  We were quite impressed! The unit was actually better than what the pictures showed. We originally planned to stay 2 nights only (then move to a downtown SFO hotel on the 3rd night) but ended up staying there 3 nights. The beautiful and spacious bathroom with 2 sinks and separate shower and tub is the unit's best feature. The towels and floor mats were thick and luxurious. There's a Keurig coffee maker and a small fridge in the unit. The unit was clean and comfortable and the owner, Monica, was kind enough to provide us with an extra mattress and sheets as requested. She even turned up the heat for us because coming from the East Coast, we are used to 70 degrees F in our homes. She was so easy to work with. The unit is on the 2nd floor of a private house with its own private entrance through outdoor stairs. We had no problem going up and down the steps (we are in our early 50's and 60's), but I'm not sure if someone much older or with a physical condition would find it challenging. The unit is convenient to Mill Valley area attractions, Whole Foods supermarket and many restaurants. Monica gave us recommendations to their favorite restaurants (I don't remember which ones now) and they were excellent choices. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family planning to stay in the Mill Valley area.

  We had a very good weeklong stay at this guest suite. We were in Mill Valley for a wedding reception and a visit with our daughter and her family, and it gave us the opportunity to visit without imposing too much, and also have our own space. Accommodations were very clean! The arrangement of 2 bedrooms and one bathroom was perfect for our needs, since we only slept and bathed there; days were spent visiting or touring. One of our daughters accompanied us for 2 of the days, and the single bedroom was very suitable for her. The other bedroom has a very comfortable queen sized bed, as well as a coffee maker and mini- refrigerator. (We did not need a kitchen, since we were eating most meals at restaurants or at our daughter's home.). The bathroom was especially nice, and obviously recently renovated. It has a large vanity with double sinks, a bathtub, as well as a large, separate shower. Towels and bathmats were wonderfully plush, and quality soap and shampoo, as well as a hairdryer, were all provided. There is a private entrance to the guest suite with a flight of stairs to access the entrance. This was not a problem for us (we're 67 yrs old), but if someone has trouble with climbing steps, this might be a problem for them. We found Whole Foods, Rite-Aid and CVS, and Cafe Oggi at a nearby shopping center within about a 10 min. walk. Cafe Oggi was especially fun for morning breakfast ( indoor or outdoor), and had a very appealing and reasonably priced lunch menu. There are so many excellent restaurants in the area, that it's just lots of fun to "eat your way through town"! It's about a 2 mile walk into the center of the village of Mill Valley, but a good way to walk off any extra calories. If you're hoping to travel any distance for hikes or to the beaches, city or wine tasting, you will need a car. Last but not least, this guest suite was a GREAT value for the rate charged, and we would definitely return; but I have a feeling it will be unavailable because it's going to be booked solid once people find it! Although located just minutes from a major highway, we really didn't hear any traffic noise.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing.
