Villa Bunga Wangi is a private 3 bedroom villa consisting of individual pavilions in a private garden setting within a secluded enclave of 8 exclusive holiday residences, overlooking the rice fields near the quiet village of Prerenan and Canggu beach. Close to the restaurants and retail areas of Legian / Seminyak and the popular tourist location of Tanah Lot Temple. For golfers the challenging Greg Norman designed Bali Nirwana Golf Course is nearby and has breathtaking views over the ocean. This villa has replicated traditional Balinese architecture and has a spirit and feeling of tranquility and peace that immediately relaxes all who enter.
The villa has its own dedicated villa staff, its own private swimming pool and a centrally located manager on the complex to assist with guests’ every enquiry. The villa provides a genuine sense of the traditional Bali, for those seeking a truly peaceful holiday.
On a daily basis the housekeeping staff service your room. The villa staff are available throughout the day to provide meals and drinks. All your meals can be catered for by the villa's excellent cook. There is a very simple system whereby guests provide funds to the villa's cook, he purchases all the groceries and provides you with receipts and change and a small fee for travel is included. There is no additional cost for preparing the food as this is covered in the cost of the villa rental. This is a very economical way to enjoy delicious food during your stay. Our villa cook provides meals suitable for children, traditional Balinese cuisine, right through to Italian, French and Japanese cuisine.
Many guests choose to hire a car and driver during their stay and is well worth the investment to enjoy hassle free travel around the island with someone who knows Bali well. This can easily be arranged for you prior to your arrival, or during your stay.
The villa is ideal for families. The children have the villa's private pool to keep them amused for hours. The villa is also wonderful for couples holidaying together. You have the convenience of your own private bedroom pavilions with ensuite bathroom and balcony and then can come together in the central living / lounge / dining pavilion at any time. Villa Bunga Wangi is also wonderful for just one couple wanting privacy and relaxation.
Safes are provided in every room for the security of your items. Our villa has all the conveniences of a hotel, yet it has the advantages of your own space, private pool, catering and staff.

As owners we have been many times to Bali and would be more than happy to assist you with information about things to see and do. The complex manager can also assist guests with information and arrange bookings for entertainment and restaurants.

Memories MadeGuest comment entered by manager
Thanks so much for all the pre trip assistance which you gave to me as it all turned out beautifully with Taylor's delicious cake and the lovely dancers- great memories were made! Mom had a wonderful time and the only problem is that we had to leave. The staff were just fabulous and well what can I say about the food - Katut was a dream and thanks to him ( and my holiday attitude towards food) input on 2 kg over the holiday!!!! Ah well it was worth it.

We had an absolutely amazing time at Villa Bunga Wangi. Our entire stay was absolutely flawless and we now have some great family memories together from our time spent at the villa. We completely unwound and relaxed and lost all concept of time. We were all in a blissed out stupor most of the time to the point where I am sure the staff thought we were a bit thick! Despite this the staff were amazing! Ketut prepared amazing meals, the seafood barbeque was great. The staff always greeted us with a smile and helped us with music, gin and tonics, taxis and organising masseuses by the pool on more than one occasion. They kept the rooms, pool and gardens immaculate throughout our stay. We are already discussing our next stay there which I hope is sooner rather than later!

Manager response: Thank you for your wonderful review. We are extremely pleased that you created some family memories during your stay. We truly hope to see you at the villa against soon.
An extended family get-together caused our Bali visit. Staying at Villa Bungawangi was our answer to not wanting to be in the Kuta area! We lucked out. Big time! Exactly as advertised … the exotic tropical vegetation on manicured grounds [2 gardeners], three oversized, beautifully presented bedroom pavilions with totally private outside showers [2 house service personnel], a 'Balinese' central pavilion with comfortable dining and lounging for the up to 8 guests [Ketut our private chef] and the substantial 'to die for' pool and cabana area … all combined to make the Villa Bungawangi a vacation of exquisites, including and especially, value. But what made it most exquisite were the Villa staff. They are Balinese, attentive, gentle, humble, unassuming and exceedingly competent. This team is lead by Ketut, the onsite Villa manager and our personal chef. With good English, an attentive ear, 6 star culinary skills and the desire to serve, Ketut served superb breakfasts, lunches and dinners daily then managed all staff to 'make' the Villa Bungawangi experience simply fantastic. We will definitely return! Planning it now.

