Enjoy this serene ocean community with your family and loved ones or just chill with a cold drink and a good book on this pristine beach. Attached boardwalk to the dunes; 300 yds to the beach from your door. This new fully equipped remodeled kitchen with granite counter tops, stainless appliances and much, much more will not disappoint! The large great room is light and airy and will be the focal point of your family gatherings. You will not feel cramped in this house! The RBT is attractively furnished and thoughtfully equipped for the enjoyment of our guests.
The Rest & Be Thankful is that special comfortable home located in the private community of Ocean Sands known for its clean & wide sandy beaches. This cottage is located on a quiet cul de sac, free of traffic… a great place for children to ride their bicycles and play. The house offers free high speed WiFi for all guests. The fishermen among you will appreciate the outside fish cleaning station. Tennis courts are available for your family right out your door. Golfers will appreciate the Currituck Club, a spectacular Rees Jones designed links style course that winds its way along the dunes and maritime forest on the edge of the Currituck Sound; the course is less than ½ mile away. As an added bonus, there are 5 other very nice golf courses within a half hour drive. Plenty of shopping, grocery stores, museums, great restaurants and other attractions just a short distance away!
UPPER MAIN LEVEL: Master suite with queen size bed, ceiling fan, two comfy reading chairs and an attached newly renovated full bath. Spacious great room with ceiling fan, a remote controlled gas fireplace, flat screen TV and DVD with MP3 dock Stereo system with CD player. Free high speed WiFi. Attractive dining area with seating for 8. Well equipped open kitchen with breakfast bar and seating for 4. Deck and screened in porch with table and seating for 6.
SECOND FLOOR LEVEL: 3 Bedrooms. Full hall bathroom. Laundry closet with full size washer and dryer. Master suite with queen size bed, ceiling fan, attached full bath. Bedroom with queen size bed, ceiling fan and private door to the front deck. Bedroom with 2 sets of bunk beds, a TV with DVD player and a door to the deck. The large deck looks out towards the ocean with deck chairs and a Hammock Swing for guests’ enjoyment.
GROUND LEVEL: Large Bedroom with a queen size bed and cable TV and two comfortable chairs for reading with an attached ½ bath. Outside shower; Fish cleaning station; Charcoal barbecue grill. Basketball goal for a pick-up game on the driveway. Under house parking for three cars and outside parking for two or three more. Keyless combination lock gives you easy access to the ground floor.

My stepmother, sister-in-law and I have stayed here several times over the past year and we now called it "our beach house". The beach is only a short walk away from the cottage which is fantastic when carrying beach chairs, a cooler etc. I love to lay in bed at night or sit on the deck and have dinner and hear the ocean. The kitchen and master bathroom have been beautifully updated and the whole house has a warm, welcoming feeling. In the winter months it is a wonderful place to get away for some peace and quiet. We spent New Years Eve at the house and I've never had such a wonderful start to a new year! It was wonderful to sit in the living room near the warm gas fireplace with my family. Its conveniently located near a Harris Teeter too! I love this place and wouldn't want to stay anywhere else!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

This was our first visit to the Outer Banks. We had a wonderful time. The beach home, "Rest and Be Thankful" had everything we wanted and more. It was beautifully decorated and very spacious. Plenty of room for our family to relax in. The wi-fi was very convient. We also loved the decks and screen porch, and the close proximity to the beach. Section F is in the center of Corolla, so it was easy to get to everything. We even had a Hariss Teeder accross from Section F. I would highly reccomend this beach home. We plan to go back.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: My husband and I and most of our adult children and their families live in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, just 2 1/2 hours from our cottage fondly called 'The Rest & Be Thankful'.
Why the Owner Chose Ocean Sands, Section F:
The beauty and serenity of the wide sandy beaches of Corolla first attracted us to the area. The family-friendly environment kept us coming back year after year. After a few years of renting in Ocean Sands Section F, we decided to 'take the plunge' and build our own cottage in the same section of Ocean Sands. Fifteen years later we are still enjoying our special home and the cherished memories that are made during each family gathering..
