A mullet jumped across my kayak! Then an alligator slid into the water near me, so I reversed direction and paddled away quickly.

  Went for Thai food for lunch, shopping for a new chair, went out on boat to Shell Island, and took the dogs out in the boat. Spent time with family. Thanks Doug and Sherri for a wonderful time.

  Sat out on the deck, relaxed, drank some Bloody Mary’s and gin and tonics. Great seafood. Went jet skiing, boating and shopping. Thank so much.

  Took the kids out to Shell Island for a picnic. We had a great time until we were getting ready to leave and the bugs came. On our way back in we came across a pod of bottle nose dolphins and stopped the boat to watch them for a while. The kids loved it!

  Relaxed, read, went to a wedding in Tampa, little bit of sun tanning, enjoyed the quiet, slept at night (rare for me). Thanks so much for your place. It was worth the drive time to south Tampa and back (4 times!) for the peace and tranquility here. Come visit Colorado. You are both welcome any time. Come ski!

  Drank, jet-skied, drank, ate, drank, kayaked and drank!! Also hit Fresh Produce. The fabulous crab, shrimp, and grouper dinner. We rate the Casa del Rio a fabulous rarely awarded 5 out of 5 manatees.

  Relaxed, enjoyed manatees. You have a beautiful home and we enjoyed our stay. Went kayaking, it was incredible. I got tipped by a manatee. We scared each other to death.

  We went boating and got to meet new friends and had a lot of laughs. Weather was perfect. We had a wonderful seafood dinner and relaxed. The whole weekend was very relaxing – great friends, great food and great fun! This weekend was just what doctor ordered for both of us. Thanks for a wonderful weekend.

  Spent most of the time sitting on the deck and enjoying the sun and view. Went to beach, park and antique stores. Had a great meal outside at Crackers. Quietness was so conducive to reading and relaxing.

  We did everything! Shopping, kayaking, boating, fishing and relaxing. Enjoyed kayaking around the Bay- it was so relaxing and fun floating around with the girls laughing and having a wonderful time. It was a little wild when it started pouring rain!!

  Walked early in the morning, had friends over and went out on the boat at Pete’s Pier. Just being able to enjoy the piece and quite. I’m very envious! We loved it and really appreciate your hospitality. Thank you, thank you and thank you from all of us.

  Went shopping, enjoyed wonder food on your grill, and enjoyed your great décor. Much, much fun sitting on the deck at 6:00 am. Enjoyed giggling and eating with friends.

  We all went to the gift shops and down to the beach for a little while. Played scrabble with Bruce and Colton on Friday night. Bruce won as usual! Bruce and mom watched The Last Samurai on Saturday night. Thanks.

  Enjoyed some much needed rest and relaxation and quality time with the family. Casa del Rio is the perfect place for that. We found it very comfortable and peaceful. Next time, though, we plan to do some water activities. It was a real treat staying here. We will certainly recommend it to our friends.