We loved our stay at VBW. Actually, it was VBW that made our trip to Bali incredible! Everything was perfect. The service was amazing, the staff was so helpful and responsive. They loved my kids, helped us when we needed it, and went out of there way to cater to us. I kept telling my husband, 'I wonder if this is how the Kardashians feel when they vacation?" The villa itself is absolutely breath-taking. The details and thought put into it make it so unique. Who wouldn't want to come back? The staff was always a minute behind us, cleaning up, getting things ready... but never intrusive. I offered Katuk a chance to leave Bali, and come move in with us (Singapore), but I think he likes it there. Because we have 5 children, and they were always exhausted at the end of every day, we never went out to eat. Katuk gave us no reason to want to go out to eat. Even for my birthday... Katuk made it special. They gave me a bouquet of flowers, and Katuk made a banana cake that was to die for. I'm still having dreams of that banana cake. We enjoyed the safari/marine park, Waterbom water park, and shopping.... but we had the most fun just relaxing by the pool, having a drink in the outdoor living room, or just walking around the villa to look at all of the fish. (In fact, I loved the chairs in your living room so much that I went with my driver out on a 6 hour tour around Bali to find similar chairs to ship back to Singapore. I finally found some very similar at Bali Gong- in case anyone else loves them as much as I did!) I can't wait to get them!

This was my first trip to Bali and what a way to experience this wonderful island. The Villa Bunga Wangi in the village of Pererenan, Canggu was everything I expected it to be and absolutely lived up to the website promises regarding the location, amenities and appearance. The accommodation and gardens had just the right feel of luxury Balinese style. It was tempting to spend the entire 10 days in those surroundings whilst being looked after by the amazing chef Katut and the villa staff. They really helped to ensure that our every need was met and made the holiday more special with their quiet dignity. Nevertheless, day outings were a must and, with the help of our driver who was actually a great tour guide, we explored many facets of the island. Seminyak was the closest town for shopping, eating, spa facilities (very reasonably priced and a must!). Whilst the towns are accessible, I was particularly interested in driving to the countryside. Day trips consisted of about 3 hours return trip during the course of the day with frequent stops for scenery and wonderful little restaurants. Trips worth noting included the Bali Botanical Gardens at Bedugal, bartering for fruit and veges at the traditional markets at Candikuning, the temple of Ulun Danu Bratan on the shores of Lake Bratan, lunch at stunning Jatiluwih (famous for its terraced rice paddies) followed by a rather fun back route return. Other day trips of note included Penelokan in the region of Kintamani. A cooler climate in the highlands, Penelokan is an ideal place from which to view the still active volcano, Mt Batur and Lake Batur below. Hawkers were prevalent here but our driver was always on hand to quickly guide us through the melee. Learning how to say 'no thank you' in Indonesian was simple and effective and always brought a smile. Never felt pressured. A delightful food stop on the way to Penelokan was in Tegallalang, known for its handcraft production and the lovely rice terraces. My favourite temple on this route was Tirta Empul (Holy Water) in the village of Tampak Siring. Other notable visits: the temple of Tanah Lot, the Kecak dancers at Uluwatu Temple in Jimbaran, the stunning Four Seasons Hotel at Sayan, Ubud, overlooking the Ayung River where we took part in an exciting white water rafting trip with Bali Adventure Tours, and finally the magnificent elephants at the Elephant Safari Park in Taro, Ubud. Would definitely recommend this trip and the Villa to everyone!

Manager response: So good to hear you enjoyed your stay at the villa. Thank you also for the helpful day trip tips. It's always helpful when people share how they filled their time and we all discover new places to see and things to do. Hope to see you again soon!
We had a thoroughly relaxing stay at Villa BungaWangi with our children aged 12 and 3. Peaceful to laze around - by the pool (which the kids enjoyed), sit and watch the breeze blow thru the trees, or have the staff whip up a meal, call in masseurs, walk up the road. Rooms are spacious enough, especially the bathrooms which also have outdoor showers. There's a separate kids' TV room. Outside the villa, it's only 3 minutes by car to the nearest beach or a couple minutes more to Echo beach and the cafes there. About 20 minutes to the restaurants at Seminyak, and 15 minutes the other way to Bali Nirwana - for golf and facilities there, and to the Tanah Lot temple. And about 50 minutes to Ubud. A convenient location. And ticked all the boxes for relaxing. Staff were non-intrusive. We'd visit again.

Exceeded All Expectations

This was our first stay at this friendly and incredibly serene Villa, but hopefully not our last. We travelled with two other couples, one of which had stayed at least twice before, and for them, it was like coming home. After an hour I felt the same way. Chef Ketut and the staff were all so welcoming, attentive and funny, friendly people. I didn’t know how I’d feel being surrounded by staff all day, but we all genuinely enjoyed their company. The food was outstanding – we tried to make our way through the entire menu but were defeated by such extensive choice - and Ketut’s sambal is to die for! The setup is perfect for three or four couples holidaying together, we had ample space and privacy to ensure we were all still talking at the end of the week. Four poster beds and the primitive luxury of a warm outdoor shower add a real touch of tropical romance in the bedroom quarters. The lush garden setting is immaculately maintained, and comes with a soundtrack of lowing cattle, birdsong and running water. Timeless. We were hard-pressed to leave the poolside somedays, and if you’ve seen the sights before, there’s no real need to get in a car even if you want total r&r Balinese style – local dancers, musicians and beauticians all make house calls! A short stroll past the rice paddies into the local village provided us with some terrific photo ops and a chance to meet some very gracious locals. We were welcomed off the street into a young girl’s family home, simply so she could introduce us to her grandmother. Kids posed for photographs and thanked us for taking them. We were the only tourists around, which made us feel very special. If you’re used to staying in the bustle of Semanyak and other tourist hubs, the location may seem a little out of the way, but in reality there’s a cab rank up the road (and conveniently, a money exchange shack with pretty decent rates) and a driving service available through the villa. Would love to come back one day!

What do you say about a place that is so perfect..? It had everything you could ask for and more. If you wanted to lay back on your private deck or by the pool and do nothing you could, if you want to go out on a day trip and explore, then the villa could organise a driver at an additional cost ( not expensive at all! ) - it was that simple. The perfect holiday. If your impressed by the photos that shows the Villa you will be blown away by the real thing. The dedicated villa staff, where amazing, friendly and helpful. I wanted to take the talented cook Ketut home – the food was fantastic! It was our first time at Villa Bunga Wangi and it wont be our last, now we are trying to work out when we will go next! Our DREAM spot in BALI
Our DREAM spot in BALI
The house was beautiful, comfortable and very clean. The staff was amazing and sweet. Especially the man who ran the house - he was a great chef as well. They were very accommodating and helpful with getting us around. Ordering Taxi's, making reservations, dealing with our kids running all over the place and getting crazy in the pool. The only thing that was missing was surf. The beaches close by are not very nice. Echo beach is fun but not a major surf spot. The kids however had a great time boogie boarding in Seminyak (which is close) We will definitely return and highly recommend the villas.

Manager response: We are so glad to hear you enjoyed your holiday in Bali and your stay at Villa Bunga Wangi. We understand your comment about Canggu Beach - it is a popular surfing beach for board riders but is a little steep for children. Seminyak is about 20 minutes away and is a good choice for a beach for children and the parents can enjoy some of the beachfront restaurants like Ku De Ta and La Lucciola while supervising their children at the same time!! We are also very lucky to have great villa staff who enjoy providing Balinese hospitality to our guests lead by our villa chef, Ketut, who prepares the most delicious meals. We look forward to welcoming you back to Villa Bunga Wangi at a future time - both ourselves and the villa staff always enjoy welcoming guests returning to stay at the villa.
We have stayed at this villa several times and it is stunning. The separate bedroom pavillions are spacious with beautiful indoor/outdoor bathrooms and terraces and each located a little way from each other ensuring privacy. The main dining/living pavillion is superb and tastefully decorated making it so relaxing. The gardens and pool area are just so lovely to wander through. It is all extremely well kept by the staff who also look after you and the cook who provides wonderful meals. We love the Beef Rendang and chicken baked with spices. The photos just don't do it justice. It's a little way to the beach but walkable, however we usually hire a moped/car or get a taxi. Seminyak is not too far away with lots of great bars and restaurants but we prefer to stay at the villa. We just love it.

Manager response: We are so pleased to hear that you continue to enjoy your holidays at Villa Bunga Wangi. Part of the appeal for us too is being close enough to enjoy the business of the touristy areas but then having a quiet, traditional Balinese retreat to return to. We look forward to having you and your friends again soon. Thank you for coming back to "House of Fragrant Flowers" (Villa Bunga Wangi).
